A Rising Star at the Intersection of Fashion and Communications
ATL+ Magazine is thrilled to welcome Johannes Escobar, the newest addition to our team as Fashion Editor and Media Correspondent. This Bay Area native brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for fashion and urban street culture, making him a perfect fit for our magazine. Growing up in the Bay Area, Johannes was heavily influenced by his mother’s custom DIY costume designs, sparking his love for fashion from an early age. He was particularly drawn to the unique style of the luxury streetwear brand Pink Dolphin and found inspiration in fashion icons like J. Cole, Kanye West, and A$AP Rocky. As a teenager, he immersed himself in the world of rare sneakers and luxury goods, trading and collecting with other enthusiasts in the Bay Area community. In 2017, Johannes took a step towards modeling, signing with BlackWell Files and gaining valuable experience while working with well-known brands like McDonald’s. However, his true passion lay in fashion styling, and he pursued it further when he joined the team of celebrity wardrobe stylist Drushing as an executive assistant. From there, he went on to style various clients, from up-and-coming rappers like Lakeyah to TV personalities like Sierra Glamshop, solidifying his presence in the fashion industry. As his career progressed, Johannes delved into fashion show productions, an arena that truly represents the pinnacle of the fashion world. He started as an intern at Runway Buy during Miami Swim Week 2022 and continued his journey as a dresserfashion world. His talent and dedication did not go unnoticed, and he was invited to be a stylist for Atlanta Sustainable Fashion Week’s Fall 2022 season after successfully executive producing Clark Atlanta University’s first-ever sustainable fashion activation. Johannes Escobar is not only making a name for himself as a stylist and fashion editor but also as a passionate advocate for sustainable fashion. His involvement in various sustainable fashion initiatives showcases his commitment to promoting eco-consciousness within the industry. As he continues to blaze the trail in the fashion world, Johannes will be taking his talents to New York City’s prestigious fashion communications agency, Factory PR, for an internship. This opportunity allows him to further explore the intersection of fashion and communications, cementing his position as a rising star in the industry. With his keen eye for style, dedication to sustainability, and remarkable journey in the world of fashion, Johannes Escobar is set to make a significant impact in the industry.
