Below: Year 6 study acids and bases
Spectacular Science A successful term in Science saw our boys enjoy a host of experiments from volcanic eruptions to generating light using a miniature power station. All boys from Reception to Year 8 have been busy experimenting this term. Reception boys were thrilled to carry out a volcano experiment as part of their dinosaur topic. Each boy had a turn to create an eruption and excitedly waited to see how far the ‘lava’ travelled! Year 1 boys carried out an ice experiment where mini figures were frozen into blocks of ice and our boys were tasked with working out the best way to free them!

THE BEACON BULLETIN | SPRING 2022
Year 3 have been studying forces with a particular look at magnetism. They tested the penetration of different types of magnets and designed and built their own magnet games. Their second topic was on rocks and fossils. They investigated how different types of rocks were formed and made their own wax “rocks”. They also learnt about Mary Anning and where fossils come from and made their own fossils.
