Editoriale

Un filo conduttore nella storia di Autotorino può essere racchiuso in due parole: cresciamo insieme .

Credo sia l espressione più sintetica e significativa dello spirito con cui il nostro Gruppo ha saputo costruire un percorso che non solo raggiunge risultati, ma che crea impresa, lavoro e servizio. È un cammino che parte dalla cultura del fare e dal piacere del nostro lavoro, creando risposte laddove capiamo che i clienti manifestino bisogni ed esigenze ancora irrisolte, rimboccandoci le maniche se per far questo dovesse occorrere progettare e definire una soluzione che non esiste ancora, senza mai arrendersi o aspettare che qualcuno la trovi per noi.

Per rendere questo possibile abbiamo sempre abbracciato nuove energie, intelligenze e passioni, credendo nelle persone e nei giovani, per dare loro formazione e professionalità, con cui puntare al futuro sicuri del nostro lavoro e delle nostre capacità.

Un cammino inclusivo, che abbiamo capito essere comune anche ad aziende che condividono da anni i medesimi valori e che, nel loro sviluppo, hanno compiuto scelte affini. Su queste affinità è nato il progressivo avvicinamento ad Autostar ed alle persone che la animano, giunto infine in una confluenza che mette in comune anni di esperienza e cultura del nostro settore.

Nasce così, lungo questo 2019, un nuovo soggetto sicuramente di ragguardevole dimensione, primo in Italia e tra i primi 25 europei, ma che sarà capace innanzitutto di investire in modo ancor più consistente ed incisivo nella capacità di fornire risposte ai propri clienti. Un nuovo soggetto in grado di rappresentare anche all estero un esempio competitivo dell Italia che sa fare impresa attraverso le persone, con un radicamento forte sui territori in cui nasce e lavora.

Questo perché non solo Autotorino crede nella potenzialità del crescere insieme . Quando si incontrano persone che non solo lavorano, ma animano le loro aziende secondo questa visione, dalla messa in comune di energie e talenti possono nascere solo grandi progetti, dedicati ai nostri clienti, al nostro Paese, ai nostri giovani e alle loro famiglie. Così è stato grazie a quanti hanno contribuito a costruire questo percorso, lungo il quale mi accingo ad iniziare il mio trentacinquesimo anno di impegno, e da oggi ciascuno di noi ne sarà allo stesso modo artefice e protagonista.

A common thread in the history of Autotorino can be encapsulated in just two words “growing together”. I think it represents the most concise and meaningful way of expressing the spirit with which our Group has learnt how to identify a route which not only produces results, but also creates enterprise, work and services.

It’s a journey which begins with the culture of working and taking pleasure in doing so, creating solutions where we understand that customers still have needs and requisites, rolling up our sleeves should it be necessary to design and specify an answer which does not yet exist, without ever relenting or waiting for others to find it for us.

To render this possible we have always embraced new energies, intelligence and passion, believing in people and today’s youth, and in providing them with training and instilling professionalism with which to move towards a secure future for our work and competence. An inclusive journey, which we have discovered is common to other companies too, who over the years have shared the same values, and in their development have made similar choices. On this essential affinity a positive approach to Autostar was founded , and to the people who breathe life into it, until we finally secured a coming together which has permitted the sharing of years of priceless experience and culture within our sector.

And so in 2019 a new entity was born, clearly one of significant proportions, the largest in Italy in fact and amongst the top 25 in Europe, with the capacity above all to invest ever more consistently and decisively in its capability to provide solutions for its customers.

A new entity able to “export” internationally a competitive example of an Italy which knows how to do business through people, and with a strong rooting in the territory where it was born and still continues to work.

This is because not only Autotorino believes in the potential of “growing together”. When you meet people who do not simply work, but energise their companies according to this vision, alongside the pooling of energies and talent, only then can great projects take shape; undertakings dedicated to our customers, our country, our young people and their families. This has been possible for those who have collaborated in building this path, along which I am about to begin my thirty-fifth year, and each and every one of us will be both author and protagonist.

Editoriale

A metà dell anno 2019 irrompono nella vita aziendale di Autotorino due nuovi eventi: la fusione con Autostar e l acquisizione delle filiali Mercedes di Reggio Emilia e Parma.

Si andranno a intrecciare esperienze, culture e territori diversi e anche lontani, per provare a costruire un nuovo modello per stare dentro al mercato dell auto ancora da protagonisti. Vendiamo auto e servizi annessi da qualche decennio, sempre attenti al costante cambiamento, di prodotto e di processo. Il fatto nuovo e più eclatante è la trasformazione digitale, un evento che è diventato regola di vita e che per questo incide pesantemente sulla nostra quotidianità.

Crescere in dimensioni significa costruire le premesse per poter competere nella trasformazione dei processi digitali che ci sono richiesti. Il cambiamento è legato alla necessità di destinare risorse crescenti allo sviluppo di componenti intangibili della distribuzione dell automobile. Si tratta di piattaforme dedicate alla relazione con il cliente che richiedono nuove e qualificate intelligenze per la loro costruzione e gestione. Non sono processi del tutto nuovi e fini a se stessi, ma la trasformazione digitale della relazione in essere da sempre con il Cliente .

Non cambia la centralità della relazione umana, anzi viene esaltata con strumenti che avvicinano le persone anche nei momenti in cui manca il contatto fisico-visivo. Il digital consente di veicolare più efficacemente e a misura di cliente valori e contenuti che prima richiedevano modalità che spesso consumavano molto tempo. Proprio il Tempo diventa il valore espresso e tangibile che vogliamo rimettere nelle mani del cliente, la cui mobilità sarà sempre più commisurata all effettivo consumo e con minore burocrazia grazie alla digitalizzazione dei processi.

Per questo Autotorino e Autostar hanno deciso di fondersi e insieme da subito hanno allargato il perimetro a Reggio e Parma. Un azienda più grande, ma attenta alle piccole necessità del cliente, sempre più nel dettaglio e con un supporto tecnologico innovativo e qualificato.

Half-way through 2019, two monumental events were to genuinely burst forth within the corporate life of Autotorino: the merger with Autostar and the acquisition of the Mercedes branches of Reggio Emilia and Parma.

We are naturally happy to weave together differing experiences, cultures and territories, even at some distance, in order to create a new model to remain within the automotive market as serious protagonists. We have been selling cars and providing related services for decades now, always supremely attentive to constant product and process changes.

The most novel and striking factor today is undoubtedly that of digital transformation, a revolution that has become the “rule of life” and thus seriously impinges on our daily considerations.

Growing in size involves creating the preconditions to be able to engage fully in the transformation of digital processes that are required of us. It’s a change that is closely linked to the need to allocate increasing resources to the development of those “intangible” elements of car distribution. These are platforms dedicated to customer relations that require novel and specialised intelligence for their construction and management. They may not be entirely new processes and ends in themselves, but the “digital transformation” of the relationship that has always existed with “the Customer” The central focus of the human relationship is not changing, on the contrary it is being enhanced using tools which bring people together even in those times when there is no actual physical-visual contact. Digital makes it possible to transmit more effectively to individual customers values and content that previously would have required procedures taking up considerably more time. Precisely the “Time” which becoming a value both recognised and tangible, we want to deliver back into the hands of the customer, whose mobility will be increasingly more commensurate with actual consumption and with less bureaucracy thanks to the digitalisation of processes.

This is the reason why Autotorino and Autostar decided to merge and together they have immediately broadened their operating areas in Reggio and Parma. A larger Company indeed, but attentive even to its customers’ smallest exigency, ever closer to the detail and with innovative and expert technological support.

Mercedes-Benz EQC

Mercedes-Benz EQC è la vettura che segna l alba di una nuova era della mobilità elettrica per Mercedes-Benz. Con un prezzo di vendita che parte da 76.839 euro per la EQC 400 4MATIC SPORT, si propone al mercato italiano con due distinti livelli di allestimento: SPORT e PREMIUM. L autonomia dichiarata è intorno ai 450 Km (417 in WLTP), con una ricarica casalinga (7,4 kWh) che impiega circa 10 ore, mentre quella superfast, avendo la colonnina giusta, in tre quarti d ora fornisce il classico 80% di carica.

Mercedes-Benz EQC is the car that marks the dawn of a new era of electric mobility for Mercedes-Benz. With a sale price starting at 76.839 euro for the EQC 400 4MATIC SPORT, what is being proposed to the Italian market are two quite distinct levels of outfitting: SPORT and PREMIUM. The stated autonomy is around 450 Km (417 in WLTP), with a “home” recharge (7,4 kWh) which takes around 10 hours, while the superfast one, having the right column can provide the classic 80% charge in just three-quarters of an hour.

Alfa Romeo Tonale

Seppure il suo arrivo in concessionaria è previsto per la seconda metà del 2020, il modello Alfa Romeo raccoglie già importanti riconoscimenti da parte della stampa di settore. A luglio la concept Alfa Romeo Tonale si è aggiudicata il Readers Choice Design Award dell importante concorso Auto Express Awards 2019. Il crossover arriverà sul mercato anche in versione ibrida. Il veicolo è destinato a far aumentare le vendite globali di Alfa Romeo che nel giro di qualche anno grazie ai nuovi modelli punta a superare quota 400 mila immatricolazioni annue. Dopo Tonale infatti arriveranno altri due suv e due auto sportive.

La nuova coupé RC F Track Edition è in grado di unire il lusso e la maestria artigianale Lexus. È stata progettata per garantire agli appassionati della velocità performance e potenza eccezionali. Although its availability at Dealerships is not envisaged until the second half of 2020, the Alfa Romeo model is already receiving some important accolades from within the sector’s press ranks. In July the Alfa Romeo Tonale concept was judged the Reader’s Choice Design Award of the influential Auto Express Awards 2019 competition. The crossover will also be available on the market in a hybrid version. Novità protagoniste negli Nuova Jeep Gladiator Il marchio Jeep® ha scelto il Camp Jeep 2019 di luglio per annunciare l anteprima europea della nuova Jeep Gladiator. Il pick-up di medie dimensioni, con capacità off-road migliori di sempre, ha fatto il suo esordio mondiale a novembre dello scorso anno in occasione del Salone di Los Angeles.

The Jeep® Brand has chosen the occasion of the 2019 Jeep Camp to announce the European premiere of the New Jeep Gladiator. The medium-sized pick up, with better off-road capabilities than ever, first strode onto the world stage in December last year at the Los Angeles Motor Show.

Nuova Corolla TREK Nuova Corolla TREK sarà disponibile a partire da fine 2019. Con questo modello Toyota propone in Italia un nuovo allestimento Touring Sports con motorizzazione Full Hybrid Electric da 1.8L. Progettata per clienti con uno stile di vita attivo, Corolla TREK nasce dalla collaborazione tra Toyota e Trek Bicycle, famoso marchio di biciclette a livello mondiale. Corolla TREK avrà un assetto rialzato di 20 mm rispetto ai modelli standard, cerchi in lega forgiati da 17 pollici, vetri posteriori oscurati, fendinebbia e gruppi ottici a LED. All interno, Corolla TREK dispone di un display da 7 per il sistema di infotainment e sedili in tessuto bicolore.

The New Corolla TREK will be available from the end of 2019. With this model Toyota is introducing in Italy a new Touring Sports set up with a 1.8L Full Hybrid Electric engine. Designed for customers who live life to the full, Corolla TREK is the result of a collaboration between Toyota and Trek Bicycle, the world-renowned bicycle brand. Corolla TREK will boast a 20mm raised trim with respect to the standard model, 17 inch moulded alloy wheels, tinted rear windows, fog lights and LED headlights. Inside, the Corolla TREK has a 7” display for the infotainment system, and two-tone fabric seating.

Nuova Hyundai Kona Hybrid Dal mese di agosto il modello di Hyundai Kona si arricchisce della nuova versione Hybrid. Questa dotazione si affianca a quella elettrica già disponibile con un motore elettrico a magneti permanenti che eroga 43,5 CV (32 kW) e 170 Nm di coppia massima.

From August onwards the Hyundai Kona model range will be embellished by its new Hybrid version. It’s an attractive proposition which will sit appropriately alongside the electric one already available.

The New Hyundai Kona Hybrid will boast a 1.6 GDI petrol engine with natural aspiration of 105 HP.

Nuove Subaru XV e Forester

Le nuove Subaru XV e Forester saranno i primi due modelli ibridi per l Europa. Esteticamente le nuove versioni ibride si identificano per il badge e-Boxer applicato sulle loro code e fiancate. Nei primi test eseguiti dagli esperti del settore, i due modelli non tradiscono le aspettative di chi apprezza Subaru.

Sull asfalto bagnato e asciutto, l e-Boxer risulta sicura e ben equilibrata, affrontando con naturalezza ogni situazione. Elementi che rendono immutati i punti di forza di Subaru anche nelle loro versioni ibride.

The new SUBARU XV and FORESTER will represent the first two hybrid models for Europe. Aesthetically the new hybrid versions are instantly identifiable by the e-Boxer badge emblazoned on their tails and sides. In early tests performed by experts within the sector, the two models will not disappoint the high expectations of the many Subaru faithful. On asphalt in both wet and dry conditions, the e-Boxer proves safe and well-balanced, coping with any circumstances perfectly naturally. Elements which ensure Subaru’s strong selling-points remain undiminished even in their hybrid versions.

Al Salone Internazionale di Ginevra 2019 Fiat ha presentato il Concept Centoventi. Il modello celebra i 120 anni della casa automobilistica. Fiat Concept Centoventi è la soluzione di mobilità elettrica più accessibile sul mercato.

Sarà prodotta in una sola livrea personalizzata scegliendo tra 4 tettucci, 4 paraurti, 4 copriruota e 4 pellicole esterne.

Con Fiat Concept Centoventi, sarà il cliente a configurare gli interni, scegliere gli accessori e adattare gli spazi in base alle proprie necessità, creando quindi una vettura unica, sempre.

FIAT CONCEPT ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY It was at the 2019 International Motor Show at Geneva that Fiat unveiled its Concept One Hundred and Twenty, the model celebrating fully 120 years of the company’s car production. This new and innovative Fiat Concept represents the most accessible electric mobility model on the current market. It will be introduced in a single customised livery with a choice between 4 roofs, 4 bumpers, 4 wheel covers and 4 types of external wrapping. The beauty of the Fiat Concept 120 is that it is the customer himself who specifies the interior, chooses the accessories and adapts the spaces for their personal requirements, thereby creating a unique and individual vehicle each and every time.

Nuova BMW THE 1

La Nuova BMW Serie 1 segna la nascita della terza generazione del riuscito modello compatto premium.

Presentata al pubblico a fine giugno 2019 questo modello esce in quattro versioni: Advantage di base, Luxury Line propone applicazioni in alluminio e rivestimenti in pelle Dakota, Sport Line con sfumature nere e il modello sportivo M. La nuova BMW Serie 1 è più corta nel passo di 2 centimetri, per un valore di 2,67 metri, ma guadagna 34 millimetri in larghezza e ne perde 13 in altezza, per valori rispettivamente di 1,80 e 1,43 metri. Presenti anche due modelli con trazione integrale intelligente BMW xDrive. Per i propulsori sono previsti tre motori diesel e due benzina tra cui il top di gamma BMW M135i xDrive, un 2 litri turbocompresso da 306 cavalli.

Nuova Kia e-Soul

Kia ha presentato al Salone dell auto di Ginevra la nuova e-Soul. Solo elettrica, sempre eccentrica, divertente, Kia e-Soul porta una ventata d innovazione con due versioni completamente elettriche: long-range da 64 kWh e mid-range da 39.2 kWh. Kia propone una gamma in forte crescita di veicoli ibridi, ibridi plugin ed elettrici. Anche nuova e-Soul sarà venduta in Europa a partire dal secondo semestre del 2019 con l esclusiva garanzia Kia di 7 anni e 150.000 km.

Kia chose to introduce the new e-Soul at the Geneva Motor Show. Simply electric, forever eccentric and great fun indeed. Kia e-Soul brings with it a whole host of innovations with its two fully-electric versions: 64 kWh long-range and 39.2 kWh mid-range.

Kia is offering a rapidly growing range of hybrid, hybrid plugin and electric vehicles. Furthermore the new e-Soul will be sold in Europe in the second half of the year with the exclusive KIA warranty of seven years and 150.000 km.

The New BMW Series 1 marks the birth of the third generation of the highly successful premium compact model.

Introduced to the general public at the end of June 2019 this exciting model will be available in four versions: Advantage as a base model, Luxury Line proposes aluminium applications and Dakota leather upholstery, Sport Line boasts attractive black tinctures or alternatively the super sporty model M. The new BMW Series 1 has a 2 cm shorter wheelbase, measuring 2,67 metres, but gains 34 millimetres in width and sheds 13 in height for dimensions of 1,80 and 1,43 metres respectively. Furthermore there are two models with all-wheel intelligent BMWxDrive. The engines proposed range from three diesel and two petrol including the top of the range BMW M135i xDrive, a 2-litre turbocharger supplying 306 HP.

BMW Motorrad lancia sul mercato italiano la R 1250 R, una super naked che segue il filone delle maxi moto e monta il nuovissimo motore boxer bicilindrico di 1.254 cc, con tecnologia BMW ShiftCam che potenzia prestazioni ed efficienza. Il motore cresce di cilindrata (da 1.170 a 1.254 cc) rispetto al vecchio bicilindrico, per una potenza che aumenta dai 125 ai 136 CV. La nuova R 1250 R aggiunge il manubrio sportivo, che promette una posizione di guida più dinamica e un ergonomia curata nei minimi particolari.

L equipaggiamento di sicurezza si avvale del Controllo di stabilità ASC, il Traction Control e l assistente per le partenze in salita. I prezzi della BMW R 1250 R partono da 14.950 euro.

BMW Motorrad is launching onto the Italian market the R 1250 R, a super naked that follows the inclination of the maxi bikes and features the brand new 1.254cc twin-cylinder boxer engine with BMW Shiftcam technology that reinforces performance and efficiency.

The engine increases by displacement (from 1.170 to 1.254cc) with respect to the old twin-cylinder engine, giving a power which has increased from 125 to 137 HP. The new R 1250 now boasts the sporty handlebar, which promises a more dynamic driving position and ergonomics created by some serious attention to detail. The safety apparatus adopts the ASC Stability Control system and the Hill Start assistance function. Prices for the BMW R 1250 R start at 14.950 euro.

Nuova Mitsubishi ASX

Il lancio sul mercato è previsto per il 2020. La nuova versione del SUV compatto ASX è attesa dal grande pubblico. Per i mercati europei, nuovo ASX monterà un motore da 2,0 litri con 16 valvole, abbinato a una trasmissione manuale a 5 rapporti o al cambio a sei velocità. Nel nuovo ASX, il design frontale subisce una rivisitazione.

Questa nuova estetica regala maggiore profondità al cofano. Per il resto, nuova ASX punta a riconfermare tutte le sue qualità in materia di versatilità e sicurezza, molto apprezzate dai suoi affezionati estimatori.

The market launch is scheduled for 2020. And it’s pretty clear that the new version of the compact ASX SUV is eagerly anticipated by the general public. For its European customers the new ASX will boast a 2.0 litre engine and 16 valves combined with a 5-speed manual transmission or a six-speed gearbox. For the new ASX the front design has been subject to a serious redesign which has resulted in a satisfying aesthetic affording a greater depth to the bonnet. UN MERCATO A DUE FACCE I numeri parlano chiaro. In Italia il mercato dell auto stenta a recuperare terreno. Eppure, il dato in crescita espresso da Autotorino nei primi mesi dell anno testimonia come esistano leve efficaci da attivare per spingere all insù le linee delle vendite e del fatturato. Secondo i dati ufficiali UNRAE, le auto immatricolate in Italia nel primo trimestre dell anno sono scese di quasi il 10%; nello stesso periodo il colosso valtellinese ha fatto registrare un dato positivo del 16%. La performance trova spiegazione in una molteplicità di fattori, a cominciare dall attenta politica aziendale orientata verso la soddisfazione del cliente, sorretta da una capillare attività di formazione della propria rete commerciale. Un modello, quello promosso e affinato da Autotorino, che si è rafforzato ulteriormente ad aprile, con la fusione tra il Gruppo valtellinese - già primo dealer auto in Italia - con l azienda friulana Autostar.

Se allarghiamo l analisi al Paese Italia, scopriamo che la medesima formula vince e convince in molteplici settori economici già da molto tempo, con una tendenza in crescita negli ultimi anni. Top-player europeo Il nuovo soggetto ‒ che dalle prime stime si prepara a chiudere il 2019 con un fatturato intorno ai 1,3 miliardi ‒ si posiziona tra i primi 25 dealer europei. La prima conseguenza prodotta da questa unione è stata la necessità da parte di Autotorino di espandere le proprie opportunità occupazionali e realizzare nuovi investimenti in materia di formazione. Oggi Autotorino impegna già 1.100 collaboratori nelle sue sedi sparse tra Lombardia, Piemonte ed Emilia. Solo negli ultimi mesi sono state un centinaio le nuove posizioni aperte nell ambito dello sviluppo del Gruppo, distribuite nei settori vendita, service, after-sale e back-office centrale nella sede direzionale.

MARKET WITH TWO ASPECTS GROWTH STRATEGIES IN A SECTOR THAT’S JUST LIMPING ALONG The numbers speak for themselves. In Italy the car market is struggling to keep up. And yet, growth figures declared

by Autotorino in the early months of the year testify that effective leverage exists which can be employed to push up the figures of both sales and turnover. According to official UNRAE data, the number of cars registered in the first quarter of the year fell by almost 10%; in the same period the Valtellina colossus registered a very positive figure of 16%. It’s a performance explained by a multiplicity of factors, starting with a conscious company policy geared towards customer satisfaction, sustained by comprehensive training enterprises within its own sales network. It’s a model, introduced and fine-tuned by Autotorino, which has been further reinforced as recently as April, with the merger between the Valtellina company – already the top car dealer in the country – and that of Autostar based in Friuli.

Unity is Strength The merger strategy, adopted by Autotorino and Autostar is hardly that of an isolated voice singing from a different hymn sheet. If we were to roll out the analysis to the whole of Italy we would discover that the very same formula has been a winning and convincing one in manifold economic sectors for an age now, and with an increasing trend in recent years. In 2018, in Italy merger initiatives were consummated for a gross consideration of around 91,4 billion euro, double with respect to the 46 billion in 2017, involving 882 applications, 8% compared to the 817 of 2017. The sectors involved in this type of process are genuinely diverse: they range from gaming, telecommunications, energy and utilities, financial and banking services, not to mention food industries and various multinationals. And it would seem that in 2019 the trend towards merger seems set to continue.

Benefits for All Driving towards a merger formula means multiple benefits for the companies involved, with positive returns also for customers. For the former, it’s a way forward which will engender the adoption of new know-how, bolster areas that might be lagging behind, generate savings in operating costs and create greater opportunities for expansion in the market. All of this translates into revenue growth and improved profitability. For the customer the merger brings about an improvement in services and quality. The leading companies increase their competitiveness and express – with the widespread coverage on offer – a genuine expansion of output towards the customer, both in terms of sales, and in the post-sale and variously related associates among which financial and insurance companies stand out.

A Winning Betrothal The emergent consequence from the uniting of Autotorino and Autostar is a concrete manifestation of a decision made with success in mind. And the results of the first few months afford huge optimism. Tying the knot with Autostar has allowed Autotorino to become a giant astride the European stage. From the merger between the Valtellina company with that of Friuli, a vast entity of truly international proportions has emerged, which now has huge ambitions in terms of workforce and innovation.

European Top-player The new entity – which from early estimates is preparing to close 2019 with a turnover of around 1,3 billion – now ranks among the top 25 European dealers. And pretty much the first upshot prompted by the merger was the need on the part of Autotorino to expand its employment opportunities and to make new investments in training. Autotorino already employs 1.100 staff members in its locations scattered around Lombardy, Piedmont and Emilia. In the last few months alone around one hundred new positions have been created with a view to Group development, distributed within sales, service, post-sale sectors as well as central back-office at the company headquarters.

Autotorino and Autostar, among the major players in the Sector have confirmed their merger, breathing life into a new concern which in Italy has no equal as far as volumes of car sales and turnover is concerned. The numbers speak volumes of the new colossus: 1.500 employees, more than 260,000 customers, an aggregate turnover of 1.2 billion euro and 53.000 vehicles sold (2018 data).

Autotorino and Autostar both share common entrepreneurial origins and matrix. La nuova sede cura ufficialmente la vendita e l assistenza di questi marchi, a cui si affianca anche il Service ufficiale Mercedes-Benz. Inoltre, propone un ampia esposizione per l Usato Prima Scelta, l offerta di vetture a chilometri zero e pronta consegna del Gruppo, accompagnata dall esclusiva formula Soddisfatto o Rimborsato . Più scelta, quindi, ma anche un potenziamento dei servizi di assistenza, a beneficio della libertà di movimento degli automobilisti bergamaschi.

Per il marchio Jeep, in particolare, si tratta di un vero e proprio raddoppio sul territorio: la nuova sede di via per Zanica e quella di Curno coesisteranno, servendo in modo più comodo ed efficiente sia chi si rivolge per l acquisto, sia chi per la manutenzione. A dirigere la nuova apertura di Autotorino a Bergamo è Alessandro Lischetti, già vice-responsabile della filiale di Curno.

Autotorino doubles its presence in Bergamo Summer 2019 saw four new branches consolidate Autotorino Group’s presence within their territorial network. Announced to the wider world at Autotorino’s annual convention last December, Monday the 1st July saw Autotorino’s second branch in the province of Bergamo throw open its doors to the public in via per Zanica 87. 12 years after the opening of its base at Curno, today the Autotorino Group is reciprocating the trust and intimate relationship that it enjoys with the Bergamo community, by doubling the number of showrooms in which it can access the mobility offered within the city and Province. The new Dealership sports the Jeep insignia, a Brand historically represented in the Province, in fact since 2008, and Alfa Romeo a “new entry” as far as this local Autotorino showroom is concerned. The new base officially takes control of the sale and support services for both these brands and will be joined by the official Mercedes-Benz Service. In addition it provides an expansive display area for Used First Choice, promoting cars from Kilometre zero and ready for delivery by the Group, accompanied by the exclusive “Money Back Guarantee” formula. More choice therefore, but also an enhancement of support services, affording increased freedom of movement to Bergamo motorists. For the Jeep Brand in particular it represents an actual twofold increase within the territory: the new showroom at via per Zanica along with that of Curno will complement each other, providing more convenient and efficient services whether it be for purchase or for maintenance. To oversee the new Autotorino branch at Bergamo is Alessandro Lischetti, already well-known for his role as deputy at the Curno branch.

Three New Mercedes-Benz Branches in Emilia The Autotorino Group and the Campani Group have signed the agreement facilitating the transfer of the three Neacar Dealerships of Parma and Reggio Emilia and which thus adopt the Autotorino insignia. The acquisition has been operational since the 1st August 2019, the date on which the 112 employees at the three bases covered by the agreement will be adopted by the Autotorino Group which, in turn, becomes the official Mercedes Benz and Mercedes-Benz Van dealership in the two cities in Emilia. It’s a move which sees absolute continuum as far as sales service is concerned, with no ramifications with respect to existing contracts. Hence the Group reinforces its very real presence in Emilia. Ten years ago the Modena showroom was opened, followed by that of Carpi (2011) and Parma (2014).

Hence today Autotorino is doubling the number of showrooms in which the public can access mobility services within the region. The vital partnership with the Stuttgart Company is reinforced: and with this important move, the Mercedes-Benz branches signed up to Autotorino now numbers five, two of which are also dedicated to commercial vehicles of Mercedes-Benz Vans: in fact globally¸ the Group’s Mercedes-Benz bases rise to 12. More choice therefore, but also a significant strengthening of support services, at the disposal of the motorists in Emilia who choose the Star Brand.

Luca Genini, Autotorino’s Financial and Insurance Services Manager, illustrated the company case-study which has led the Group to become the first in Italy within its Sector in terms of volume of cars sold and of turnover. The Autotorino model kicks off with a training course of several weeks involving – first theoretical considerations in the classroom, followed by practical exposure alongside an experienced tutor – to which all students are obligated having passed the selection phase by way of tests and individual meetings within the entry module. Knowledge of the sales processes involving CRM and CSI, as well as a constant evaluation of the role of the customer are aspects which provide the very basis of the new auto Dealer, towards which candidates, including those coming to us from University, are directed.

AUTOMOTIVE DEALER DAY

Dal 14 al 16 maggio a Verona i principali operatori del settore si sono confrontati come ogni anno all evento organizzato da Quintegia. L occasione è stata utile per riunire in un unica sede i top-player italiani del mondo auto, chiamati a fare il punto sulle difficoltà che caratterizzano il mercato e sulle prospettive che si prefigurano all orizzonte. In questa occasione, il presidente del Gruppo Autotorino, Plinio Vanini, ha partecipato al confronto moderato dal presidente di Quintegia, Leonardo Buzzavo, con il vicepremier, Matteo Salvini, nel quale sono emersi numerosi spunti di riflessione e impegni sostanziali per il futuro. Già dalla manovra finanziaria del prossimo autunno - ha dichiarato Matteo Salvini - opereremo per portare il settore italiano dell auto ai livelli degli altri Paesi europei. Penso ad esempio alla proposta sulla detraibilità totale dell Iva per le auto aziendali, che solo in Italia è parziale. Significherebbe cambiare il parco auto e lo Stato incasserebbe di più rispetto a oggi . Il settore auto in Italia vale una spesa di 195 miliardi di euro l anno per un gettito fiscale di 75 miliardi di euro. L impatto della proposta che considera la detrazione Iva al 100% sulle auto aziendali, oggi al 40% ‒ ha sintetizzato Plinio Vanini - è stimato da Federauto attorno a 1,5 miliardi di euro in 3 anni. La manovra fiscale anticipata dal vicepremier si rivelerebbe un successo per tutti, dai consumatori ai cittadini, dalla filiera allo Stato, perché l aumento incrementale annuo stimato è di 100 mila vetture nuove, con conseguenti benefici ambientali dati dallo svecchiamento del parco auto e maggiori entrate nelle casse dello Stato per circa 1,8 miliardi di euro nel triennio, tra Iva, costi di immatricolazione, tasse automobilistiche e Ipt .

Il pacchetto di interventi proposto all evento organizzato da Quintegia, dove Gruppo Autotorino ha avuto un ruolo di primissimo piano, si concentra quindi sulla fiscalità auto, su detrazioni, deducibilità e crediti d imposta e che punta a rianimare un mercato ‒ quello dell auto nuova ‒ da circa 50 miliardi di euro l anno. Quegli interventi che da tempo chiedono a gran voce tutti gli operatori del settore.

Mercoledì 12 giugno si è svolta a Milano l ultima edizione degli Internet Motors, l appuntamento di discussione e formazione sui temi del marketing online per il settore Automotive. Cogliamo le opportunità e i comportamenti del mondo digitale per affinare il nostro modello d offerta, ottimizzare i processi e creare una formazione efficace per ciascun collaboratore di front-office. Cito un esempio: se una persona ormai dà per scontato di poter restituire un capo d abbigliamento da 35 euro acquistato on-line, trova a maggior ragione incomprensibile come mai non lo possa fare per una vettura acquistata per 20.000 euro. AUTOMOTIVE ITALY: HIGHLY PROMISING SCENARIOS FOR THE ENTIRE SECTOR IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR THE AUTOTORINO GROUP HAS SEEN ITSELF AS A MAJOR PROTAGONIST IN SOME IMPORTANT EVENTS DEDICATED TO OUR SECTOR, INCLUDING INTERVENTIONS AND MEETINGS WITH GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES Automotive Dealer Day From May 14th to 16th the key operators within the sector came together in Verona for their annual gathering organised by Quintegia. As ever the appointment provided a much anticipated opportunity for the major Italian players within the automotive world to put their heads together and consider any difficulties that might be affecting the market and to view prospects envisaged on the horizon. On this particular occasion President of the Autotorino Group Plinio Vanini, was a participant at the meeting overseen by the President of Quintegia Leonardo Buzzavo, with the vice premier Matteo Salvini, during which a number of points for reflection and substantial commitments for the future emerged.

“As early as the fiscal measures to be announced this Autumn” declared Matteo Salvini “we will be working to bring the Italian automotive sector in line with other European countries. I’m thinking for example of the proposal for the total deductibility of VAT for company cars which today remains only partial in Italy. It would involve a change in the nature of the car fleet and would mean the State would actually increase its income with respect to the present”. The auto sector in Italy is worth an expenditure of 195 billion euro a year providing tax revenues of 75 billion euro. “The impact of the proposal regarding the 100% deduction of VAT on company cars, which sits today at 40%” echoed Plinio Vanini “is estimated by Federauto at around 1,5 billion euro in three years. The fiscal measures envisaged by the Vice Premier would prove to be a winning move for everyone, from consumers to citizens, from the supply chain to the State, because the estimated annual incremental increase is of 100,000 new vehicles with the consequential environmental benefits given the renewal of car fleets and greater revenue in State coffers of around 1,8 billion euro over a three-year period, through VAT, registration costs, vehicle taxes and lpt”.

The very real package of interventions proposed at the event organised by Quintegia, where the Autotorino Group was to play a leading role, focused thus on car taxation, on allowances, deductibility and tax credits and looks towards reviving a market – that of the new car – to the tune of around 50 billion euro a year. The very same interventions that all the operators within the Sector have been clamouring for.

Internet Motors Dealer K Wednesday 12th June saw the latest appointment in Milan of Internet Motors, providing a further opportunity for discussion and training on issues such as online marketing within the Automotive sector. L’UOMO CHE SOGNAVA LE STELLE L’ASTRONAUTA U M B E RTO G U I DON I È STATO OSPITE DELLA CONVENTION 2018 DI AUTOTORINO. UNA TESTIMONIANZA, LA SUA, CHE HA ANTICIPATO DI UN ANNO LE CELEBRAZIONI PER IL 50° DALLO SBARCO DELL’ UOMO SULLA LUNA E CHE È SERVITA DA SPUNTO PER ALCUNE RIFLESSIONI SUL SIGNIFICATO DEL LAVORO DI SQUADRA. Umberto Guidoni ha 65 anni. Ha partecipato a due missioni NASA a bordo dello Space Shuttle. Nel 2001 è stato il primo astronauta europeo a visitare la Stazione Spaziale Internazionale.

Nella sua carriera è stato anche europarlamentare dal 2004 al 2009.

Laureato in Astrofisica, ha lavorato con l ENEA e il CNER, fino a quando venne selezionato come specialista per la prima missione del satellite Tethered.

Si trasferisce a Houston, negli Stati Uniti, fino a quando viene selezionato alla fine degli anni Ottanta per entrare a far parte delle missioni spaziali della NASA. Vola in cielo prima con la navetta Columbia nel 1996 e cinque anni più tardi sull Endeavour, arrivando a mettere piede nella stazione orbitante internazionale.

Guidoni sognava sin da piccolo di diventare un astronauta.

Un desiderio ambizioso, che ha realizzato dopo anni di sacrificio, molto studio e lavoro, fino a volare al di là dell atmosfera.

Non sarei mai riuscito a raggiungere tutti i traguardi che ho vissuto se non ci fosse stato un lavoro di squadra ‒ conferma in un intervista concessa a IOAutotorino ‒. Tutta l attività spaziale richiede un lavoro di equipe e di collaborazione, a tutti i livelli.

Gli astronauti che siedono a bordo del veicolo spaziale sono quelli che hanno maggiore visibilità. Non bisogna però dimenticare che alle loro spalle, ci sono migliaia e migliaia di persone che per anni hanno lavorato per un obiettivo comune. Se un solo elemento non svolge il proprio compito, l intero meccanismo si inceppa e genera inefficienze, ritardi. Tutto questo è possibile anche allenandosi a risolvere i problemi, che si incontrano lungo il cammino senza paura di affrontarli .

Una lezione che continua a impegnare Umberto Guidoni nei suoi frequenti incontri incentrati su temi di divulgazione scientifica, partecipando e organizzando eventi legati allo spazio e non solo. Quando gli chiediamo quali sono i prossimi obiettivi che vorrebbe vedere realizzati dalla esplorazione spaziale, Guidoni alza gli occhi al cielo e con un sorriso, commenta: Tornare sulla Luna o, perché no, andare su Marte .

THE MAN WHO DREAMED OF THE STARS ASTRONAUT UMBERTO GUIDONI WAS AN ESTEEMED GUEST AT THE 2018 AUTOTORINO CONVENTION. HIS FASCINATING TESTIMONY ANTICIPATED BY A MERE YEAR THE CELEBRATION OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ARRIVAL OF MAN ON THE MOON AND SERVED AS AN APPROPRIATE STARTING POINT FOR SOME REFLECTIONS ON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF TEAM WORK. Umberto Guidoni is 65. He has participated in two NASA missions on board the Space Shuttle. In 2001 he was the first European astronaut to visit the International Space Station. During his working life he was also an MEP from 2004 to 2009.

Graduating in Astrophysics, he worked with ENEA and CNER, until being selected as a specialist for the first mission of the Tethered satellite. He had to move to Houston, in the United States, until he was chosen in the late 1980’s to join NASA space missions. His first spacial sortie was with the Columbia shuttle in 1996, followed five years later on the Endeavour during which he set foot on the International orbiting station.

Guidoni had dreamed of becoming an astronaut from an early age. A truly ambitious aspiration, which he achieved after years of sacrifice, study and hard work until he finally triumphed by flying beyond the Earth’s atmosphere.

“I would never have been able to achieve all the objectives that I experienced had it not been for a massive team effort” he confirmed in an interview granted to ioAutotorino, “Spacial enterprises require teamwork and collaboration at all levels. The astronauts who sit on board naturally have the most visibility.

But we must never forget that behind them there are thousands and thousands of people who for years have all been working on a common goal. If a single element fails to complete its assignment, the entire mechanism is obstructed, generating defects and delay. All is made possible by constant training to resolve problems encountered along the way without fear of addressing them”.

It’s a lesson that continues to engage Umberto Guidoni in his regular meetings focusing on issues of scientific dissemination, organising and participating in events related to Space and beyond, When we ask him what are the next objectives he would like to see fulfilled by space exploration, Guidoni looks up at the sky and with a smile observes “To get back to the Moon, or, and why not, head off to Mars”.

VEICOLI IBRIDI ED ELETTRICI TUTTI I VANTAGGI OFFERTI DAGLI ENTI PUBBLICI Regione Piemonte La Legge regionale n. 18 del 22/11/2017 (in vigore dal 23/11/2017) dispone per gli autoveicoli ibridi ad alimentazione benzina ed elettrica l esenzione dal pagamento del bollo auto per 5 anni a decorrere dalla data di immatricolazione, se con potenza uguale o inferiore a 100 kw.

Regione Lombardia Regione Lombardia prevede un contributo per coloro che demoliscono i veicoli inqui-

nanti oltre all esenzione triennale del pagamento della tassa auto per chi acquista autovetture, nuove o usate, EURO 5 o 6, a benzina, bifuel (benzina/GPL o benzina/metano) o ibride (benzina/elettrica). Inoltre, è attiva la riduzione del 50% della tassa auto per cinque anni per veicoli a doppia alimentazione benzina/elettrico, compresi quelli a ricarica esterna o GPL/elettrico o metano/elettrico, immatricolati nel 2019.

Regione Emilia Romagna Tre anni di contributi per i cittadini emiliano-romagnoli che acquistano e immatricolano nel 2019 un auto ad alimentazione ibrida, a basso impatto ambientale e a ridotto consumo energetico.

Non si tratta di una esenzione del bollo auto, ma di un contributo triennale equivalente.

Gli intestatari dell auto dovranno comunque pagare il bollo auto e inoltrare richiesta di contributo online fino alle ore 12 del 31 dicembre 2019, tramite un applicazione disponibile sul portale Ambiente del sito istituzionale della Regione Emilia Romagna. La Regione verserà ai beneficiari il relativo ammontare, fino a un massimo di 191 euro, pari al valore del bollo per un mezzo di media cilindrata.

Comune di Milano - Area C è la Zona a

traffico limitato (ZTL) del centro storico di Milano, che coincide con la Cerchia dei Bastioni, il cui accesso è inibito ai veicoli più inquinanti o vincolato al pagamento di un pedaggio per le categorie di emissione più recenti. L accesso è gratuito per i veicoli elettrici e, fino al 30 settembre 2022, anche per i veicoli ibridi a propulsione elettrico-termica.

Comune di Milano - Area B è stata introdotta dal 2019 e copre gran parte del territorio della città di Milano. È una zona a traffico limitato con divieto di accesso e circolazione per i veicoli più inquinanti oltre a quelli con lunghezza superiore ai 12 metri che trasportano merci. I veicoli elettrici o quelli ibridi a propulsione elettrico-termica non sono soggetti a restrizioni.

HYBRID AND ELECTRIC VEHICLES ADVANTAGES OFFERED

BY PUBLIC BODIES/REGIONS

Piedmont Region The regional Law n. 18 del 22/11/2017 (in force since 23/11/2017) provides hybrid cars with petrol and electric power with an exemption from payment for a period of 5 years starting at the date of registration, as long as the power is equal to or less than 100 kilowatt.

Lombardy Region The Lombardy Region is introducing a subsidy for anyone who scraps polluting vehicles in addition to the three-year exemption from payment of car tax for anyone who purchases vehicles, new or used, EURO 5 or 6, petrol, bi-fuel (petrol/LPG or petrol/methane) or hybrid (petrol/electric). In addition there is a 50% reduction in car tax for a period of 5 years for dual fuel supply vehicles, petrol/electric. Including those with external charging or LPG/electric or methane/electric, registered in 2019.

Emilia Romagna Region Three years of subsidy for citizens of Emilia Romagna who choose to purchase and register in 2019 a hybridpowered car with low environmental impact and reduced energy consumption. This is not an exemption from car tax, but the equivalent of a three-year subsidy. The car owners will still have to pay the car tax but can submit an online request for a subsidy up until 12.00 on the 31st December 2019, through an application form available on the Environmental portal on the Emilia Romagna Region website. The authority will then pay relevant claimants the appropriate sum up to a maximum of 191 euro, equal to the cost of stamp duty for a medium-capacity vehicle.

The Municipality of Milan Area C represents the limited traffic zone (ZTL) in Milan’s historic centre which corresponds to the Cerchia dei Bastioni, which is already off-limits to the most polluting vehicles or with an obligation to pay a toll for the most recent emission categories.

Access is free for electric vehicles and up until 30th September 2022, also for hybrid vehicles with electric-thermal propulsion.

Area B was introduced in 2019 and covers most of the Milan area. It is a limited traffic area with no access or circulation for the most polluting vehicles as well as those over 12 metres in length which carry goods.

Electric or the hybrid electric-thermal powered vehicles are not subject to restrictions.

Come tradisce il nome, questo passo fu un valico fondamentale nei commerci e nei transiti tra il Nord Europa e la Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia; oggi, invece, è un percorso che proietta nell ambiente protetto del Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi.

La tesi, frutto di una collaborazione durata alcuni mesi a stretto contatto con l Ufficio Sviluppi e l Ufficio Archiviazione Documentale, è incentrata sull analisi puntuale della strutturazione di questi nuovi processi e sull elaborazione del Manuale di Gestione, ovvero il documento che descrive il sistema di gestione documentale aziendale, definendone regole, procedure e responsabilità.

La scelta di Autotorino come caso di studio significativo è motivata dal fatto che il Gruppo costituisce un modello ed un esempio non solo per i suoi sviluppi imprenditoriali e per la costante attenzione all innovazione, ma anche per le modalità scelte per organizzare la propria documentazione, la propria memoria ‒ osserva la dott. ssa Bertolini ‒ che, analizzando il sistema di archiviazione documentale, aggiunge: Si tratta di un servizio complesso, unificato ed integrato, capace di gestire l ingente mole di documentazione prodotta e ricevuta quotidianamente dall Azienda, divenendo così per il Gruppo un ulteriore passaggio strategico per migliorare l efficienza interna e la crescita aziendale e per ampliare il ventaglio di offerte e servizi destinati alla clientela.

Nello specifico Autotorino, dotandosi del Manuale di Gestione, è forse l unica Azienda italiana con questo strumento (obbligatorio invece per tutti gli Enti pubblici), cruciale per accompagnare consapevolmente il cambiamento voluto e attuato dall Azienda .

PROJECTS AUTOTORINO NOPAPER BECOMES A THESIS The Project Autotorino NOPaper is already an integral part of the management and organisational model of the Group. Having received the 2018 Management Innovation Award on Automotive Dealer Day, it has also now become a case study for a Master’s degree at the University of Florence. “Work in progress” began back in 2016, became fully up and running in 2018 and is now in continuous refinement. Autotorino NOPaper enables advanced digitalised management of production, storage and research of documents produced daily in company affairs. It’s a system which reflects the efficiency of the internal processes which facilitate a prompt response to all transactions and requirements that might link the Dealership to the customer. Consider, for example, the Advanced Electronic Signature, which gives legal authority to digitally signed documents, whilst at the same time reducing the use of paper in the drawing up of contracts, their immediate creation and digital storage.

The NOPaper project has attracted the interest of one Greta Bertolini, who in order to put together the thesis for her second level Master’s Degree in Archival and Library Science and Codicology at the University of Florence, has chosen to examine matters in depth adopting the theme “Document Management within Companies: the Autotorino Spa case”.

A thesis which is the result of months-long collaborations and which involved studying at close quarters the work of the New Processes Development Office and Digital Archiving Office, which then led to the preparation of a serious analysis of the structuring of these new processes, and which concludes with an appendix on the Document Management Manual.

“One of the key strengths of Autotorino is its attentiveness to change which is followed by constant innovation, allowing it to keep pace with customer requirements and market developments” observes Dr Bertolini, who in the specific case of NOPaper, adds “these are actions and tools aimed at increasing internal efficiency and business growth, which is leading Autotorino not only to dematerialise its processes, but also to diversify and expand the range of propositions and services aimed at customers within the realm of car sales and mobility services”.

GOLF CHALLENGE CPA AD OGNI TAPPA LA ONLUS E AUTOTORINO CONSEGNANO UN’AUTO AD UNA ASSOCIAZIONE DEL TERRITORIO IMPEGNATA A FIANCO DI CANCRO PRIMO AIUTO. È un successo la terza edizione per il Golf Challenge CPA 2019, promosso da Cancro Primo Aiuto in 13 tappe. La kermesse sportivo-benefica è stata presentata il 14 marzo a Villa Walter Fontana a Capriano di Briosco (MB). Organizzato tramite l associazione sportiva Oltre CPA , e sostenuto da Regione Lombardia, il Golf Challenge Cancro Primo Aiuto si arricchisce di un iniziativa senza precedenti: in dieci delle 13 tappe sono state donate altrettante vetture ad associazioni che si occupano di cure domiciliari o trasporto di malati oncologici presso le strutture sanitarie per seguire i percorsi terapeutici. Un progetto da tempo sostenuto anche dal Gruppo Autotorino, partner in questa iniziativa che consente lo sviluppo efficace e capillare di una rete di solidarietà e volontariato che annovera centinaia di associazioni molto attive.

Anche quest anno la gara benefica di Cancro Primo Aiuto premierà l abilità. Per chi compirà il fatidico hole in one - la buca in un solo colpo - è in palio una smart fortwo firmata Gruppo Autotorino. La gara ha preso il via il 7 aprile 2019 dal Golf Club Vigevano e concluderà il 6 ottobre 2019, al Golf Club Varese. Sono previste 11 tappe in Lombardia, una in Piemonte e una in Sardegna. Le gare sono rivolte a golfisti non professionisti di tutte le età e si svolgono secondo la formula Stableford Hcp 3 Categorie.

AT EACH STAGE OF THE TOURNAMENT AUTOTORINO HAS CONSIGNED A CAR TO ONE OF THE TERRITORY’S ORGANISATIONS WORKING ALONGSIDE CANCRO PRIMO AIUTO. (CANCER FIRST AID) The third staging of the CPA Golf Challenge 2019, promoted by Cancro Primo Aiuto in 13 legs is already well under way. The Sports-Charity event was introduced on the 14th March at Villa Walter Fontana a Capriano di Briosco (MB). Organised through the sports association “Oltre CPA”, and supported by the Lombardy Region, the Golf Challenge Cancro Primo Aiuto is augmented this year by an unprecedented initiative: in ten of the 13 legs an equivalent number of cars have been donated to associations that are involved in home care or transport of cancer patients to health facilities in order to undergo therapeutic courses of treatment. It’s a Project which has also been supported long-term by the Autotorino Group, partner in an initiative which encourages the effective and widespread development of a network of support and voluntary work which incorporates hundreds of very committed organisations.

And once again this year the Cancer First Aid Charity tournament will reward the highlyskilled. For anyone who manages to achieve the deadly hole in one – a single shot at any hole – an Autotorino smart fortwo vehicle is up for grabs! The competition got under way on the 7th April 2019 at the Golf Club Vigevano and will come to a conclusion on the 6th October at Golf Club Varese. 11 stages are scheduled at Lombardy clubs, one in Piedmont and one in Sardinia. The tournaments are open to amateur golfers of all ages and abide by the formula Stableford Hcp 3 Category.

All interno dell Azienda Agrituristica La Fiorida potrete scegliere tra due ristoranti. Il Ristorante La Preséf - Stella Michelin - è il punto più alto della ricerca gastronomica a filiera corta, che eleva ai vertici del gusto le produzioni dell azienda. È chiuso la domenica ed il lunedì. Il Ristorante Quattro Stagioni propone invece un interpretazione fantasiosa ed innovativa della cucina tradizionale valtellinese ed esalta le produzioni dell azienda agricola quali carni, formaggi, ortaggi e piccoli frutti. È sempre aperto.

La mezza pensione o la pensione completa, se prevista nel pacchetto scelto, vengono proposte nel Ristorante Quattro Stagioni con un menù dedicato alla piccola carta, bevande escluse.

The holiday farm Agriturismo La Fiorida is situated in lower Valtellina at Mantello, in a particularly striking Alpine area. FATTORIA Come nasce il progetto de La Fiorida: dall’organizzazione degli spazi ai prodotti portati in tavola.

Sin da piccoli, se pensiamo ad una fattoria, iniziamo a disegnare nella nostra mente un campo verde su cui collochiamo una staccionata e una grande stalla. La Fiorida è nata proprio così, per dare corpo al sogno del suo fondatore Plinio Vanini di una fattoria in cui convivessero tradizioni e una moderna organizzazione attenta al benessere animale.

La stalla è infatti stato il primo embrione attorno cui, nel 2000, si è sviluppata l autentica fattoria alpina che oggi conosciamo. Al suo interno presenta spazi adatti a garantire grande vivibilità ai 200 bovini qui allevati, seguiti anche attraverso un sistema di controllo e di gestione informatizzato, il cui obiettivo è quello di monitorare le vacche di razza bruna nella salute e nelle fasi di alimentazione e crescita quotidiana. Da questo allevamento, negli anni, sono nate vere e proprie dinastie di campionesse italiane, anche attraverso progetti di selezione genetica condotti in collaborazione con diversi allevatori valtellinesi. Vera e propria matriarca è Mariolina, che a 14 anni è più di una mascotte, è parte carismatica della famiglia de La Fiorida. Il loro nutrimento proviene dal vicino fienile: fieno e mais prodotto direttamente dall azienda, frutto della lavorazione di circa 60 ettari nel territorio della Bassa Valtellina, che consente di assolvere all intero fabbisogno alimentare degli animali.

AUTENTICA Gli stessi principi di vivibilità e benessere hanno caratterizzano la successiva costruzione della porcilaia, con una suddivisione in aree per le scrofe, il verro e per i piccoli nati. Questi ultimi hanno a disposizione dalla nascita uno spazio riscaldato, la sala parto, dove restano accanto alla scrofa fino allo svezzamento. Dal siero residuo della quotidiana lavorazione del latte viene tratto il loro nutrimento, a compimento di una filiera corta, circolare e di qualità rivolta anche, e soprattutto, agli animali allevati.

Successivamente si è aggiunto anche un piccolo allevamento di capre, che forniscono il latte necessario ad arricchire la gamma delle produzioni casearie. Una concezione che offre tutti i requisiti per creare, in caseificio come in salumificio, e poi nella ristorazione del Quattro Stagioni o della Stella Michelin La Preséf , prodotti sostenibili, genuini e sicuri.

La fattoria de La Fiorida rappresenta un importante tassello nel mantenimento di ampie superfici di ambiente e territorio attraverso la pratica agricola. È anche un momento di importante trasmissione educativa a bimbi e famiglie, grazie alle periodiche Fattorie Didattiche organizzate da personale dedicato.

E proprio questo è il bello dei sogni: non tenerli solo per se stessi, ma poterli condividere gioiosamente con qualcuno.

AN AUTHENTIC FARM

HOW LA FIORIDA’S REMARKABLE PROJECT CAME TO LIFE: FROM THE ORGANISATION OF SPACES TO PRODUCTS BROUGHT TO THE TABLE. From childhood, if invited to think of a farm, we begin to picture a green field in which we place a fence and a large barn. La Fiorida was created in precisely that fashion, to give substance to the dream of its founder, Plinio Vanini, of a farm where tradition and a modern organisation attentive to animal welfare could happily co-exist. The barn was in fact to be the embryo around which, in 2000, the authentic Alpine farm we recognise today developed. It’s interior presented spaces appropriate for 200 cattle to live agreeably while they were being raised, and also followed through a computerised management system, whose objective was to monitor daily the health and nutrition of an Alpine Bruna herd. Over the years from this very same breeding operation, dynasties of genuine Italian champions were reared, alongside a programme of genetic selection conducted in collaboration with several Valtellina breeders. The true matriarch is Mariolina, who at 14 is more than a symbolic mascot, rather a vital and charismatic part of the La Fiorida family. Today nutrition comes from a barn nearby: hay and maize produced by the organisation itself, the result of the cultivation of around 60 hectares in Lower Valtellina, which manages to meet the entire requirements for animal fodder. The same principles

offering an amenable existence and well-being have characterised the subsequent construction of the pigsty, subdivided into areas for the sows, the boar and the newly-born.

The piglets.- from birth – enjoy a heated space, the delivery room where they remain next to the sow until weaning. Sustenance is provided by the residual whey from the daily milk production, the consummation of a short, circular chain of quality and aimed specifically at the farmed animals. Next to be introduced was a small goat herd, which provides the milk needed to enrich the range of dairy products on offer.

It’s a conceit which provides all the requisites in order to create, in the dairy just as in the cured meat facility and then within the catering of “Quattro Stagioni” or the Michelin starred “La Preséf”, sustainable, genuine and healthy products.

The La Fiorida farm complex represents a crucial element in maintaining vast areas of the environment and territory through agricultural practice. It’s also an important aid in the education of children and families, thanks to the regular “Farm Education Events” organised by dedicated staff.

And this has to be the real beauty of dreams: not keeping them to yourself but sharing them joyfully with anybody else who will listen!

UNA GIORNATA IN FATTORIA

La Fiorida, accreditata nel circuito delle Fattorie Didattiche di Regione Lombardia, propone giornate pensate per famiglie o gruppi (anche scolastici) di grandi e piccini. In queste esperienze gli ospiti sono guidati in una visita della parte agricola e produttiva della fattoria, seguita da un pranzo tradizionale e da laboratori didattici tematici, incentrati, ad esempio, su come produrre il burro e il formaggio con le proprie mani.

A DAY ON THE FARM

La Fiorida, accredited within the Lombardy Region Educational Farms circuit, proposes days designed for families or groups (including schools) for young and old. During these events the visitors are taken on guided tours to both the agricultural and production areas of the farm, followed by a traditional lunch and then thematic educational workshops, focusing for example on how to make butter and cheese, using their own hands.

9.30 - meet up at the Farm Shop and registration of participants; 10.00 – to the Farm to tend to the animals, feeding and getting to know them and their needs; visit to the milking parlour, the dairy and the area for cheese maturation and finally back to the shop; 12.15 – lunch “from the earth to the table” menù with tastings of our very own cured meats and cheeses, handworked pizzoccheri, dessert, water, wine and coffee; 14.30 – everyone to work: the educational workshops commence.

NUOVA FORMULA

IL BITTO E LE STELLE Ogni autunno La Fiorida rende omaggio al Bitto, Re dei Formaggi d Alpeggio, con una festa speciale. Nei giorni in cui le sue forme, dai maggenghi, prendono la via del fondovalle, va in scena il Bitto e le Stelle, l evento con cui ne si celebra l inestimabile significato che esprime per il mantenimento di tradizioni e ambiente, nonché per l inimitabile ricchezza di sapori.

In questa occasione, chef Gianni Tarabini condivide con numerosi colleghi Stelle Michelin la creazione di un percorso di degustazione in cui il Bitto racconta se stesso, incontrando sorprendenti interpretazioni e abbinamenti nelle creazioni pensate appositamente per l evento. Nel corso degli anni si sono avvicendati numerosi e affermati talenti della cucina italiana e internazionale; citarne solo alcuni sarebbe sminuente.

Ma protagonista ispiratore è sempre il formaggio Bitto, frutto di un arte casearia dal rituale immutato da secoli, che si svolge in alta montagna esclusivamente da giugno a settembre. Una fonte di gusto e sapori che assume significati particolari, come lo scorso anno, quando una forma di Bitto stagionata 18 anni è stata inoltre protagonista di un incanto benefico, in-

teramente devoluto ai progetti di Cancro Primo Aiuto ONLUS. L edizione 2019 de il Bitto e le Stelle riassumerà in sé tutti questi aspetti, modificando la propria formula, pur mantenendola fedele a se stessa: la partecipazione, infatti, sarà aperta a 350 persone, previa registrazione attraverso il sito www.lafiorida.com.

Il percorso di degustazione tra i sapori delle produzioni dei casari e dei salumai de La Fiorida, attraverso le proposte di chef Gianni Tarabini e dei suoi colleghi ospiti, sino all immancabile degustazione verticale di varie stagionature di Bitto, promuoverà infatti una raccolta fondi per i progetti d assistenza domiciliare medica sostenuti sul territorio della Valtellina da Cancro Primo Aiuto ONLUS, a supporto della ASST Valtellina e Alto Lario.

BITTO AND THE STARS NEW FORMULA

Every Autumn La Fiorida pays tribute to Bitto, King of Alpine Cheeses, with a special celebration. It’s the period when the cheese rounds are on their way down from the upper pastures to the valley floor, and when il Bitto e le Stelle itself takes shape. An event which celebrates the real significance and importance of the preservation of traditions and the environment, as well of course of the inimitable wealth of flavours of the Monarch.

taste and flavours which sometimes take on a rather special significance, like last year when a Bitto cheese matured for fully 18 years became the real star of a charity auction, entirely dedicated to the Cancro Primo Aiuto ONLUS projects.

The 2019 staging of il Bitto e le Stelle will encapsulate all the aforementioned aspects, modifying its formula somewhat whilst remaining true to itself: participation will be open to 350 people through registration at www.lafiorida.com.

And it’s on this rather special occasion that chef Gianni Tarabini combines with a number of fellow Michelin-starred colleagues to create a tasting itinerary in which the Bitto reveals itself in all its pomp, and at the same time throws up some surprising interpretations and combinations in creations specifically designed for the event. Over the years many illustrious talents within both Italian and International cuisine have played their part; to name just a handful would be to simply downplay the rest. But the inspiration and star of the show is invariably the Bitto cheese itself, the product of a cheese-making craft that has remained unchanged for centuries, and which takes place in the upper pastures exclusively between June and September. It’s a source of

IL BITTO E LE STELLE PER IL SOCIALE

Il Bitto e Le Stelle 2019 lancia un messaggio di sensibilizzazione attraverso un progetto che la ONLUS Cancro Primo Aiuto, da anni in prima linea a sostenere associazioni di volontariato e strutture ospedaliere impegnate nella cura e nell assistenza oncologica, focalizza sulla Valtellina con due linee di cure palliative domiciliari. Una dedicata alla terapia oncologica, l altra per chi soffre di dolore cronico. L idea da cui nasce questo progetto è quella di essere presenti su tutto il territorio di questa provincia montana molto articolata, con un servizio che permetta di raggiungere e trattare i pazienti direttamente a casa loro. Un servizio che prevede il coinvolgimento di medici, psicologi, infermieri, fisioterapisti, personale OSS specializzato e volontari qualificati, con reperibilità e intervento garantiti ventiquattr ore su ventiquattro. Ciò significa non più vincolare chi ha bisogno ad un orario d ambulatorio e ad una trasferta verso il più vicino presidio sanitario attrezzato, ma viceversa, entrare nella reale prospettiva di prendersi cura della persona nel momento stesso del bisogno . così descrive l iniziativa il dott. Fabio Rubino, Dirigente degli Hospice della ASST Valtellina e Alto Lario.

WITHIN THE COMMUNITY Bitto and the Stars

2019 is launching a plea to raise awareness of the Project ONLUS Cancer First Aid, which for years has been engaged on the front line in support of voluntary organisations and hospitals involved in cancer care and treatments, and focusing on Valtellina and two well-defined home care palliative initiatives. One dedicated to cancer therapy, the other for those suffering from chronic pain. “The idea behind this project is the desire to be present throughout the entirety of this mountainous province in a highly-structured fashion, providing a service which allows patients to be treated within

their own homes. A service which envisages the involvement of doctors, psychologists, nurses, physiotherapists, specialised OSS personnel and qualified volunteers, with availability and intervention guaranteed around the clock. This means no longer constraining those in urgent need to the hours of an outpatient clinic and/or a transfer to the nearest appropriately equipped health centre, but instead to provide the genuine prospect of taking care of a person at crucial and decisive moments�. Precisely how Dr Fabio Rubino, Director of Hospices of the ASST Valtellina and Alto Lario, views the ambitious initiative.

Fragole fresche, sorbetto, meringa e crema al limone.

R I C ETTA

Crema di limone:

Dalle colture de La Fiorida, un dolce ricco di sentori di bosco. Un piacere da provare nella carta del ristorante Quattro Stagioni, di cui sveliamo i segreti per riproporne le sensazioni anche a casa.

Ilaria Redaelli, Pastry Chef de La Fiorida, presenta una proposta che valorizza la stagionalità e chiude il pasto con vera freschezza e gusto.

Diplomata alla Scuola Monteolimpino di Como, affina e sviluppa la sua formazione collaborando con vere e proprie perle dell ospitalità italiana: il Castello di Casiglio (CO), Principe Forte dei Marmi, Grand Hotel Miramare Santa Margherita Ligure, il Castadiva Resort di Blevio (CO), Sirmione Palace, Hotel Villa Cortina, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco di Montalcino, il Belmond Villa San Michele e il Belmond Splendido di Portofino, fino al Bellagio Hotel Belvedere per poi approdare a La Fiorida, di cui abbraccia i valori fondati sulla qualità delle materie prime, prodotte a pochi passi dalla cucina.

225 g succo di limone, una scorza di limone, 173 g di zucchero, 90 g tuorli, 113 g uova intere, 5 g colla di pesce, 165 g burro.

Scaldare il succo di limone in una casseruola.

A parte unire uova, zucchero, e tuorlo con una frusta.

Poco alla volta unire il succo al composto e riportare sul fuoco, continuando a girare fino a quando bolle.

Far raffreddare in una boule e unire la colla di pesce precedentemente ammollata in acqua fredda.

Far riposare il composto in frigo con la pellicola, per evitare che si formi una patina alla crema, e successivamente incorporare con una frusta il burro ammorbidito.

Utilizzare la crema così ottenuta solo il giorno seguente, dopo averla fatta riposare in frigo in una sacca a poche.

Meringa:

100 g albume fresco, 200 g zucchero semolato.

Montare in una planetaria con una frusta fino a quando il composto sarà ben omogeneo e spumoso. Mettere in una sacca a poche e disporre gemme di composto su una teglia su cui precedentemente si è stesa una carta forno. Cuocere in forno statico per 4/5 ore a 90 .

Salsa Frutti Rossi:

250g Fragola 125g zucchero Cuocere e portare a bollore per qualche minuto, successivamente mixare e utilizzare a freddo.

RECIPE

FRESH STRAWBERRIES, SORBET, MERINGUE AND LEMON CREAM. From La Fiorida’s very own production, a dessert packed with the scents and suggestions of woodland. A real pleasure to enjoy from the menu of the Quattro Stagione restaurant, but in the meantime we’ll reveal the secrets for some satisfying sensations even at home.

Ilaria Redaelli, Pastry Chef at La Fiorida, is proposing a delicious dessert which takes full advantage of seasonality and brings your meal to a close with genuine freshness and flavour.

A graduate of the Scuola Monteolimpino in Como, she developed and refined her training by joining forces with some of the real “pearls” of Italian hospitality: il Castello di Casiglio (CO), Principe Forte dei Marmi, Grand Hotel Miramare Santa Margherita Ligure, il Castadiva Resort di Blevio (CO), Sirmione Palace, Hotel Villa Cortina, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco di Montalcino, il Belmond Villa San Michele and il Belmond Splendido di Portofino, ending up at the Hotel Belvedere, Bellagio before joining La Fiorida where she immediately embraced the values founded on the sheer quality of raw materials, produced a stone’s throw away from her kitchen.

LEMON CREAM:

225 g lemon juice with a lemon rind, 173 g of sugar, 90 g egg yolks, 113 g egg, 5 g gelatin, 165 g butter.

Heat the lemon juice in a saucepan. Aside, mix the egg, sugar and egg yolks together with a whisk. Very gradually add the juice to the mixture and return to the heat continuing to stir until it boils. Allow to cool in a basin and add the gelatine having previously dunked in cold water. Allow the mix to rest in the fridge with its skin, to prevent the formation of a patina with the cream, and then combine the softened butter with a whisk. Use the cream thus obtained only on the following day, after having left it to rest in the fridge in a pastry bag.

MERINGUE:

100 g fresh egg white, 200 g caster sugar.

Place the mixture in a blender and whisk until the mix is nicely homogeneous and frothy. Now place the contents in a pastry bag and distribute in small pearl form on a baking tray lined with oven paper. Bake in a conventional oven for 4/5 hours at 90°.

RED FRUIT SAUCE:

250 g strawberries, 125 g sugar Heat and bring to the boil for a few minutes, subsequently mix and use cold.

AUFGUSS RITO DI BENESSERE Se immagini il tuo relax in una spa, con ogni probabilità ti proietti già all interno di una sauna. Forse perché è un elemento iconico dei momenti di benessere, forse perché amiamo questa pratica per la sua capacità di rigenerarci. Ma hai mai sentito parlare del rituale dell aufguss e dei suoi benefici?

Da quest anno la sauna de La Fiorida ospita questo rituale deuprativo, che letteralmente significa gettata di vapore , grazie a tutte le operatrici e gli operatori qualificatisi Maestri di Sauna e Hammam, che creano dei veri e propri eventi di benessere.

Ciascun evento si configura come un rito dal potere rilassante, detox o rigenerante, grazie alla sapiente scelta di essenze con cui vengono aromatizzate le gettate di vapore.

Ma come si sviluppa? I Maestri di Sauna versano ghiaccio arricchito da oli essenziali (ad esempio limone, tea tree, menta, eucalipto, arancia dolce, lavanda scelti in base al percorso che si vuole proporre) sulle pietre roventi del braciere, così da aumentare l umidità e la percezione di calore, sviluppando una maggior sudorazione rispetto ad una sauna tradizionale, contribuendo ad eliminare di una maggiore quantità di tossine. In una sorta di armonica ed efficace coreografia, i Maestri di Sauna che conducono il rito aufguss sventolano al centro della sauna un ampio asciugamano secondo gesti precisi, creando movimenti convettivi d aria calda in tutto l ambiente, favorendo anche la diffusione e gli effetti degli aromi precedentemente sprigionati dalle essenze miscelate con il ghiaccio fuso sul braciere.

Durante questo percorso, i Maestri di Sauna spiegano ogni gesto e il potere degli oli utilizzati, così da permettere a tutti i partecipanti di apprezzarne al massimo i benefici.

AUFGUSS, THE RITUAL WHICH HAS TRANSFORMED THE SAUNA

When you imagine relaxing in the environment of a spa, in all likelihood you’ll see yourself ready to head for the sauna.

And rightly so as it represents part of those classic opportunities for well-being, also perhaps because of its well-appreciated regeneration potential. But have you ever heard of the aufguss ritual and its benefits?

From this year on the sauna at La Fiorida will host this highly cleansing experience, which literally means “steaming”. The supervisors, who are all qualified Sauna and Hammam instructors, will be on hand every Saturday and Sunday at 17.00 to create events of genuine well-being.

Each session is arranged as a ritual with a relaxing, detox or regenerating potency, thanks to the enlightened selection of essence to spice up the steam. But how does it all work?

The Sauna Maestri pour ice enriched with essential oils (for example lemon, tea tree, mint, eucalyptus, sweet orange, lavender – chosen according to the path on which you want to embark) onto the hot stones of the brazier, so as to increase the humidity and the sense of heat, stimulating heavier perspiration than within a traditional sauna. This innovation also helps to eliminate more toxins. And in a delightful manner of harmonious and articulate choreography, the sauna maestra conducts the aufguss ritual by flapping a large towel in a precise rhythm in order to create currents of hot air throughout the entire environment thereby encouraging the diffusion and efficacy of the aromas released earlier by the essences.

During the course of the treatment the Sauna instructor will explain each gesture and the potency of the oils used, to allow participants to fully appreciate the benefits.

La Fiorida sauna demonstrations are scheduled for every Saturday and Sunday at 17.00 and can be accessed by booking at the reception area of the spa and wellness centre.

Il lato occidentale del Lago di Como propone una bella pista ciclabile lungo la riva comasca, tra Sorico e Domaso.

Partenza: La Fiorida

La ciclabile corre lungo il fiume Adda, che transita proprio davanti all Agriturismo. Si segue l intero tracciato fino all Oasi Naturale del Pian di Spagna, che si attraversa per raggiungere il versante comasco del lago a Sorico. Da qui il percorso ciclabile segue la costa del lago fino a Gravedona e Dongo. Un tracciato facile, tutto pianeggiante lungo quasi 30 chilometri. I punti dove effettuare una sosta non mancano di certo e organizzandosi per tempo, vi suggeriamo di fare un bel pic-nic sui prati antistanti i numerosi parchi frequantati dagli appassionati di windsurf e kitesurf.

Rientro in battello A fine giornata si può optare per il rientro in bici oppure per una bella esperienza in battello fino a Colico, con attracchi a Dongo, Gravedona e Domaso (orari dei battelli: www.navigazionelaghi.it). Il Lago di Como è conosciuto in tutto il mondo per i suoi scorci romantici per le belle dimore signorili che si possono apprezzare meglio dalla prospettiva del lago.

Per valorizzare i percorsi riservati alle due ruote dentate, La Fiorida ha pubblicato recentemente la guida Percorsi per mountain bike nella zona del Lago di Como . Il volume, disponibile in reception e curato dall esperto Andreas Albrecht, si pone come obiettivo quello di realizzare una guida GPS per bici. I percorsi descritti contengono cartine sinottiche dettagliate a colori e profili altimetrici dai quali emerge la natura del fondo stradale e la pendenza.

MOUNTAIN BIKE HEADING FOR LAKE COMO La Fiorida represents the ideal base for mountain bike excursions. And that’s why a particularly useful guide has been put together which proposes any number of itineraries in the countryside surrounding the holiday farm, one of which is a route which leads you as far as Gravedona. The Western bank of Lake Como proffers a splendid, long cycle path along the shore between Sorico and Domaso.

Departure: La Fiorida The cycle path hugs the side of the river Adda, which passes directly in front of the Agriturismo. Follow the pathway as far as the Pian di Spagna Nature Reserve, take an enjoyable traverse through it to reach the western side of the lake at Sorico. From here the cycle path skirts the shores of the lake as far as Gravedona and Dongo. It’s a gentle route, always on the level for almost 30 kilometres. There’s no shortage of spots where you can take a break and if you’ve come well-prepared we suggest having a relaxing picnic in the meadows across from the countless parks popular with wind and kite-surf enthusiasts.

Come back by boat At the end of the day you might opt to come back by bike or indeed enjoy a leisurely boat trip to Colico, with dockings at Dongo, Gravedona, and Domaso along the way (boat timetables at: www.navigazionelaghi.it). Lake Como is recognised throughout the world for its romantic tableaux and magnificent stately homes which can be readily appreciated from a lake perspective.

Bike Guide To fully take advantage of the plethora of paths dedicated to the two-wheel brigade, La Fiorida has recently published the guide “Mountain bike excursions round and about Lake Como”. The publication, available at reception and compiled by expert Andreas Albrecht, aims to create a GPS guide for bicycles. The projected routes are accompanied by detailed synoptic maps in colour and elevation profiles from which emerges the nature of the road surfaces, the slope and the background.

NATURALLY GOOD As authentic as fresh milk and home-produced seasonal farm fruit, the result of a simple and natural recipe with nothing other required. The new range of La Fiorida Ice Cream was the combined brainchild of an inspired chef Gianni Tarabini alongside the imagination of Simone Bonini. Created with a genuine craftsmanship using raw materials from the farm’s short supply chain, namely milk from the home-reared cattle and seasonal produce from the expansive garden, La Fiorida’s fresh new ice cream is an absolute delight to be enjoyed as a classic take-away from the Farm Shop, with the Gourmet treat revealing a surprising caprice.

Gianni Tarabini, Michelin-Starred Executive Chef of La Fiorida and Simone Bonini, entrepreneur and master Florentine ice-cream maker and founder of the Gelato Carapina concept were aiming to reproduce for the guests at the Valtellina Holiday and Beauty Farm, combinations and creations which bring together genuine and top of the range ingredients, in the age-old tradition of craft ice-cream production along with gourmet gastronomic innovation, for a unique sensory experience.

The La Fiorida ice-cream product has been appreciated by multitudes; as an invigorating refreshment on a pause during a wander along the nearby Sentiero Valtellina, or indeed as a dessert on the Menu of the “starred” La Preséf restaurant. There was inevitably a combination too of surprise, delight and consensus which was immediately evident on the faces of those invited by Tarabini and Bonini to try for themselves some of the many Gourmet Ice-Cream concoctions during recent cooking exhibitions and events, such as the ‘Fuorisalone’ 2019 in Milan.

VIAGGIO ALLA SCOPERTA DI UNA DELLE ESPERIENZE PIÙ SUGGESTIVE AL MONDO, PATRIMONIO DELL’ UNESCO. Ci sono emozionanti bellezze che una persona deve vedere almeno una volta nella sua vita.

Tra queste rientra a pieno titolo anche il viaggio sul Trenino Rosso del Bernina, a cavallo tra Italia e Svizzera. Si tratta di un opera di ingegneria che ha vinto i pendii alpini, tra paesaggi che si confondono con le emozioni, diventando Patrimonio dell UNESCO con la sua tratta che unisce la Valtellina con l Engadina e l interno del Canton Grigioni.

L ultracentenaria storia del Bernina inizia nel 1881, quando cominciò a farsi largo l idea di una linea che unisse la Svizzera interna (Coira, Landquart, Davos) con l Engadina (St. Moritz) per poi attraversare la Valposchiavo, sino a raggiungere la Valtellina a Tirano, in Italia.

Una direttrice che aveva sì scopi di collegamento commerciale per il trasporto merci, ma in cui i promotori videro subito un potenziale turistico, tanto che a due soli anni d esercizio, nel 1912, la linea assurse già a fama internazionale.

Un collegamento tra diverse identità nazionali e regionali, linguistiche e culturali, capace di portare dal mite fondovalle valtellinese fino ai scintillanti ghiacciai alpini in modo spettacolare: la tratta ferroviaria s inserisce armoniosamente nella cornice montana dell Albula e del Bernina, grazie a 55 gallerie, 196 viadotti e pendenze fino al 70 per mille che il convoglio affronta e vince senza cenno di fatica in ogni stagione dell anno, spingendosi sino all altitudine massima di 2253 metri. Qui, all Ospizio Bernina, si raggiunge un vero e proprio tetto delle Alpi .

Il percorso è integrato nel contesto naturale, in un perfetto connubio tra ferrovia e paesaggio, il cui avanzare è scandito da vigneti, frutteti, castagneti, boschi e le brulle alte quote, per poi ridiscendere nell incantevole e soleggiata Engadina. Lungo il percorso il monumentale incontro con i simboli di come l ingegno umano ha domato l asperità della natura e dei pendii: il viadotto circolare di Brusio, mirabile esempio di architettura strutturale applicata ai ponti della linea del Bernina, o il viadotto di Landwasser, lungo 136 metri, simbolo della Ferrovia Retica.

BERNINA RED TRAIN

THE ALPINE TRAIN JOURNEY TO DISCOVER ONE OF THE MOST AWESOME EXPERIENCES IN THE WORLD AT A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE There are some strikingly beautiful settings that a person must enjoy at least once in his life. High on the list the trip on the Bernina Red Train between Italy and Switzerland must surely feature. It’s a piece of engineering work which has surmounted the Alpine slopes, amid landscapes which stir one’s emotions, and which became a UNESCO World Heritage site with its link between Valtellina, the Engadine and the interior of the canton Grigioni.

The century-old history of the Bernina begins in 1881, when the idea of a line uniting the Swiss interior (Chur, Landquart, Davos) with the Engadine (St. Moritz) was mooted, prior to a route crossing the Valposchiavo, to reach Valtellina at Tirano, in Italy. The original premise was to create a commercial link, with a view to transporting freight, but the promoters very quickly spotted the tourist potential, so much so that within two years of it operating, in 1912, the line had assumed an international reputation.

An interconnection between diverse national and regional, linguistic and cultural identities, capable of carrying you from the temperate valley bottom of Valtellina as far as the aweinspiring Alpine glaciers in spectacular fashion: a railway line interposed in complete harmony with the mountain setting of Albula and Bernina, thanks to 55 tunnels,196 viaducts and gradients of up to 7% which il trenino rosso tackles effortlessly, winter and summer alike, whilst reaching a maximum altitude of 2253 metres. Here at the Ospizio Bernina you really have reached the very “rooftop of the Alps”.

The itinerary is subtly integrated within the natural setting, in a perfect union of railway and landscape; progress is marked by vineyards, orchards, chestnut groves, woodland and stark upper sections, before coming back down to the magical and sun-kissed Engadine. And along the way you can only wonder as you encounter monuments showing how man’s ingenuity mastered the very harshness of nature and the mountains: the circular viaduct at Brusio, wonderful examples of constructional architecture employed at bridges along the Bernina section, or the viaduct at Landwasser, 136 metres in length, and a real emblem of the Rhaetian railway.

VAL CODERA

VALLE INCANTATA

La Val Codera è una delle vallate più suggestive della provincia di Sondrio, per via della sua selvaggia e naturale bellezza. È infatti ancora priva di accessi viabilistici e mantiene così la sua connotazione senza tempo, in cui si sono conservati non solo paesaggi e fauna, ma anche leggende e, a quanto pare, anche i loro protagonisti, tutti legati a ombre, presenze inquietanti o dispettose stregonerie.

Sempre una leggenda narra della sua origine non luminosa, che stride con la bellezza che sa donare a chi la visita: si dice che a Dio, dopo aver creato la Terra, avanzasse un mucchio di pietre che sparse alla rinfusa e senza curarsi, creando così questa valle, il cui nome infatti deriva da cotaria o cote , cioè masso.

Molti anziani raccontano ancora di aver udito, o aver vissuto di persona, incontri con uomini ed animali misteriosi, rivelatisi poi manifestazioni di anime inquiete o di streghe. Per questo, chi fa un escursione in Val Codera, incontrando i valligiani deve stare sempre ben attento nell etichettare le leggende come immaginazione popolare: c è ancora chi giura di aver visto i protagonisti delle vicende tramandate nei secoli o di

essere testimone diretto del loro manifestarsi.

Non a caso, uno dei detti più diffusi da queste parti è suna l Ave Maria, gira la stria ( al suono dell Ave Maria le streghe escono in giro ). La gente della valle sa da sempre che spiriti ed esseri malefici possono scatenare il loro potere dall imbrunire, o meglio dal suono dell Ave Maria alle sei di sera, sino ai primi rintocchi del mattino. Ma il suono di questa campana, la Bàrbula, poteva anche salvare dagli spiriti, inibendo loro dall insidiare i viandanti.

C è ancora chi ricorda come, una volta, appunto la Bàrbula salvò una donna costretta a tornare a notte fonda a Codera dopo avere acquistato una medicina a Novate, sul fondovalle, a 2 ore di buon cammino.

Costei incontrò ad Avedèe, località dalla quale si comincia a vedere la valle, quattro uomini con una lanterna, proprio mentre udiva il rintocco dell Ave Maria mattutina. Erano spiriti, e le dissero scomparendo che se non fosse suonata la campana, l avrebbero portata via con sé.

E si può ancora incontrare chi ha avuto a che fare con il Valfubia, uomo vissuto secoli addietro, e che invece

di lavorare rubava. Fu così condannato a peregrinare ogni notte con vestiti strani così da essere riconoscibile, ma lui sviluppò l abilità di mostrare sempre una faccia ed una sembianza diverse, spaventando con soffi, rumori o dispetti le persone. Negli scorsi anni Novanta un abitante della località Bresciadega racconta che una sera era in baita, con la Fiorina, mia figlia e il suo fidanzato, un agente. Stavo preparando il caffè e, mentre bolliva, sono uscita di pochi passi dall uscio. Non c era anima viva, né uomini né animali. Mentre mi chinavo ho sentito un soffio molto forte che mi ha travolto, allora sono rientrata di corsa nella baita, molto spaventata. L agente è corso fuori con un arma, ma non c era nessuno. Era uno scherzo del Valfubia che voleva farmi spaventare, e c era riuscito! Da allora, tutte le sere, dopo aver munto le mucche, tornavo alla baita con un bastone, una torcia elettrica e un rosario in tasca. Da quella sera il Valfubia non mi ha fatto più scherzi, però so che a turno prende di mira quasi tutti (testimonianza tratta da Cera una Volta , raccolta di leggende valtellinesi e valchiavennasche edita nel 1994).

Val Codera is one of the most picturesque valleys within the province of Sondrio, owing as much as anything to its wild and natural beauty. In fact it remains today devoid of road access and thus still retains its timeless character, in which not only have landscapes, flora and fauna been preserved but also local legends, and apparently even their protagonists, all shadowy figures, disturbing presences of a mischievous kind or linked to witchcraft. A legend invariably has an unclear origin, unexplained, which jars with the evident beauty all around: it’s said that God, having created the Earth, nonchalantly scattered a huge pile of stones around thus forming this very valley whose name in fact is derived from “cotaria” signifying boulder.

Many elderly people still tell of having heard of, or experienced in person, encounters with mysterious men and animals, which later became manifestations of restless souls or old hags. This is why anyone who makes the trek to Val Codera, on meeting the local inhabitants, should be wary when labelling the legends as mere popular fancy: there are still those who swear to having seen the key players in events handed down over the centuries or to be a first-hand witness to their manifestation.

Not surprisingly, one of the most widespread sayings in these parts is “suna l’Ave Maria, gira la stria” (“at the sound of the Hail Mary the witches go around”). The people of the valley have always understood that spirits and evil beings can unleash their powers only after dusk, or rather from the sound of the Hail Mary at six in the evening, until the first morning chimes. But the sound of a particular bell, la Bàrbula, could also save one from the spirits, inhibiting them from menacing passing wayfarers.

There are still those who remember how on one occasion la Bàrbula saved a woman constricted to return at night to Codera after having bought medicine at Novate on the valley bottom a good 2 hours walk away. At Avedée, a locality from where you begin to see the valley, she met four men with a lantern, just as she could hear the chime of the morning Ave Maria. They were spirits and as they disappeared they warned that had the bell not sounded they would have carried her away with them.

And you can still meet people who have had to contend with il Valfubia a man who lived centuries ago, and who instead of working, stole. He was duly condemned to wander the night wearing very particular clothes so as to be instantly recognisable, but he developed the facility to always conjure up a different visage and appearance, alarming people with his sighing, peculiar noises or mischief.

In the late Nineties a resident of the Bresciadega locality related that he was “in a mountain dwelling one evening with Fiorina, my daughter and her boyfriend, a revenue officer. I was making coffee and while it was on the boil, I took a few steps outside. There was not a living soul, neither man nor animal. As I bent down I felt an incredibly strong breath that almost blew me away, so fearing for my life I ran back into the hut. The financier dashed out with a weapon but there was no-one. If it was one of Valfubia’s jokes in order to frighten me, it certainly worked!
