THE STAR:

Minnehaha Academy had the luxury of rostering two 5-star recruits over the past four years in Jalen Suggs and Chet Holmgren. The latter has moved on to Gonzaga, leaving a bevy of experienced role players to step into larger roles. 4-year varsity contributor Prince Aligbe is the highest-ranked prospect on the roster, and the Boston College commit should have a terrific senior season. The 6-foot-6 Aligbe (247 No. 111) will be the feature piece for the RedHawks, and their season-long success likely depends on how he makes the transition to being the go-to-guy.

Aligbe will have a talented roster alongside him, as Donovan Smith and dual-sport athlete Chase Carter are both back for their senior seasons. The latter is also a star defensive lineman on the football field, currently committed to Michigan State. Aligbe, Smith, and Carter all ran with Grassroots Sizzle in the Under Armour Association, so they should have elite team chemistry to start the season. Sophomore guard Mercy Miller returns, and the 6-foot-4 Houston commit has a chance to lead the RedHawks in scoring. Miller dazzled during the grassroots season for JL3 Elite 15U, parlaying his strong production into a verbal commitment to play for head coach Kelvin Sampson at the next level.
