Thompson RCMP respond to drowning at Norplex Pool. On April 23, 2017, at approximately 3:20 pm, Thompson RCMP responded to the Norplex Pool for a possible drowning. When officers arrived on scene, they found EMS work-

ers performing CPR on an unresponsive 7-year-old boy, who was pulled from water by lifeguards. It is believed the boy, who is from Split Lake, MB, was with a group of friends and may

have wandered off when he entered the water in a deeper part of the pool and was not able to keep himself afloat. The boy was rushed to the local hospital where he was pronounced deceased as re-

suscitation efforts were not successful. No foul play is suspected. Thompson RCMP along with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner continue to investigate.
