THE STAR:

Solomon Washington returns for his senior season, and the 4-star swingman will have the keys to the car. Washington showed improvements in his all-around game this spring and summer playing with Team Thad on the EYBL circuit. Washington will be looking to improve on 2020-21 per-game averages of 13.3 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.7 steals, and 3.9 blocks. Washington is more of an off-ball slasher, and with his athleticism and how well he moves without the ball, he can score points and impact the game in a variety of different ways. Washington should have another stat stuffing season again with Carver, making them a contender to improve on their already gaudy 29-2 record from a season ago.

Scoring guard Dorian Finister proved to be one of the most underrated players in the nation this summer with Drive Nation (TX). At 6-foot-5, Finister is a bigger guard who can fill it up from the perimeter. In his junior season at Carver, Finister averaged 13.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game a season ago- numbers that he should shatter with a bigger role. Finister’s best attribute is his shooting; he shoots a high percentage off the dribble or the catch. His athleticism is very underrated as well, as he was guilty of putting several defenders on a poster this spring and summer. Point guard Willie Anderson will be the anchor of the squad, especially on the defensive end. His quickness and lateral speed allow him to stay in front of the opposition, and his effort-level will be contagious.
