Presidente Gruppo Autotorino Questo duemilaventi ha messo noi tutti, nessuno escluso, davanti ad una prospettiva inattesa e, per certi versi, spiazzante. Quella di doversi fermare. Le nostre vite, il nostro lavoro, la società e l’economia da decenni sono contraddistinte da una accelerazione costante che, fino alla scorsa primavera, avremmo detto inesorabile. L’emergenza Covid-19 ci ha imposto la condizione di doverci fermare e di dover trovare un senso a quanto stava accadendo. Fermarsi per osservare e reagire, quindi: è la forza della vita saper interpretare il presente per evolvere; abbiamo subito capito che solo tutti insieme avremmo avuto la forza necessaria per ricominciare il cammino e andar oltre, oltre il disorientamento, i lutti e una nuova ‘normalità’ con cui convivere. Insieme a chi lavorava nell’emergenza abbiamo voluto aiutare le nostre comunità; insieme alla nostra Squadra abbiamo riprogettato le nostre modalità operative, facendo nascere nuovi servizi, nuove esperienze e nuove opportunità, tutti dedicati ai nostri Clienti. E con tutto il settore dei concessionari italiani, rappresentato da Federauto, abbiamo unito la nostra voce e le nostre istanze a quella di tanti altri imprenditori per indicare come ora sia maturo il tempo per riscrivere regole e leggi per snellire il Paese, nella prospettiva di maggior dinamismo e competitività nella ripresa e nel prossimo futuro. Fermarsi, quindi, non significa – e non ha significato – rimanere immobili sul posto. Anzi, mai come oggi fermarsi ci ha spronato ad uscire da schemi usuali che, pur abituati a metterci sempre in discussione, forse difficilmente avremmo modificato o scardinato così in profondità e così velocemente. Continuiamo così a guardare avanti, con nuove prospettive, fiducia e tanta prudenza.
2020 has been a strange year so far, and no one has been exempt from having to deal with the unpredictable and often disorientating position it has thrown us into: that of having to stop and stand still. For decades, our lives, livelihoods, society and the economy have known nothing but a path of constant acceleration that, until the spring of 2020, we simply thought was inexorable. But the pandemic has upset that trajectory; it put us a position where we had no choice but to stop and consider, to try and find some meaning in the situation. We stopped to observe and react. We demonstrated that critical human strength of knowing how to interpret the present in order to evolve. We recognised immediately that it would require unity, a joint effort on behalf of everyone, in order to muster the strength to re-start the journey and move beyond the disorientation and the grief, to a place where we could hash out a ‘new normal’ for our lives. Together with those who worked on the front-line of the emergency, we wanted to support our local communities. We set about redesigning our operational procedures, creating new services, new experiences and new opportunities, all of which are focused on our clients. Alongside Italy’s entire sector of authorised dealers represented by Federauto and many other businesses, we joined forces to amplify the message that now is the time to rewrite the rules. As a nation, we will benefit from revising laws in order to streamline processes, allowing greater agility and creating the foundation to be more competitive in our recovery, now and in the near future. Stopping doesn’t mean being motionless–not now, not ever. More than ever before, the recent act of stopping has prompted us to look more closely in the mirror and break out of our habits. We may well have been used to questioning ourselves, but perhaps it took this very situation to bring us to the point where we could do it so drastically and to such great effect. From here, this is how we’ll continue to look ahead with new perspectives, confidence, and a good dose of prudence.
