Ramstein Airmen arrive in Poland for bilateral training

POWIDZ AIR BASE, POLAND 

Approximately 100 U.S. Airmen and three C-130J Super Hercules aircraft arrived in Poland, July 30, for a bilateral exercise with the Polish air force. The aircraft and Airmen are assigned to the 86th Airlift Wing and 435th Air Ground Operations Wing. U.S. Army Soldiers from the 5th Quarter Master are also participating in the exercise. The training exercise, known as Aviation Detachment Rotation 18-4, ensures the capability and readiness of U.S. and Polish forces in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve – ensuring a faster response in the event of aggression by a regional adversary. “This mission gives our aircrew time to practice and train with our Polish allies in advanced tactical airSee POLAND, Page 2

BORCEA AIR BASE, ROMANIA  Airmen assigned to the 435th Contingency Response Support Squadron at Ramstein Air Base and Airmen assigned to the 31st Maintenance Squadron at Aviano Air Base, Italy, combined their knowledge and experience to provide training to Romanian air force personnel at Borcea Air Base, Romania, July 12 to Aug 4. The mission for the engagement is to advise, train, and assist the Romanian air force in several maintenance and supply-related capabilities to potentially improve Romanian air force pro-

cesses and efficiency while upholding positive support in allied partnerships. “We are here to offer them best practices, techniques, and procedures on how we, the U.S. Air Force, operates in these specific capabilities,” said U.S. Air Force Capt. Lauren Alto, 435th CRSS Air Advisor Flight commander. “The air advisors have augmented subject matter experts from across U.S. European Command and have leveraged their expertise along with the Language Enabled Airman Program to facilitate the instruction and training.” The handpicked subject matter experts developed curricula for the training.
