THE STAR:

St. Rita will be one of the younger teams in the country coming into the 2021-22 season, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be able to compete at the highest level. Sophomores James Brown and Morez Johnson are two big men in the state of Illinois whose stocks are on the rise in the country. Johnson just committed to play for the Fighting Illini in 2024 and Brown is looking at offers from Illinois and other high majors. They’ll operate as one the best 1-2 frontcourt duos in the state. Trying to stop both of these guys will be difficult to achieve; instead it will quickly turn into a pick your poison scenario for the opposition. , because stopping both Brown and Johnson in the same game is going to be a tough feat.

Juniors Kaiden Space and Bryce Coleman will play big minutes in the backcourt for head coach Roshawn Russell. Space and Coleman are both receiving high Division I offers, and both should benefit greatly from running alongside talented big men like Johnson and Brown. Sophomore Jaedin Reyna is also on the radar of college coaches, and the 2024 prospect will find minutes in Russell’s rotation as well.
