THE STAR:

The Spartans will be looking to improve on their 1-6 record in the NIBC in the 2020-21 season. The first order of business for Coach Dan Prete will be to try to fill the void of the departed Malik Bowman, who moved on to Overtime Elite. One of the players that will look to step up for the Spartans is 2023 6-foot-6 Jason Rivera-Torres. The 2023 lengthy point guard currently holds offers from St. Louis and TCU. He will be the one calling the shots in Coach Prete’s offense in a gauntlet of an NIBC season. His combination of athleticism, energy on both ends of the court, and his ability to pass the ball will be key for the Spartans hopes this year.

2024 TJ Robinson from New Jersey had a solid grassroots season, showing off his next level shooting ability. The smooth lefty will look to provide the kind of dynamic scoring needed to keep up with some of the elite offenses in the NIBC conference. He and Riverra-Torres will be key on both ends of the court for Coach Prete.
