79TH ANNUAL FOUNDER’S DAY

of the Perfect Blend: Youth Leadership; Legendary Women and Future Legends all exemplify her passion to 1) show young girls of color that they have amazing role models right here in their own communities-women from who they can glean and learn to guide their life’s path; and 2) honor the extraordinary accomplishments of women in the community, bringing those women into the lives of young women and giving the “legends” a platform to share their storied accomplishment with the larger community. By connecting the young and mature, the vision came to fruition – recognizing the talents in the African American community and providing mentors for young women and girls. 2017 marked ten years of the Perfect Blend. Mentoring and scholarships have been provided to nearly 200 girls and 120 women have been recognized and designated as Legendary Women in our community. The Perfect Blend, Inc. is a culmination of her many years of service and Jeanette and the Perfect Blend collaborates with various organizations to bring value to our community.

A dedicated, longtime resident of Newhallville community, she has worked diligently to serve, fight for and enhance the well-being of the neighborhood. She is a hardworking community activist who leads many community efforts. She has been co-chair, treasurer and advisor to Newhallville Community Management Team, and facilitated the Newhallville Neighborhood Reunion She was pivotal in “One City Initiative: 60 Days of Fun.” She created the Newhallville Summer Festival and The Community Holiday Lights Contest.

Jeanette has received several awards: Christian Community Commission, NCNW Bethune Height Recognition, Delta Sigma Theta Community Impact, Kwanzaa Award and CARE Health Leadership Program Certificate. She received “Key to the City” from Mayor Toni harp.

Jeanette’s life work has been a wonderful blend and she’s always creating new chapters of service to all. There is more to come.
