Stepper The multi-dimensional new Stepper SI-30174 features a TX5 front moulded to replicate the polished faces of a gemstone – creating a light-catching effect. Combined with simple bevelled titanium temples and presented in a monocolour with a mixture of gloss and matte across the materials, the new style comes in three colour variations. “A frame has to be multifunctional,” said Peter Reeve, Stepper UK managing director. “The extrinsic needs of eyewear, that makes you look and feel good, as well as the intrinsic ability to hold a lens correctly in front of the eye whilst benefitting from daylong comfort, isn’t an easy art.” The frame weighs just 14.1g and is further enhanced with Stepper’s renowned bridge design and hypoallergenic materials. CooperVision New six-year study results have shown that CooperVision MiSight 1 day contact lenses provide myopia control for nearly all children. In the longest-running soft contact lens study among children, 90 per cent of myopic eyes responded to MiSight 1 day wear with a proportional treatment effect, meaning that younger and faster-progressing children receive the maximum benefit. Evidence also indicated a sustained slowing of eye growth with no loss of effectiveness over time.

“Myopia is a disease that progresses over many years, so demonstrating sustained efficacy is critical,” said Paul Chamberlain, the study’s principal investigator and CooperVision director of research programmes. The new My-Nor lens from Norville is a perifocal myopia control lens with three unique characteristics: horizontal defocus, asymmetry and positive spherical blur. The lens consist of a central vision area, which provides stable refraction at the geometric centre, surrounded by a progressive peripheral vision with asymmetrical positive/myopic defocus in the horizontal meridian. A five-year (2012-2018) clinical study, conducted by the Helmholtz Moscow Research Institute of Eye Diseases, found that perifocal lenses reduced myopia progression on average by 40 per cent, and
