Editorial 2021 Tiempo de plantar y tiempo de arrancar lo plantado Pareciera que en la temporada navideña todos recordamos y guardamos en el corazón sentimientos de amor y perdón, los cuales deberían permanecer ahí todo el año, igual que como si viviéramos en un jardín en el que todo lo que sembramos lo cosechamos, lo cual nos llevaría a pensar las cosas varias veces antes de tomar decisiones. Este jardín debe ser cuidado todos los días, poniendo especial atención en las plantas, aquellas que son nobles y que salen adelante en cualquier tierra y otras que simplemente se deben de arrancar, antes de que ocasionar algún daño. También debemos tomar en cuenta la tierra, pues en ocasiones puede ser algo dura, tanto, que requiera atención especial, sacrificio o lágrimas. Y es aquí donde creo que entra la voluntad de Dios, pues al ser obedientes, al conocerlo y seguir su palabra, sabremos cuál es el propósito, sin importar las circunstancias o los sentimientos. Es preciso que sembremos amor y perdón a nuestro alrededor, pues seguro llegará el fruto de la bendición. Recuerda que nuestras acciones deben estar dirigidas
It seems that during the Christmas season we all remember and keep in our hearts feelings of love and forgiveness, which should remain there all year long, just as if we lived in a garden where everything we sowed is harvested, which would lead us to think several times before making decisions. This garden must be cared for every day, paying special attention to the plants, those that are noble and that thrive in any soil, and others that simply must be plucked, before they cause any damage. We must also care about the soil, because sometimes it can be something hard, so much so that it requires special attention, sacrifice or tears. And this is where I believe God’s will comes in, because by being obedient, by knowing Him and following His word, we will know what the purpose is, no matter what the circumstances or feelings. We must sow love and forgiveness around us, because the fruit of blessing is sure to come.

Permítete tener relaciones, acciones y hábitos sanos que ayuden a cultivar un jardín hermoso, pues sin duda el tiempo de la cosecha llegará. ¡Visionarias te desea lo mejor para el año 2021 y que Dios siga obrando en tu vida cada día!

“No tires la toalla”, es una frase muy común y figurativa que he escuchado e inclusive he dicho en varias ocasiones. Por ahí leí que “la toalla” según donde la colocas tiene su significado, por ejemplo: si la pones en tu cuello, sobre la garganta antes de comer, es que estás lista para que te sirvan, si la pones en tu antebrazo, como los meseros, estás lista para servir, si la usas para secar los pies de alguien, estás sirviendo con humildad, pero si tomas la toalla y la tiras, significa que te estás rindiendo. Esta última expresión tiene origen en el boxeo, cuando uno de los contrincantes ya no puede seguir más en la pelea y no se encuentra en condición física para continuar, el entrenador tiene la opción de lanzar dentro del ring una toalla y al caer al suelo es símbolo de que quiere parar la pelea y así evitar más daño físico en el boxeador. En nosotras, “ya tiró la toalla” significa que nos rendimos, que no queremos seguir y en muchas ocasiones ni siquiera intentar seguir adelante. Como mujeres quisiéramos hacer esto cuando llegan momentos de cansancio, y más en estos
días en que la mayor parte del tiempo estamos en casa, donde parece que no avanzamos porque el trabajo se ha multiplicado. Nos sentimos tensas, abrumadas y en ocasiones solas, llenas de responsabilidades, por lo que quisiéramos gritar ya no puedo más, “quiero tirar la toalla”. Cuando esto pase, respira profundamente, eleva una oración a Jesucristo pidiendo de su ayuda y fortaleza, y “no tires la toalla”, no te rindas, piensa que ya terminó el round 2020. No estás sola, Jesucristo tu entrenador por excelencia está contigo, lee su palabra que es la Biblia, en ella encontrarás descanso a tu alma para poder continuar, él te dará la victoria en este nuevo asalto. Hoy más que nunca el mundo necesita mujeres valientes y esforzadas como tú y como yo, que en lugar de tirar la toalla la tomen para secar sus lágrimas y el sudor de su cansancio, la coloquen en su antebrazo y continúen sirviendo con amor y humildad no sólo a los suyos, sino a esta sociedad que necesita saber y sentir del verdadero amor de Dios a través de tu vida y servicio.
Don’t throw in the towel (Round 2021) “Don’t throw in the towel”, is a very common and figurative phrase that I have heard and even said on several occasions.I read that “the towel” has its meaning depending on where you put it, for example: if you put it on your neck, over your throat before eating, you are ready to be served, if you put it on your forearm, like the waiters, you are ready to serve, if you use it to dry someone’s feet, you are serving with humility, but if you take the towel and throw it away, it means you are giving up. This last expression has its origin in boxing, when one of the opponents can no longer continue in the fight and is not in physical condition to continue, the trainer has the option of throwing a towel into the ring and when it falls to the ground it’s a symbol that he wants to stop the fight and thus avoid further
physical damage to the boxer. In us, “he’s already thrown in the towel” means that we give up, that we don’t want to continue and in many cases not even try to go on. As women we would like to do this when moments of fatigue arrive, and in these days when we are mostly at home, where it seems that we don’t move forward because the work has multiplied. We feel tense, overwhelmed and sometimes alone, full of responsibilities, so we would like to cry out, “I want to throw in the towel”. When this happens, take a deep breath, raise a prayer to Jesus Christ asking for his help and strength, and “don’t throw in the towel”, don’t give up, think that round 2020 is over. You are not alone, Jesus Christ your coach par excellence is with you, read his word which is the Bible, in it you will find

rest to your soul to continue, he will give you the victory in this new round. Today, more than ever, the world needs brave and hard-working women like you and me, who instead of throwing in the towel, take it to dry their tears
and the sweat of their fatigue, place it on their forearms and continue to serve with love and humility not only their own, but this society that needs to know and feel the true love of God through your life and service.

Debido a la pandemia quizá sientas que tu futuro camina sobre un terreno de incertidumbre, y por momentos pierdas la posibilidad de pensar con esperanza acerca de lo que realizarás el próximo año. En el Salmo 90, según palabras de Moisés –meditadas tal vez en el desierto cerca de cumplir 80 años–, al ver que sus sueños, anhelos y esperanzas iban muriendo juntó con él, Dios lo llamó para liberar a su pueblo de la esclavitud de Egipto. Su deseo era aprovechar cada día, y llenarse de sabiduría para asumir el reto que tenía por delante. Y aunque hoy no tienes un pueblo que liberar, si tienes una familia a la que puedes guiar, acompañar, liderar, enseñar y sobre todo amar. Muchas veces cuando hablamos de proyectos o propósitos de Año Nuevo, pensamos en algo económico, alguna nueva adquisición, un nuevo negocio para emprender, sin embargo, Dios nos enseñó durante el 2020 que todo esto es pasajero, y que lo más lindo que tienes, son aquellas personas que están a diario a tu alrededor, bajo tu mismo techo, nada más y nada menos que tu familia. Así que tu propósito de este nuevo año, sea crecer como familia, hacer ajustes significativos echando mano del perdón, del respeto, la aceptación, empatía y misericordia, sin olvidar las grandes dosis de amor incondicional para aquellos que merecen lo mejor de ti. Because of the pandemic you may feel that your future is walking on uncertain ground, and at times you may lose the possibility to think hopefully about what you will accomplish in the coming year. In Psalm 90, according to Moses’ words -meditated perhaps in the desert near his 80th birthday-, when he saw that his dreams, longings and hopes were dying with him, God called him to free his people from the slavery of Egypt. His desire was to take advantage of each day, and be filled with wisdom to take on the challenge that lay ahead. And although today you don’t have people to liberate, you have a family that you can guide, accompany, lead, teach and above all love. Many times when we talk about projects or New Year’s resolutions, we think of something economic, some new acquisition, a new business to un-
dertake, however, God taught us during 2020 that all this is temporary, and that the most beautiful thing you have, are those people who are around you every day, under your same roof, nothing more and nothing less than your family. So your purpose in this new year, is to grow as a family, to make significant adjustments by using forgiveness, respect, acceptance, empathy and mercy, without forgetting the great doses of unconditional love for those who deserve the best from you. Finally, in this new cycle enjoy fully with your family, follow these recommendations:
Involve your children in your New Year’s resolutions
Don’t count the days, make every day count
Don’t waste your time complaining, or thinking about what could have been and wasn’t, or what you don’t have. Think about your future with hope and live the present with gratitude. Your family is your best gift, make it your best project.
Make an act of love for your family every day, something that implies sacrifice for you, but that for them is a sample of your love.

LAS NUEVAS METAS EN EL MATRIMONIO En el matrimonio hay que aprender a ser equipo, pues como dice el creador, “ya no son dos, sino una sola carne”, por lo que no debe haber competencia ni rivalidad. Al contrario, es importante tener metas conjuntas que den unidad y permanencia a la relación. Algunas de esas metas pueden ser espirituales, que fortalezcan y unan a ambos lados de la pareja. Una de esas metas es cultivar la intimidad constante a diario, por ejemplo conversar, realizar actividades, participar en la diversión, el descanso, tocarse, besarse, mirarse y también proponer intimidad sexual de acuerdo mutuo. Para esto hay que hablar del tema e informarse sobre cómo disfrutar de acuerdo a lo que Dios enseña en su palabra. El texto bíblico habla de ir a la cama y abrazarse, independiente de intimar más, estar cerca uno del otro y disfrutar. Otra de las metas a proponer es no ir a la cama estando enojados, sin hablar ni resolver ése asunto que requiere atención, además de orar a Dios por su guía con su palabra que inspira, y si hay que pedir y dar perdón, hacerlo, como Jesús enseña 70 veces 7, como él perdona.

New goals in marriage In marriage we must learn to be a team, because as the creator says, “they are no longer two, but one flesh”, so there must be no competition or rivalry. On the contrary, it’s important to have joint goals that give unity and permanence to the relationship. Some of these goals can be spiritual, strengthening and uniting both sides of the couple. One of those goals is to cultivate constant intimacy on a daily basis, for example talking, doing activities, participating in fun, resting, touching, kissing, looking at each other and also proposing sexual intimacy by mutual agreement. To do this, it is necessary to talk about the subject and find out how to enjoy it according to what God teaches in

Always on your feet
SIEMPRE DE PIE El año pasado fue difícil, fue retador y tuvimos miedo; sin embargo, ahora no tememos a nada, pues seguimos vivos y de pie. Cada año esperamos el inicio de éste con gran anhelo, aunque nunca como este 2021, el cual se presenta como un año de renacimiento, de empezar nuevas metas y adaptarnos a una nueva realidad. Así que construyamos con nuestras palabras lo que queramos ver con nuestros ojos, no tengamos miedo de apostar y retar los “no” para obtener los “sí”, recuerda que nada es permanente y que ahora nos toca enfrentar la realidad y hacer de ella la mejor meta para conquistar, teniendo la satisfacción de que estamos cumpliendo con nuestro llamado. Espero que este inicio de año seamos más disciplinados, ordenados, constantes y perseverantes, que tengamos una nueva visión para alcanzar nuestros ob-

Last year was difficult, challenging and scary; however, now we are not afraid of anything, as we are still alive and well. Every 12 months we wait for the beginning of the year with great longing, although never like this 2021, which is presented as a year of rebirth, of starting new goals and adapting to a new reality. TRANSFORMANDO A TRAVÉS DE DIOS Por Sandra Rocío Chávez En un año en el que fuimos sorprendidos por una pandemia y en el que más de una vez el temor se apoderó de nosotros, siempre existieron personas que le cerraron la puerta al miedo y pese a cualquier cosa siguieron ayudando a quienes más lo necesitaban. Ese es el caso de Alicia Esther Hernández, cofundadora de dos organizaciones sumamente importantes. Asentada en la ciudad texana de Dallas, Alicia creó WinGs International, un grupo enfocado en el fortalecimiento de la mujer a través de un sistema de mentorías que las ayuda a llevar a cabo la misión que Dios les ha encomendado. WinGs (Women in God’s Season), nació cuando esta mujer visionaria era estudiante de Cristo para las Naciones, donde el llamado del Señor se hizo presente en ella y decidió ayudar a otras mujeres a cumplir con su tarea. “Yo había sido pastora de mujeres por 8 años y cuando fui a Dallas el Señor me dio la misión de crear un ministerio donde otras mujeres pudieran tener una plataforma para hacer lo que él les está llamando”, nos cuenta. Sin embargo, su misión no terminó ahí, pues tiempo después, tras un viaje de misioneros a Italia, Alicia decidió que era momento de unir su labor a la de su marido, quien tenía la idea de crear Global Expression, una organización sin fines de lucro, con la que pudieran llegar a todas las naciones y a sus comunidades, con la intención de también ayudarlas con la enseñanza bíblica y el amor de Dios.

“Lo que hicimos fue unir las dos organizaciones e hicimos una, entonces WinGs es parte de Global Expression hoy en día”, dice Alicia, quien agrega que trabajan en tres áreas específicas: Europa, Centroamérica y el Caribe, donde analizan las necesidades fundamentales de cada comunidad para así poder aplicar proyectos de cinco años cuya principal actividad será la de transformar. En estos lugares los principales beneficiados son niños huérfanos o sin hogar, mujeres embarazadas y ancianos.
Próximos proyectos
La pandemia los ha llevado a desarrollar un discipulado en línea, con el cual podrán ayudar a muchísimas más personas a aprender lo básico del Evangelio, cómo poder sanar y establecer la identidad de Cristo a través de la ministración. Este método lo aplicarán debido a que la problemática de salud los ha obligado a suspender los viajes, aunque eso no los ha frenado y siempre han encontrado la manera de llegar a donde más los necesitan. “Poder llegar y ser la respuesta a esa necesidad es para nosotros lo más importante”, comparte Alicia Esther, quien recuerda la emoción de las personas al recibir la ayuda que ella y su esposo, junto con su organización, ofrecen desinteresadamente. “En este momento estamos planeando dos viajes. Estamos pensando que para julio estaremos en Nicaragua;

estamos confiando plenamente en que vamos a poder llegar ahí. No vamos a ser un grupo grande de misioneros, pero vamos a ser el equipo de los que puedan viajar y vamos a estar cuatro semanas, incluyendo una ayuda humanitaria en la que llevaremos doctores y vamos a poder proveer medicamentos. También planeamos una semana de evangelismo y una semana de discipulado”, asegura Alicia Esther, quien también tiene planes para poder viajar a República Dominicana en octubre.
No teme
Alicia Hernández asegura que todo lo logrado ha sido gracias a que le ha cerrado la puerta al temor, sobre el año pasado, en el que nada resultó fácil para la humanidad. Por ello envía un certero mensaje. “Mi mensaje en este momento está centrado en el no temer, no importa la crisis que estamos viviendo, lo importante es mantenernos enfocados en quién es Jesús, en la palabra de Dios. Es importante mantenernos leyendo constantemente la palabra que refresque nuestra memoria, recordar las promesas que Dios ha hecho, pero sobre todo, no abras puertas de temor”. “Este año vamos a ver victoria, vamos a ver cosas buenas sucediendo, un poder fuerte de la presencia de Dios sucediendo en el mundo entero”, finaliza.

Transforming through God In a year in which we were caught by a pandemic and in which more than once fear took hold of us, there were always people who closed the door to fear and in spite of everything continued to help those who needed it most. That is the case of Alicia Esther Hernández, co-founder of two very important organizations. Based in Dallas, Texas, Alicia created WinGs International, a group focused on empowering women through a mentoring system that helps them carry out the mission God has given them. WinGs (Women in God’s Season), was born when this visionary woman was a student of Christ for the Nations, where the call of the Lord presented and she decided to help other women to fulfill their task. “I had been a women’s pastor for 8 years and when I went to Dallas the Lord gave me the mission to create a ministry where other women could have a platform to do what He is calling them to do,” she says. However, her mission did not end there, because some time later, after a missionaries’ trip to Italy, Alicia decided that it was time to join her work to her husband, who had the idea of creating Global Expression, a non-profit organization, with which they could reach all nations and their communities, to helping them with biblical teaching and God’s love. “What we did was unite the two organizations and we made one, so WinGs is today part of Global Expression,” says Alicia, who adds that they work in three specific places: Europe, Central America and the Caribbean, where they analyze the fundamental needs of each community in order to apply five-year projects whose main activity is to transform them. In these places the main beneficiaries are orphaned or homeless children, pregnant women and the elderly.

RACISMO ¿Qué es exactamente el racismo? Básicamente, pensar que eres mejor que otra persona porque tienes un color de piel que sientes que es superior al color de piel de otra persona. De hecho podrías ser tratado mejor o peor por tu color de piel. ¿Pero no estamos todos hechos a imagen de Dios? Dios dijo en Génesis 1:26, “Hagamos al hombre a nuestra imagen”. Y si lo piensas bien, todos venimos del mismo padre y madre terrenal, que son Adán y Eva. Así que sin importar de qué país provenimos, de qué color somos o quiénes fueron nuestros antepasados, todos somos hermanos y hermanas. Entonces, ¿Deberías odiar a tu hermano? ¿Y no es irónico que juzguemos a la gente basándonos en apariencias físicas que no podemos controlar? Admiras a una mujer porque es rubia y tiene la piel blanca, pero ella no tenía control sobre el color de su pelo o su piel cuando nació porque así fue creada. Y al mismo tiempo, te burlas de alguien que tiene una gran nariz o grandes orejas, y sin embargo, ¿esa persona tenía algún control sobre todo eso cuando nació? ¿No te burlas de Dios mismo si Dios creó a la persona de esa manera y nos hizo a cada uno de nosotros únicos y perfectos a sus ojos? Dice el Salmo 139:13-14, “Me has unido en el vientre de mi madre. Te alabo porque estoy temerosa y maravillosamente hecha”. El comercio mundial de esclavos negros llegó a los Estados Unidos donde se podía comprar y vender y tratar a las personas como animales. Incluso hoy en día. El racismo hoy en día ha llegado al extremo de que en China, el gobierno utiliza la tecnología de reconocimiento facial con cámaras en cada esquina para rastrear los movimientos de la gente e identificar a las personas con ciertas características faciales y orígenes étnicos como los uigures. Una vez identificados, los uigures son puestos en campos de trabajos forzados, usados y abusados, para hacer productos que se venden en todo el mundo como “Made in China”. Dices que eso es extremo, pero todo comienza pensando que una raza es mejor que otra. Y todo comienza por cómo nos tratamos unos a otros, uno a uno. “Ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”, dice Marcos 12:31. Entonces, ¿qué haces? No ves el color o la raza o la nacionalidad o incluso la religión. No ves discapacidad, o nivel de ingresos, o posición de trabajo, o hermosa o fea. Ves a Dios. Ves a Dios en cada persona que encuentras. Ves la creación perfecta de Dios y ayudas a otros a ver lo mismo. Trabajas para corregir las injusticias, pero con la visión de Dios y su agenda, no la tuya. Tratas a todos con el mismo amor y respeto como si fuera el mismo Cristo con el que te encuentras. Porque en realidad es Cristo. El racismo rompe el corazón de Dios. Y debería romper tu corazón también. Marca la diferencia hoy y cada día, trata a todos los que encuentres con respeto, con el amor de Dios, con el corazón de Dios. Y mientras lo hacen, enseñen a sus hijos a hacer lo mismo.
What exactly is Racism? Basically, it’s you thinking that you are better than someone else because you have a skin color that you feel is superior to someone else’s skin color. You could be treated better or worse because of your skin color. But aren’t we all made in the image of God? God said in Genesis 1:26, “Let us make man in our image.” And if you come right down to it, we all come from the same earthly father and mother, which is Adam and Eve. So regardless of what country we come from, what color we are, or who our ancestors were, we are all brothers and sisters. Should you hate your brother? And isn’t it ironic that we judge people based on physical appearances that we can’t control? You admire a woman because she is blond and has white skin, but she had no control over her hair color or skin when she was born, that was how she was created. And at the same time, you make fun of someone who has a big nose or big ears, and yet did that person have any control over any of that when they were born either? Aren’t you making fun of God Himself if God created the person that way and He made each one of us unique and perfect in His eyes? In Psalm,139:13-14, “You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.“ Racism has always existed, Aaron and Miriam didn’t like Moses’ wife, Zipporah who was from Ethiopia, the Jews were continually captured and brutalized over the centuries, where even Hitler’s goal was to create a perfect white society with blond hair and blue eyes. The black worldwide slave trade came to the U.S. where you could buy and sell and treat people like animals. Racism today has gone to the extreme where in China, the government uses facial recognition technology with cameras on every street corner to track people’s movements and identify people with certain facial characteristics and ethnic backgrounds like the Uyghurs. Once identified, the Uyghur people are put in forced prison labor camps, used and abused, to make products that are sold all over the world as “Made in In China”. You say that is extreme, but it all starts by thinking that one race is better than another. And it all starts by how we treat each other one on one. “Love your neighbor as yourself, ”says Mark 12:31. So what do you do? You don’t see color or race or nationality or even religion. You don’t see disability, or income level, or job position, or beautiful or ugly. You see God. You see God in every person that you encounter. You see God’s perfect creation and help others to see the same. You work to correct injustices, but with God’s vision and His agenda, not your own. You treat everyone with the same love and respect as if it were Christ Himself that you were encountering. Because it is indeed Christ. Racism breaks the heart of God. And it should break your heart too. Make a difference today and every day, treat everyone that you encounter with respect, with God’s love, with God’s heart. And while you’re at it, teach your children to do the same.
