The Wanaka Arts Society is holding its annual Easter exhibiton at The Venue, Corner of Cardrona Valley Road and Orchard Road this year. June Harris who was made a Life Member at the 2013 AGM, for her helpful and constant work as a committee member and artist, will be among the exhibitors.

June has been painting ever since her childhood. With her favourite subjects being flowers and landscapes. She moved to Lake Hawea in the early 1980s and not long after, joined the painters’ group, then the Wanaka Arts Society. She says she enjoys the camaraderie of the Arts Society… “They are friendly and like minded people and we have a lot of fun!”

In 2001, June decided to take up painting seriously; since then winning awards in Otago, Southland and Marlborough including the Carbase Streetscapes Award and Lula Currie Award, both in Dunedin.
