Upper School boys learning their lines

LAMDA was in full swing during the Spring Term and boys made excellent progress learning lines and perfecting performances in preparation for their exams that took place towards the end of term. Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Over the Spring Term, our Year 7 and 8 boys made an excellent start in their Guys & Dolls production rehearsals.
They began to learn their lines and started to understand their characters. They are already showing great rapport working as a team.
We are looking forward to seeing the performance transforming over the next few months and wish the boys the best of luck with their performance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the Summer Term.
LAMDA tuition in full swing Folk Tales
Our Year 4 boys put on a fantastic show during their Folk Tales performances, acting with maturity and flair, really understanding their characters.
All four classes enjoyed learning their own tale and performing in front of a live audience in the Spinney Theatre. Great acting boys! Our Year 1 and Year 2 boys were given the opportunity to learn to street dance in the Spring Term. Miss Harvell, Dance Teacher, instructed the boys, teaching them a whole routine to one of their favourite songs.

Street Dance
Our boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and took it in their stride. Miss Harvell said "It was lovely to see them all grow in confidence and gain a love for dancing."
House Public Speaking & General Knowledge Final
Over the Spring term, we saw two separate House competitions take place. At the beginning of the term, it was the final of the House Public Speaking Challenge, which was contested between successful semi-finalists Portland and Eddystone. The representative speakers from each house gathered in the Spinney Theatre before an audience and our judges, to wrangle with the tricky topic of ‘Should zoos be banned?”.
Boys from each House spoke passionately and expressively using evidence and persuasion to support their case. Well done to Eddystone who came out on top, earning an early lead in the term's House competition.
Their next challenge was the House General Knowledge Competition. Throughout the term, our boys had been taking part in quizzes during their House Assemblies in the lead up to the Final. Teams of three, from Lower School, Middle School and Upper School came together to represent their House.
It is safe to say that their general knowledge was very much put to the test during the competition, with picture rounds, mystery Teacher and some fiendish dingbats as the fastest team on the buzzer fought to take the trophy.
Congratulations to Cromer who claimed victory and the House trophy!
