Appreciation Award
Carol Teel has been a member of The New Haven Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc since 2017. She currently serves as Sergeant at Arms, a member of the Membership Committee and is Chair of the Ticket and Seating Committee for Founder’s Day. She also serves the club by assisting with the Denim and Pearls Veterans Appreciation as well as volunteering with other committees as needed. She also assists the club with organizations such as the African American Women’s Summit and the Martin Luther King Day event to assist the People of the Village.

Carol is a native of Greene County and Pitt County in North Carolina where she was raised by her grandmother. She is one of 5 sisters and 9 brothers. Her grandmother instilled the importance of giving, kindness, respect and the joy of showing love, which she lives by today.
Carol graduated high school and moved to Washington, DC to attend Cortez Peters Business College. After a year and a half, she moved to Connecticut where her mother and some of her siblings lived. As a CT resident she has worked for Yale New Haven Chemo Lab, Youth Continuum and The New Haven Family Alliance. She dedicated over 24 years of service to the Southern New England Telephone Company (SNET). After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services from Springfield College in MA, she secured employment with the State of Connecticut Department of Children and Families as a Social Worker in 2000, where she retired in 2016
