THE STAR: gaels

Amani Hansberry, the 6-foot-8 forward out of the 2023 class will be the star once again for this year’s Mt. St. Joseph’s team. Ranked 132 by Rivals, Hansberry (247 Comp. 144) is one of the more polished big men in the Baltimore Catholic League (BCL). For his size, Hansberry moves very well and has displayed terrific footwork. Being a rim-runner, the 3-star big man can get straight to the block and position himself to be a scoring threat. Defensively, Hansberry is a capable shot blocker, and should routinely guard the opposition’s tallest player. With Hansberry transferring in, Mt. St. Joseph will continue to have one of the best rebounding teams in the Baltimore Catholic League.

THE SKINNY:

Future 5-star prospect Bryson Tucker is coming into his sophomore season with a lot of confidence, one year removed from averaging 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in 13 games. Tucker went into summer with a chip on his shoulder, earning starting-status on the U16 Team USA Junior National Team - helping them capture a Gold medal. Sophomore guard Ace Valentine and senior forward Aiden Mess should provide solid production in supporting roles. The Gaels should have one of the best all-around rotations on the east coast.

THE IMPACT PLAYERS:

2023 Amani Hansberry (6-foot-8) 2024 Bryson Tucker (6-foot-6) 2023 Ace Valentine (6-foot-1) 2022 Aiden Mess (6-foot-7)
