I am planning to move out of state. Do I have to change my Medicare coverage?

a: It depends on what type of Medicare plan you have. If you are enrolled in a Part C plan, known as Medicare advantage, then you will need to change the plan to the area of your new residence. You will need to make this change within a certain timeframe upon moving. If you have Medicare Supplement insurance, then you do not need to change your coverage because those plans offer nationwide coverage. If you have a stand-alone Medicare Part D prescription drug plan, you will need to change it to one that services the area of your new residence. Q: My family has an history of heart disease. Can I get additional coverage that will help pay the bills if I have a heart attack or stroke? a: There are a lot of different coverages and plans that can provide additional benefits to a person beyond what their health insurance pays in the event the person encounters specific illnesses. These plans can help pay for deductibles, copays, lost wages, and more. It is important to look at the claim process and how the benefits are paid. at Bankers Life we offer coverage for heart attack and stroke as well as coverage for cancer. Recovering from a critical illness can be stressful for you and your family. With proper planning, you can at least help eliminate the financial stress. Keep in mind that these plans are based on health and age, and so it is best to investigate them while you are younger and healthier. Feel free to send me your questions or contact me at:
