Editorial Septiembre es el mes en el que México celebra su independencia y libertad, sin embargo, este año el festejo será diferente pues vivimos una libertad a medias, con la incertidumbre de saber qué va pasar o cómo le vamos hacer ante la pandemia y los problemas económicos que nos hace atravesar una nueva normalidad con privaciones. Lo que más me duele de esta situación es la libertad que perdieron nuestros hijos, los niños, quienes ya no salen a jugar ni acuden a la escuela de una manera física, pues tenemos que cuidar su salud más que nunca. Para estos tiempos difíciles tengo un versículo preferido, el cual medito, memorizo, y al que le tengo fe:

What hurts the most about this situation is the freedom that our children lost, those who no longer go out to play or go to school because we have to take care of their health more than ever. Sencilla definición de suicidio: tomar la vida que no le pertenece para terminarla
C
omo todos sabemos Dios es el creador de todo lo que existe, él es quien da la vida y la quita conforme su voluntad y propósito, y como dueño y soberano tiene el poder de prohibir quitarla. Sin embargo, para el ser humano cometer suicidio, tal vez, tiene que ver con una mente y corazón que han sido engañados con pensamientos mentirosos que proceden del enemigo de Dios y del ser humano, por ejemplo: “la vida

no vale”, “ya no quiero sufrir”, “necesito paz”, “no hay solución a esto y aquello”, entre otros. Estos pensamientos son tan sutiles que hacen creer a quien los tiene, que son situaciones que sólo a ellos afectan, por lo que con astucia el demonio le convence de que tome la fatal decisión, aunque bien sabe el diablo que no tiene permiso de Dios para quitarla. Porque Jesús le quitó el imperio de la muerte. Lo más importante es que se busque ayuda en cuanto empiezan esos pensamientos que van en contra de la vida, no importa la edad ni condición social, para todos hay ayuda en Jesús, quien vino a dar vida en abundancia. (Evangelio de Juan 10:10)

However, for the human being to commit suicide, perhaps, it has to do with a mind and heart that have been deceived with lying thoughts that come from the enemy of God and the human being, for example: “life is not worth”, “I no longer want to suffer”, “I need peace ”,“ there is no solution to this and that”, among others. These are so subtle, that they make those who have them believe that they are situations that only they suffer, so the devil cleverly convinces them to make the fatal decision, although the devil knows well that he does not have God’s permission to remove it. Because Jesus took away the rule of death. The most important thing is to look for help as soon as those thoughts against life begin, regardless of age or social condition, for everyone there is help in Jesus, who came to give life in abundance. maginemos esta escena: María, la madre de Jesús, llorando a los pies de la cruz, gritándole, ¿por qué no te bajas de ahí?, ¿acaso no piensas en el dolor que estoy pasando?, ¿no te importa dejarnos solos? Por supuesto que así no fue como sucedió. Aun en medio del dolor María siempre supo quién era Jesús, que venía con un propósito claro y que ella sólo fue un instrumento usado por Dios. Sin embargo, esta es la historia que muchas familias viven, donde hay esposos, padres e hijos que dependen emocionalmente de otros. Toda dependencia, como indica su propio nombre, tarde o temprano deriva en una situación asfixiante en la que falta libertad interior.
Síntomas de codependencia emocional
• Baja autoestima • Cambios bruscos de estado de ánimo • Miedo al cambio • Idealización excesiva de otra persona • Poca tolerancia hacia la frustración • Un pobre concepto de sí mismo acompañado de una incapacidad para poner límites y decir no En la relación de pareja, esto lo reflejamos al vivir constantemente ofendidos por lo que mi cónyuge hace, al no satisfacer mis necesidades emocionales, por lo que debemos de tener claro, que somos compañeros de camino, hacemos

equipo para cumplir un propósito al cual Dios nos ha llamado; no debemos perder nuestra individualidad ni permitir que nuestro cónyuge defina quién soy, es importante tener claro que cada uno tiene una identidad en Cristo Jesús. En la crianza hay padres que idealizan a sus hijos, haciéndoles creer que ellos están para cumplir con todas sus expectativas y anhelos, pero no es así, los hijos son un regalo de Dios y él nos concede el honor de darles la instrucción, las bases, la estabilidad emocional y la seguridad que ellos necesitan para cumplir el propósito que tiene con ellos. Si no asimilamos esto, cuando ellos comiencen a emprender su vida independiente, lo harán con un alto grado de culpa por sentir que no llenan con las expectativas de sus padres, desencadenando sentimientos de frustración. Te invito a que le des a cada uno de los integrantes de tu familia el valor que merece, promoviendo un ambiente sano, donde cada uno se sienta respetado y valorado por lo que es, sintiéndonos completos y satisfechos por lo que somos en Cristo. Que Dios, quien da esa paciencia y ese ánimo, los ayude a vivir en plena armonía unos con otros, como corresponde a los seguidores de Cristo Jesús. Entonces todos ustedes podrán unirse en una sola voz para dar alabanza y gloria a Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Romanos 15:5-6 NTV

EMOTIONAL DEPENDENCE IN THE FAMILY Let’s imagine this scene: Mary, the mother of Jesus, crying at the foot of the cross, yelling at him, why don’t you get down from there? Don’t you think about the pain I’m going through? Don’t you mind leaving us alone? Of course that was not how it happened. Even in the midst of pain, Mary always knew who Jesus was, that he came with a clear purpose and that she was only an instrument used by God. However, this is the story that many families live, where there are husbands, parents and children who are emotionally dependent on others. All dependency, as its name indicates, sooner or later leads to a suffocating situation in which there is a lack of inner freedom.
Emotional codependency symptoms
• Low self-esteem • Sudden mood swings • Fear of change • Excessive idealization of another person • Low tolerance towards frustration • A poor self-concept accompanied by an inability to set limits and say no. In the couple relationship, we reflect this by constantly living offended by what my spouse does, by not satisfying my emotional needs, so we must be clear that we are companions on
the road, we team up to fulfill a purpose to which God has called us; We must not lose our individuality or allow our spouse to define who I am, it’s important to be clear that each one has an identity in Christ Jesus. In upbringing there are parents who idealize their children, making them believe that they are there to fulfill all their expectations and desires, but it is not like that, children are a gift from God and he grants us the honor of giving them the instruction, the foundations , emotional stability and the security they need to fulfill his purpose for them. If we don’t assimilate this, when they begin to undertake their independent life, they will do so with a high degree of guilt for feeling that they don’t fulfill their parents’ expectations, triggering feelings of frustration. I invite you to give each of the members of your family the value they deserve, promoting a healthy environment, where each one feels respected and valued for who they are, feeling complete and satisfied for who we are in Christ. May God, who gives that patience and that encouragement, help you to live in full harmony with one another, as befits the followers of Jesus Christ. ¿SE PUEDE TENER LIBERTAD EN EL MATRIMONIO?
E
l verdadero amor significa libertad, “Porque el Señor es el Espíritu; y donde está el Espíritu del Señor, allí hay libertad” (2Cor 3:17). Se puede amar y ser una sola carne (Génesis 2:21-24), sin ser dependiente, sin ser egoísta, sin intentar limitar la libertad del cónyuge, sólo para complacerte y satisfacer tus necesidades. Jimmy Evans en su libro “Matrimonios sobre la roca” habla sobre las leyes del matrimonio y cómo estas generan orden y seguridad en el acto. Una de esas leyes es la de la prioridad, “por tanto, el hombre dejará”, es decir Azab, (palabra en hebreo que significa dejar, soltar), en este caso a su padre y a su madre, así como a su vida de soltería. La libertad es un don maravilloso que cada ser humano tiene y se debe ejercitar responsablemente sin romper el compromiso de un hogar estable.
¿Cuánta libertad debe haber en el matrimonio?
Debemos reaprender que el amor no está relacionado con la dependencia y la prohibición de la libertad. Hoy en día hay personas que no entienden cómo puede existir la libertad en un matrimonio y se comportan como si su pareja fuera de su propiedad, a la que hay que proteger de “intrusos”, convirtiéndose en guardias del otro, creyendo que una vez casados la libertad de ser uno mismo, de
seguir sus metas, de tener tiempo y espacio personal deben terminar. Consecuentemente, la única responsabilidad es de la familia (incluso cuando no hay hijos), es decir, trabajar por el bienestar de ambos y cuidar la felicidad de pareja. Incluso, si al esposo no le parece que su esposa tenga algún pasatiempo que lo incluya a él, debe renunciar a ello, o si la esposa no está de acuerdo con que su esposo tenga otros intereses además de su trabajo y su hogar, él también debe renunciar a ellos, pues creen que esto representará un peligro para la familia. Por lo anterior se sienten con derecho a controlar a su pareja y se acusan mutuamente de traición sin ver el daño que se causan. El amor verdadero también significa confiar en ti mismo y confiar en que cada día tu pareja va a preferir estar a tu lado.
¿Dónde se traza la línea?
Los matrimonios saludables son como una calle de doble sentido, obtienes tanto como das, dando comprensión y respeto a las necesidades de tu cónyuge, compartir y comprometerse no consumirá ninguna de sus libertades. El matrimonio no es para inmaduros o ególatras. Casarse no significa que deban renunciar a su individualidad e intereses, necesitan saber cuándo priorizar qué, para obtener lo mejor de ambos mundos.

CAN YOU HAVE FREEDOM IN MARRIAGE? True love means freedom, “Because the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2Cor 3:17). One can love and be one flesh (Genesis 2: 21-24), without being dependent, without being selfish, without trying to limit the spouse’s freedom, just to please you and satisfy your needs. Jimmy Evans in his book “Marriages on the Rock” talks about the laws of marriage and how they generate order and security. One of these laws is that of priority, “therefore, man will leave”, that is, Azab, (a word in Hebrew that means to leave, to let go), in this case his father and mother, as well as his life of single. Freedom is a wonderful gift that every human being has and must be exercised responsibly without breaking the commitment to a stable home.
How much freedom should there be in marriage?
We must relearn that love is not related to dependency and the prohibition of freedom. Today there are people who don’t understand how freedom can exist in a marriage and behave as if their partner were their property, which must be protected from “intruders”, becoming the guardians of the other, believing that once married the freedom to be yourself, to follow your goals, to have personal time and space must end. Consequently, the only responsibility lies with the family (even when there are no children), that is, working for the well-being of both and caring for couple happiness. Even if the husband doesn’t want that his wife has a hobby that doesn’t includes him, she must give it up, or if the wife doesn’t agree that her husband has interests other than his work and home, he also you must renounce them, because they believe that this will represent a danger to the family. Therefore, they feel they have the right to control their partner and accuse each other of treason without seeing the damage they cause. True love also means trusting yourself and trusting that each day your partner will prefer to be by your side.
Where to draw the line?
Healthy marriages are like a two-way street, you get as much as you give, giving understanding and respect to your spouse’s needs, sharing and compromising will not consume any of their freedoms. Marriage is not for the immature or egotistical. Getting married doesn’t mean you have to give up your individuality and interests, you need to know when to prioritize what, to get the best of both worlds.

Para nosotros los mexicanos este mes es muy especial pues festejamos la Independencia de nuestro país. A todos nos sale lo patriota y disfrutamos del 16 de Septiembre con gran alegría, pero mi pregunta es, ¿haz festejado el día de tu propia independencia? Como creyentes también tenemos nuestro Día de Independencia, que es cuando aceptamos a Jesús en nuestro corazón liberándonos del régimen de la caída en el pecado… es cuando Jesús nos ayuda a pelear la batalla y nos hace “libres”. Pero, ¿por qué la palabra libres está entre comillas?, pues porque causalmente cuando somos jóvenes es cuando más batallamos en entender la palabra “independencia”, ya que estamos en una lucha tanto espíritual como personal y empezamos a actuar con firmeza, a tener autoderminacion en cualquier decisión y acción propia.
En nuestra vida personal, la mayoría estamos acostumbrados a depender de algún adulto, padre o mentor para poder tomar alguna decisión y no nos creemos capaces de poder manejar las consecuencias buenas o malas de las decisiones que tomamos. Muchas veces eso pasa por crecer con padres sobreprotectores o dominantes que no nos ayudan a forjar nuestro carácter. Por eso es importante que desde la niñez los padres orienten y animen a los menores a seguir su propio camino. En nuestra vida espíritual llega a pasar lo mismo, cuando uno no tiene una relación propia con Dios, todo depende de nuestros padres, mentor o adulto. La relación con el Señor es individual e independiente de cualquier persona, uno tiene que formar ese enlace con su creador, esa relación con su salvador y esa intimidad con su Dios. Cuando logra-

mos tener un enlace, una relación e íntimidad comenzamos a entender la verdadera libertad espíritual que él nos llama a vivir. No me malinterpreten no está mal que nuestros padres nos ayuden a reafirmar nuestras decisiones, pues la palabra de Dios nos anima a que busquemos consejos, ya que ahí está la sabiduría. Al igual que en nuestra vida espíritual también debemos estar bajo un discipulado o mentoría, pero no quiere decir que nuestra salvación o relación dependa de nuestro mentor, líder o padres, porque esta relación con Dios es independiente, cada quien tiene la suya y debemos de ser valientes en tener una. No está mal tener sueños y anhelos en tu corazón como viajar, terminar tu carrera, seguir preparándote, casarte, tener hijos, tener tu ministerio, etcétera. Al contrario, debes estar rodeado de personas con el mismo deseo que tú, personas con un mismo sentir que el tuyo, que sean escalones y no resbaladillas, para que te ayuden a crecer y alcanzar tus metas. Pero sobre todo tu también debes ser esa persona que lleve la libertad que Dios le dio, lo que conlleva una responsabilidad de ser firmes, decisivos y autosuficientes para poder ayudar a otros. No tengas miedo a la independencia porque es el camino que Dios nos dio para vivir con firmeza, valentía y esfuerzo, sabiendo que él siempre está con nosotros donde quiera que vayamos, cuidando cómo manejamos la independencia para no hacer tropezar a los que tienen una conciencia débil.

CELEBRATE YOUR SPIRITUAL INDEPENDENCE For Mexicans this month is very special because we celebrate the Independence of our country. We are all patriotic and we enjoy September 16 with great joy, but my question is, have you celebrated your own independence day? As believers we also have our Independence Day, which is when we accept Jesus in our hearts freeing us from the regime of fall into sin… it’s when Jesus helps us fight the battle and makes us “free”. But why is the word free in quotation marks? Because when we are young is when we struggle the most to understand the word “independence”, since we are in a spiritual and personal struggle and we begin to act firmly, and to have self-determination in any decision and own action. In our personal lives, most of us are used to depending on an adult, parent or mentor to make a decision, and we don’t believe we are capable of handling the good or bad consequences of the decisions we make. Many times that happens because we grow up with overprotective or dominant parents who don’t help us to build our character. That’s why it’s important that parents’ guide and encourage children to follow their own path from childhood. In our spiritual life the same thing happens, when one doesn’t have a proper relationship with God, everything depends on our parents, mentor or adult. The relationship with the Lord is individual and independent of any person, one has to form that link with
the creator, that relationship with the savior and that intimacy with God. When we manage to have a bond, a relationship and intimacy, we begin to understand the true spiritual freedom that he calls us to live. Don’t get me wrong, it’s okay for our parents to help us reaffirm our decisions, because God’s word encourages us to seek advice, since wisdom is there. As in our spiritual life we must also be under a discipleship or mentorship, but it doesn’t mean that our salvation or relationship depends on our mentor, leader or parents, because this relationship with God is independent, each one has his own and we must be brave to have one. It’s not wrong to have dreams in your heart such as traveling, finishing your degree, continuing to prepare, getting married, having children, having your ministry, etc. On the contrary, you must be surrounded by people with the same desire as you, people with the same feelings as yours, who are steps and not slides, so that they help you grow and achieve your goals. But above all you must also be that person who carries the freedom that God gives, which entails a responsibility to be firm, decisive and self-sufficient in order to help others. Don’t be afraid of independence because it is the way that God gave us to live with firmness, courage and effort, knowing that he’s always with us wherever we go, taking care of how we handle independence so as not to stumble those who have a conscience weak.

SOCORRO CHÁVEZ, AL SERVICIO DE LA IGLESIA POR SANDRA CHÁVEZ Ayudar en todo lo que le sea posible e incluso inventar tareas para mantenerse activa dentro de la iglesia Juan 14:6 que pastorea su marido, es parte del día a día de Socorro Chávez, una mujer visionaria que redescubrió a Dios a los 20 años de edad. Socorro Magdalena, cuenta que fue a raíz de su llegada a esta frontera que decidió abrir su corazón a Cristo, quien le ayudó a superar un resentimiento que tenía hacia su madre, a la que sin duda amaba, pero con quien no tenía una relación estable. Ya aquí, mientras también estudiaba, alguien le habló de Dios y le repetía constantemente “Cristo te ama y quiere cambiar tu vida”, palabras que aunque retumbaban en ella, no le gustaba que le dijeran, “hasta gordo me caía”, confiesa. Sin embargo, terminó dando el paso y aceptó a Cristo como su salvador, “el amor de Dios me cautivó, me sentí ligera y perdonada”, dice Socorrito que después de aceptar la palabra del Señor, habló con su mamá. “Mi guerra era interior, por fuera era moral, sonriente, platicadora, pero por dentro no, y ahí es donde Dios entra, cambia la vida y pone la paz en el corazón”, agrega.

Socorro ya había tenido –sin saberlo– un acercamiento con el Señor, cuando uno de sus hermanos falleció, y sin que la familia lo supiera se había convertido a la fe cristiana. Él tenía 15 años. Ella cuenta que a los días de la muerte del joven, la familia entera fue invitada a una misa donde una mujer se subió a orar, situación que a ella le pareció “rara” y aseguró al salir de ahí que “nunca sería como ellos”, sin imaginar que años después ella junto a su marido intercederían ante Dios a beneficio de la comunidad.
El matrimonio
Socorro confiesa que fue su esposo quien hablaba con ella sobre Dios cuando apenas tenía 20 años, y fue él quien le presentó el camino tal y como ahora lo conoce, “me ganó para Cristo y me ganó para él”, dice divertida. Antes y después del matrimonio, Socorro siempre ha sido activa en las tareas de la iglesia, por lo que ella misma se busca qué hacer dentro de ella. “A mi me encanta trabajar para Dios, aún cuando no era esposa de un pastor, yo siempre trabajé en todo lo que se podía… en lo que me pusieran yo estaba contenta, me encantaba, y si no me ponían yo me buscaba ta-

reas que hacer”. Ahora además de dar clases de escuela dominical y atender el comedor de los domingos por la mañana, junto al grupo de mujeres de la iglesia, también reparte despensas cada jueves a los más necesitados de la zona.
Su otra labor
Socorrito, como también es conocida, pertenece al Club de Leones, grupo con el que participa en el Centro de Reciclado y Distribución de Lentes (Ceredil), que regala anteojos a personas con errores refractivos en la vista, como miopía, hipermetropía, astigmatismo, y otros. Cuenta que todas las personas pueden acceder al servicio, les hacen examen y en algunos casos sólo se piden 50 pesos de cooperación, por lo que invita a los interesados a obtener más información a través del teléfono 656-639-2609. Por último, Socorro Chávez nos recuerda que acercarse a Dios es muy sencillo, “es nada más cerrar los ojos y decirle al Señor, empezar a hablar con él, y él es rápido para hacernos sentir su presencia” y agrega que “sin Cristo no somos nada, él es el que nos hace valer, el que nos da la vida, es el que nos provee de todo lo que tenemos, sin él nada somos, como dice su palabra: ni las hojas de los árboles se mecen si no es por su poder”.

SOCORRO CHÁVEZ, AT THE SERVICE OF THE CHURCH

First approach with God
Before his life took a turn, Socorro had already had - unknowingly - a closeness with the Lord, when one of his brothers died, and without the family’s knowledge he had converted to the Christian faith. He was 15 years old. She says that a few days after the young man’s death, the entire family was invited to a mass where a woman went up to pray, a situation that seemed “strange” to her and makes her assured that “she would never be like them”, without imagining that years later she and her husband would intercede before God for the benefit of the community.
Marriage
Socorro confesses that it was her husband who spoke with her about God when she was barely 20 years old, and it was he who presented her the way as she now knows it, “he won me for Christ and he won me for him”, she says amused. Before and after marriage, Socorro has always been active in the church’s tasks, so she looks for what to do within it herself. “I love working for God, even when I was not the wife of a pastor, I always worked in everything I could ... whatever they put me on I was happy, I loved it, and if they didn’t give me, I
would look for tasks that do”. Now, in addition to giving Sunday school classes and serving the dining room on Sunday mornings, ith the group of women from the church, she also distributes pantries every Thursday to those most in need in the area.
Her other job

Este 21 de septiembre celebramos un año más del Día Internacional de la Paz, el cual está dedicado al fortalecimiento de los ideales de este estado, a través de la observación de 24 horas de no violencia y alto al fuego. Pero para lograr este propósito tan loable necesitamos el principio que el Señor Jesús nos dejó en sus escrituras: “Trata a los demás como quieres que te traten” (Mateo 7:12), el cual nos ayuda a vivir en paz en medio de toda esta situación que se vive en el mundo entero, mismo que este año se ha visto afectado por el virus del Covid-19, el cual llegó para transformar nuestra vida. Siempre los cambios nos llenan de temor, de incertidumbre y hasta un poco de depresión. Es cierto que nuestra nueva normalidad es oscura, y eso nos ha provocado desesperación, enojo y mucha ira, sentimientos que pueden obligarnos a perder el control de nosotros mismos, siendo entonces cuando el mundo que nos rodea se torna violento y nuestro entorno se vuelve hostil. Sin embargo, debemos permanecer en calma, así como lo muestra Dios en Filipenses 4:7, “y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardará sus corazones y sus mentes en Cristo Jesús”. En este caso y con esta certeza debemos vivir la paz de Dios, siendo nosotros la solución, dejando la violencia y los pleitos a un lado, siendo solidarios, bondadosos, caritativos, pero sobre todo teniendo una actitud de paz.

However, we must remain calm, as God shows in Philippians 4: 7, “and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”. In this case and with this certainty, we must live the peace of God, being the solution ourselves, leaving violence and violence aside, being supportive, kind, charitable, but above all having an attitude of peace.

¿QUÉ ES TENER LIBERTAD FINANCIERA? CAMBIO DE CULTURA

oy en día la sociedad tiene una idea equivocada de lo que significa tener “libertad financiera”. Con la expansión de las redes sociales, han aparecido un sinfín de personas promoviendo la libertad financiera y lo que realmente promueven es: ¡hágase rico! El problema con esta visión es que el estrés económico llega no importando cuánto dinero tenga uno en la cuenta de banco. Para poder tener una idea clara de lo que significa verdadera libertad financiera, necesitamos entender primero que es esclavitud financiera.
Esclavitud Financiera
Lo contrario a libertad es esclavitud, así que, si queremos tener libertad, primero debemos verificar si somos o no esclavos financieros. La esclavitud es estar atados a algo, es estar en servidumbre. La Biblia nos enseña que la raíz de todos los males es el amor al dinero (I Timoteo 6:10). No es el dinero la raíz de todos los males, sino el amor al dinero; cuando las finanzas gobiernan nuestras vidas, decisiones y estados de ánimo caemos en servidumbre o esclavitud financiera. Como cristianos tenemos que aprender a ceder la propiedad de todas nuestras posesiones a Dios, incluyendo
el dinero, tiempo, familia, cosas materiales, educación, carrera e incluso el potencial futuro para obtener mayores entradas de dinero. No sólo debemos reconocer con nuestras oraciones y cánticos que él es el Señor, sino también debemos aprender a manejar todo lo que tenemos como administradores y no como “dueños”. Esta actitud es esencial si deseamos experimentar verdadera libertad financiera.
Factores básicos de la Libertad Financiera
“Mi dinero” es un depósito que el Señor me ha confiado, he de ganarlo y administrarlo conforme a los principios bíblicos. Existen tres factores básicos que tenemos que aprender para poder administrar de manera adecuada los recursos que Dios nos ha confiado. 1. RECIBIR Mediante el trabajo diligente y el uso responsable, creativo e ingenioso de los recursos es como recibimos normalmente la provisión. En ocasiones, Dios nos mueve a orar sabiamente por los recursos que necesitamos y a orar por necesidades específicas que sólo Él puede suplir. Principio: En la medida que trabajamos con excelencia, recibiremos nuestra manutención. (Proverbios 6:6-8)
No digo esto porque esté necesitado, pues he aprendido a estar satisfecho en cualquier situación en que me encuentre. Sé lo que es vivir en la pobreza, y lo que es vivir en la abundancia. He aprendido a vivir en todas y cada una de las circunstancias, tanto a quedar saciado como a pasar hambre, a tener de sobra como a sufrir escasez” FILIPENSES 4:11-12. 2. ADMINISTRAR Somos responsables ante Dios por la manera en que usamos cada hora de nuestro día y cada moneda que tenemos. Cada decisión financiera debe estar en armonía con los principios bíblicos. Principio: Cuando administramos sabiamente cantidades pequeñas, Dios nos confiará cantidades mayores. (Lucas 16:10)
3. DAR La libertad financiera se completa con el dar bíblicamente. El dar activa la provisión de Dios en nuestros asuntos financieros. (Lucas 6:38) Principio: Cuando v tesoros en el cielo, incrementamos y reflejamos nuestro amor por Dios. (Mateo 6:20,21) La bendición del SEÑOR es la que enriquece, y él no añade tristeza con ella. (Proverbios 10:22)

WHAT IS HAVING FINANCIAL FREEDOM? Today society has a wrong idea of what it means to have “financial freedom”. With the social media spread, countless people have appeared promoting financial freedom and what they are really promoting is: get rich! The problem with this view is that financial stress comes no matter how much money you have in your bank account. In order to have a clear idea of what true financial freedom means, we first need to understand what financial slavery is.
Financial Slavery
The opposite of freedom is slavery, so if we want to have freedom, we must first verify whether or not we are financial slaves.
Slavery is being tied to something, it’s being in bondage. The Bible teaches us that the root of all evil is the love of money (I Timothy 6:10). Money isn’t the root of all evil, but the love of money; When finances rule our lives, decisions, and moods, we fall into financial bondage. As Christians we have to learn to cede ownership of all our possessions to God, including money, time, family, material things, education, career, and even the future potential for greater income. We must not only recognize with our prayers and songs that he’s Lord, but we must also learn to manage everything we have as stewards and not as “owners”. This attitude is essential if we want to experience true financial freedom.
Basic Factors of Financial Freedom
“My money” is a deposit that the Lord has entrusted to me, I must earn it and manage it according to biblical principles. There are three basic factors that we need to learn in order to properly manage the resources that God has entrusted to us.
(Proverbs 6: 6-8) 2. MANAGE We are accountable to God for the way we use every hour of our day and every coin we have. Every financial decision must be in harmony with biblical principles. Principle: When we manage small amounts wisely, God will entrust us with larger amounts. (Luke 16:10)
1. RECEIVE Through diligent work and the responsible, creative and resourceful use of resources is how we normally receive provision. At times, God moves us to pray wisely for the resources we need and to pray for specific needs that only He can meet. Principle: To the way that we work with excellence, we will receive our support.
3. GIVE Financial freedom is completed with biblical giving. Giving activates God’s provision in our financial affairs. (Luke 6:38) Principle: When we invest treasures in heaven, we increase and reflect our love for God. (Matthew 6: 20,21) The Lord blessing is what makes you rich, and he doesn’t add sadness with it. (Proverbs 10:22)

n las últimas décadas los trastornos de ansiedad han crecido en proporciones epidémicas; si a esto añadimos los sucesos que nos ha traído el 2020, es evidente que muchas personas están viviendo con preocupación y ansiedad. En su más reciente libro, “Ansiosos por nada”, Max Lucado nos recuerda las palabras del apostol Pablo en Filipenses 4:6, “Por nada estéis afanosos…” y nos dice, “La presencia de la ansiedad es inevitable, pero la prisión de la ansiedad es opcional”. Con su estilo característico, muestra a los lectores la fórmula bíblica para una vida libre de preocupación constante, exhortándoles a ser cuidadosos con lo que piensan, a dirigir sus pensamientos hacia lo verdadero, lo honesto, lo puro, lo justo, lo
amable y lo que es de buen nombre, tal como lo describe el versículo 8. Al poner en práctica los consejos que nos da el libro, elaborados en base a lo escrito por Pablo en Filipenses, el lector podrá desarrollar las herramientas necesarias para enfrentar los embates de la ansiedad. ue en la década de los 90 cuando el Colegio Juárez inició con sus actividades. Hoy cuenta con un registro de 320 alumnos que estudian desde preescolar hasta secundaria. Basados en una educación cristiana, buscan que sus estudiantes sean personas completas y competitivas, desde la educación secular, como la bilingüe, además de la espiritual y complementaria que otorgan las actividades extracurriculares, señala Sarahí Romero, coordinadora general de direcciones de esta escuela. Adheridos a la SEP, manejan el material que se envía desde el gobierno federal, pero también hacen uso de otras editoriales como Monrunt para las clases en inglés y Santillana para las clases en español, sin contar con los cursos que aquí se imparten de robótica, computación, artes y educación física, además de las clases extracurriculares, como futbol, basquetbol, pintura, danza moderna y voleibol. Romero enfatizó que los alumnos de Colegio Juárez no son sólo cristianos, sino que más del 80 por ciento no profesan esa fe, pero se han quedado porque a los padres les ha gustado la metodología y la enseñanza del lugar. “El colegio es una oportunidad de evangelismo, no nos cerramos a que sólo se inscriban niños de padres cristianos, estamos abiertos a todo el público”, menciona. En esta escuela, los alumnos llevan un libro devocional con el cual se fomenta la lectura de la Biblia y el conocimiento de versículos en compañía de los padres y maestros, fomentando el crecimiento de todos los involucrados en la educación y crianza de los menores. “Es un acompañamiento completo con el niño y los padres, y los padres están agradecidos del conocimiento y comportamiento de los niños”, añade Romero.

Los costos para que los niños estudien en el lugar varían según el grado y cuentan con diversas becas: • Preescolar, de los 2 mil a 3 mil 700 pesos, según el mes en el que se haga el pago. LA EDUCACIÓN CRISTIANA AL ALCANCE DE TODOS ELIZABETH SORIANO

Si bien se ha pensado por años que la educación particular y además cristiana es sólo para quienes tienen cierto nivel económico, Educando a la Niñez A.C. ha roto este estereotipo, ya que se ubica en una de las zonas más vulnerables de la ciudad, según las autoridades municipales. Ubicada en la calle Canutillo 2430 de la colonia Ladrillera de Juárez, Educando a la Niñez A.C. nació en 1997 como comedor infantil, relata Elsa Iveth Valenzuela Rojas, directora de la escuela y quien narra que el pastor Gilberto Mauricio Serrano vio la necesidad de los niños del lugar y abrió este espacio que posteriormente se convirtió en una institución educativa. Incorporada a la SEP, Educando a la Niñez brinda becas a los niños de escasos recursos para que sigan estudiando y en otros casos también ofrece precios accesibles para que nadie se quede sin recibir una educación con valores cristianos. “Se empezó con preescolar y fue creciendo hasta llegar a primaria; ahorita tenemos desde preescolar hasta sexto año de primaria, se ha llegado a tener alrededor de 200 niños”, señala Elsa Valenzuela. Al sexto año de su fundación, la escuela experimentó tiempos difíciles. Ciudad Juárez vivió una temporada de lluvias que provocó inundaciones nunca vistas, “por las inundaciones mucha gente tuvo que migrar, el plantel se quedó sin directora, el alumnado bajo, estuvimos a

punto de cerrar”, cuenta Elsa. Elsa señala que sólo la ayuda de Dios ha mantenido a flote la escuela, así como también las donaciones de personas que desean rescatar a los niños a través de la educación y así brindarles una mejor oportunidad de vida. “Actualmente tenemos 160 niños, pero 20 de ellos son becados completamente, no pagan ninguna cuota, tanto en colegiaturas como en desayunos, el resto están becados al 65 por ciento” enfatizó. Los costos para que un menor estudie son de 330 pesos, y no hay requisitos previos para que los infantes puedan matricularse, no hay necesidad de que profesen la fe cristiana y tampoco tener un promedio sobresaliente. “Hemos tenido niños con problema de lenguaje, sordomudos, entre otras capacidades diferentes. Located at 2430 Canutillo Street in the Ladrillera de Juárez neighborhood, Educando a la Niñez A.C. It was born in 1997 as a children’s dining room, says Elsa Iveth Valenzuela Rojas, it´s principal and who narrates that Pastor Gilberto Mauricio Serrano saw the need of the local children and opened this space that later became an educational institution. Validated by the Education authorities, Educating Children provides scholarships to low-income children to continue studying and in other cases it also offers affordable prices so that no one is left without receiving an education with Christian values. “It started with preschool and grew up to elementary school; Right now we have from preschool to sixth year of elementary school, we have had around 200 children”, says Valenzuela. Six years after their foundation, the school experienced difficult times. Ciudad Juárez experienced a rainy season that caused floods never seen before, there were landslides, collapsed dams, the Rio Grande overflowed and unfortunately human losses, and the school, being in a risk area, was severely affected. “Due to the floods, many people had to migrate, the campus was left without a director, the students were few, we were about to close”, says Valenzuela. Elsa points out that only God’s help has kept the school afloat, as well as donations from people who want to rescue children through education and thus give them a better chance at life. “Currently we have 160 children, but 20 of them have full scholarships, they don’t pay any fees, both in tuition and breakfasts, the rest have 65 percent scholarships”, she emphasized. The costs for a minor to study are 330 pesos, and there are no prerequisites for infants to be able to enroll, there is no need for them to profess the Christian faith and not have an outstanding average. “We have had children with language problems, deafmutes, among other different capacities. We have many children who are not received in public schools, most of the children are unconverted and they take what they learn (the word of God) to their homes and there are testimonies of families that have come to the church through the teachings taught at school”, Elsa added. Pese a ser una escuela identificada como no cristiana, sus valores y currícula cuentan con principios que permiten fomentar un estilo de vida espiritual y bíblico en sus alumnos, dice Jaime Mercado de Alba sobre el Colegio Paulo Freire, el cual dirige. El Maestro Mercado enfatiza que en la institución se siguen los valores de la SEP, pero “los mencionamos como valores cristianos porque nuestra intención es ir más allá en los valores tradicionales, tratando de enfocar a los niños realmente vistos con una óptica de Dios”. Debido a esta filosofía cristocentrica, comenta que la primera pregunta de los padres de familia es “¿esta escuela es cristiana?”, a lo que responden que no, pero que sus valores se centran en Dios, lo cual se aprecia en su publicidad y en carteles dentro de la institución. Con más de 20 años de trayectoria en Ciudad Juárez, cuentan con educación bilingüe que ini-

cia desde preescolar y continúa en la primaria; los alumnos llevan todas las clases que marca la SEP, además de clases extracurriculares como zumba, futbol, computación y karate. El costo para el ciclo escolar 2020-2021 es de 2,500 pesos de inscripción, así como una colegiatura mensual de 1800, cifra en la que se incluye la atención psicológica requerida y asesoría nutricional. Incorporado a la Secretaría de Educación y Deporte del Gobierno del Estado de Chihuahua, con Clave 08PBH3664J, el Bachillerato Integral de Ciudad Juárez nació en el 2008 como una forma de dar seguimiento al trabajo que la mayoría de las escuelas cristianas realizaban hasta el nivel de secundaría en aquel entonces. Con 12 años de trayectoria como director fundador de esta escuela y más de 30 años como director y docente, Eduardo Salmerón Dimas señala que la educación basada en los principios bíblicos ha sido una herramienta que ha fortalecido a 13 generaciones de egresados, ya que además de aprender valores los alumnos reciben un programa de formación académica (bachillerato general de 3 años), que les permite ingresar al nivel superior en cualquier tecnológico o universidad en áreas como ingenierías y ciencias de la salud, en nuestra ciudad o el extranjero.
