This past year, Denval recently founded Bron & Noir Society with the aim to uplift, inspire, educate and entertain CT’s multicultural community and their allies. Under Bron & Noir, he successfully launched the inaugural Connecticut Men of Color Flash mob. The event was covered by WTNH’s very own Keith Kountz as it fashionably showcased men who embody excellence and have made major contributions in various sectors in the state of Connecticut. Bron and Noir Society’s second event of the year was hosted at Southern CT State University called “Multicultural Explosion: An Evening Honoring Grit, Perseverance, and Success. The night was filled with celebration of multicultural students through awards that embodied the three aforementioned characteristics. The event was centered around uplifting students of color who demonstrated resilience throughout the semester. There was also a panel discussion that told the stories of five individuals who have conquered tremendous odds through adverse circumstances and turned out successful. The panelists shared tips with students on how to empower themselves and develop tools to be successful. The event was revered by students and faculty as a vibe that was purely inspirational and had a long lasting residual impact of positivity within the SCSU community.
In Danbury, Denval serves as one of the coaches for the Danbury Athletic Youth Organization’s 6 and Under Football Team. This role not only allowed him to develop young athletes including his son, but also has resulted in two back to back undefeated seasons. He looks forward to this upcoming fall where he will be on the coaching staff for 8U football.
Denval has been recognized by Ethnic Online Magazine as an Ethnic Gem of New England for my contributions to Yale University, Southern CT State University, Non Profits, and the State of CT. He has also been recognized by Yale University, Connecticut Young Professionals, and Future Leaders of Yale with the 2019 Visionary Award for Co-founding the Lean-In Mentorship Program and supporting early career professionals by fostering candidacy building strategies while promoting internal employee growth with meaningful career opportunities. Nationally, he has been recognized by the American Journal of Management as they published his research on the “Thinkubator Approach to Solving the Soft Skills Gap” in 2020.

Denval earned his MBA in Human Resources Management from Strayer University’s Jack Welch School of Management, Herndon, VA along with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies, Health Service Administration, Wellness & Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University (all while serving as Honors College Resident Advisor). He is also the devoted Father of a very active 7-year old son.
