My role centres on identifying consumer demand combining it with past performance to gain insights into trending products to assist our B2B customers in securing the right products at the right time for fast sell through.

Good morning.

I work as an Intensive Care / Extended Care Paramedic in a single single responder capacity with NSW Ambulance.

I am writing to share a story of the impressive efficacy of one of your products that I've been using for the past 4 years - the Leatherman Raptor.

I was tasked to a young child who had a limb entrapment within a rubber, steel reinforced swing at a playground recently.

All methods of removal using lubrication etc had been exhausted by the parents to release the leg, and it was evident that without immediate removal, the limb would be compromised. Rescue services had been tasked.

I was extremely impressed to find that I was able to cut through the swing rubber with the raptors, quite quickly despite the steel reinforcement. The child was freed with no detrimental outcome. The raptors themselves held up quite well with only minor blunting occurring.

However, they are also 4 years old.

BACON AND TOMATO PASTA WITH MIXED BEANS 1 packet penne pasta 2 pack bacon 1 onion 12 cherry tomatoes 2 pack mixed beans 2 pack chopped canned tomatoes 4 dl water 2 tsp salt 2 tsp dried thyme 2 tsp dried basil 2 tsp sugar 2 tsp chili powder butter

STEP 1 Cook pasta, drain and set aside (or pre-cook at home).

STEP 2 Cut the tomatoes into quarters, finely chop the onion, and slice the bacon.

STEP 3 Sauté in butter until the bacon becomes crispy.

STEP 4 Pour in crushed tomatoes, add water and beans.

STEP 5 Season and let it simmer for 10 minutes on low heat.

STEP 6 Combine sauce with pasta, coating noodles thoroughly.

What’s your favourite brand or product at Zen and why?

My favourite brand at Zen has to be Fjällräven, especially their pants. I’ve been using the Vidda Pros well before my time at Zen and they are incredible.

I’m also a huge fan of Nite Ize and Opinel.

Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have?

I enjoy blending Photography and Hiking/Tramping. I love getting into areas (especially the Southern Alps in NZ) that haven’t been over photographed. It's amazing just exploring new and exciting locations.

Where is your favourite travel spot and where would you want to visit next?

Brazil was my favourite, I met my partner's parents and family, tried my hand at Portuguese and ate some incredible local food. Earlier this year I went to Japan for a ski trip but I need to revisit as I didn’t make my way round the rest of the country.

What do you do at Zen? I joined Zen as a Digital Specialist.

My role involves analysing trends in consumer demand to identify and implement brand growth opportunities across B2B, Retail and eCommerce.

What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?

I like long multi-day walks - I’ve always wanted to attempt Mittagong to Katoomba and the Cooloola Great Walk.

What and how is your team like, and how does it fit into the wider Zen business?

I’m part of the Zen Marketing Team, we’re focused on implementing activities to support the growth of the brands in the APAC market.

How would you describe Zen in 3 words?

Exciting, Passionate and Enthusiastic.

Only 1? My 3 favourite are Opinel, Ledlenser and Leatherman in no particular order.

If you had to pick a theme song for your team, what would it be and why?

Van Halen - Jump; it's a great get up and go track. We face opportunities and challenges but always jump in feet first as a team.

What would your perfect weekend look like?

Definitely something in the outdoors, picnic with my wife, camping, a bushwalk or at least a visit to a national park.

What’s a product you really like/ want, that you’ve had your eyes on for a while?

There’s a few! Right now, the Nomad Cooking Kit from Opinel - it’s just a cool kit.

What is the best thing that has happened to you this year?

I joined the team at Zen - I’ve always admired the brands and have even had the chance to work on a few over the past few years before I joined the team in November..
