Dear Franchisees and The Joint Community,
I have now been in my role for more than 100 days and have had many meaningful conversations and interactions with members of our franchise system. What has stood out to me the most is the deep connection that everyone feels to our mission and the great fulfillment we find in the work we are doing to improve quality of life through routine and affordable chiropractic care. I am so grateful to be part of a mission-driven system and will make sure that we continue to bring it to life every single day.
In last month’s All Hands On Deck virtual meeting, I shared that The Joint is at a critical juncture of our business, but there is an exciting opportunity to reframe the vision of our future and make big, bold steps forward as a leader in the health and wellness industry. We must first, however, build a high-caliber strong foundation that can support our vision.
The Executive Leadership Team has established five priority objectives to strengthen clinic economics and reignite growth in 2025, and each objective will be supported via a robust framework of projects, business plans and ROIs.
I encourage you all to listen to the full recording of the All Hands On Deck webinar for a full overview of how we are setting the pace for the future of our organization. On March 4, we will hold our first Monthly Pulse virtual meeting and will share updates on the progress we are making within our priority objectives. Don’t forget to register!
Last week, we welcomed Regional Developers and their teams, Field Business Consultants and District Managers for the Field Leadership Meeting here at the CSC Headquarters in Scottsdale. During our time together, we outlined more details on our priority objectives and introduced new processes that will ensure we stay focused on achieving our goals. It was a very productive and energizing week, and I’d like to thank everyone who participated and contributed.
We are in the final days of our Step Into Wellness Sale so I encourage everyone to continue engaging with our non-member and lapsed patients to inform them of the savings that are available through the promotion. The clinics that are most engaged with the promotion are yielding excellent results and we are setting ourselves up for even greater success in March when we traditionally experience the strongest New Patient increases.
My visits to local markets across the system continue. I recently spent time in Atlanta, Dallas and Jacksonville, FL and remain inspired by the passion and dedication of our franchisees, Wellness Coordinators and doctors. I had the privilege of attending Life West’s inaugural Nexus Chiropractic Conference at the college’s new campus in Omaha, NE and visited several of our clinics in Iowa.
In addition, Chief Marketing Officer Lori Abou Habib and Dr. Steve Knauf, D.C., Vice President of Chiropractic and Compliance, visited clinics in Minneapolis, and a highlight of their trip was participating in the homecoming event for Dr. Knauf’s alma mater: Northwestern Health Sciences University. Please enjoy the photos from our travels on page 11!
Lori and I also attended the International Franchise Association’s annual convention in Las Vegas and I am thrilled to announce that Dr. Anthony and Nina Tran were selected as selected as a 2024 Franchisee of the Year! They are incredible stewards of our brand who consistently exemplify strong leadership, innovation and a dedication to serve their patients, their community and their fellow franchisees. Congratulations to Dr. Anthony and Nina on this welldeserved recognition!
Registration for the 2025 Spring Summit will be available soon and I hope you will all join me, the Executive Leadership Team and other CSC senior leaders on April 16 in Phoenix. During the program, we will share key business updates and the progress we are making on our priority objectives. I am excited that we’ll hear from some of our top-performing franchisees from across our system. Then, we will recognize all the outstanding accomplishments from 2024 at our annual Awards Show.
Again, I am very excited about our future and the opportunities that lie ahead. Thank you for your engagement and support.
Together we serve,
Sanjiv Razdan

• Hear key business updates from Executive Leadership and other senior leaders from the CSC.

The Joint introduced marketing automation in May 2023 with six different email series distributed through the Iterable platform. Each campaign was designed to support lead generation, new patient onboarding and patient retention and the content was tailored to the unique needs and perceptions of prospective and current patients based on their chiropractic journey.
To start 2025, The Joint has introduced a new targeted series of email newsletters to patients with content that is more specifically defined to their chiropractic experience. These series are designed to nurture new leads, reduce one-and-done patients and address common concerns around chiropractic and The Joint’s model. In addition, this phase of marketing automation will also lay the groundwork for more personalized engagement in the future.
An important marketing focus is to boost lead conversion and reengagement by nurturing new digital leads and re-engaging high-value patients who have only visited once. The table below outlines how marketing automation will support this objective:
To meet the second objective, we outlined three new opportunities to engage patients through emails crafted around particular behaviors. The table below highlights the strategy and tactics used to support our objective to increase lifetime patient value.
In order to better nurture potential patients and drive conversion, we used key learnings from the first phase of marketing automation to create more personalized messaging for each audience segment. Other iterative improvements include increased distribution frequency, optimized deployment schedules and incorporation of patient testimonials to build trust and maximize impact.
The enhancements led to a 232% increase in Click-to-Open Rate, which measures the percentage of recipients who clicked within an email, engaging with content, after opening it. We also observed near-identical conversion rates compared to the previous series, but we expect conversion rates to rise over time as more leads progress through the email series.
The remainder of 2025 will focus on continued testing, analysis and iteration to best understand the personalized, targeted content that will lead to shifts in patient behavior.
Marketing automation is one part of The Joint’s patient engagement strategy and will continue to play a critical role in improving patient experiences, deepening relationships and further improving retention and engagement.

Creating a strong DC-WC connection
"The chemistry between Wellness Coordinators and chiropractors is crucial because seamless handoffs between the DC and WC ensures that patients leave fully informed about their treatment plan, return schedule and the benefits of choosing a Wellness Plan. The combination of having a seasoned WC and DC and training new staff for at least two weeks prior to opening was essential to our success."
The importance – and result – of consistent team huddles
"Team huddles help reinforce great habits while opening up the opportunity to discuss areas of
improvement on a day-to-day basis. One practice that was born from these discussions was asking patients who did not convert to leave reviews highlighting their experiences before leaving the clinic. These patients would often return for care since they're able to positively reinforce themselves of an overall great experience with little pressure."
Proactive New Patient outreach
"We found that preemptively contacting patients who have already scheduled allowed for every available new patient slot to be filled."
Kudos!
"I’d like to give a huge shoutout to both Dr. Daniel Rae, D.C. and Dr. Joel Manion, D.C. for allowing our DC to join in on a great Bootcamp which immensely helped us polish our scripts, handoffs and overall conversion. I highly recommend it! "
The Joint’s President and CEO Sanjiv Razdan, alongside other members of the Executive Leadership Team, recently visited the Atlanta, Jacksonville and Las Vegas markets and stopped by some clinics to observe, listen, learn and further immerse himself in the business.

The Joint Chiropractic – Greenwood (IN)
Since starting at The Joint in July 2022, Sherry Armstrong has been consistent, dependable and dedicated, always going above and beyond to take care of the clinic, doctors and, most importantly, her patients.
Sherry’s professional attitude shines through in every interaction, especially in her patient communication. Her high conversion rate is the result of her proactive approach to seeking out solutions for her patients to help them continue their chiropractic care. She loves the feeling of seeing a patient who arrived in pain leave the clinic with a smile and walking better.
Sherry also does all she can to support a positive and productive clinic environment. She often stays after closing or comes in early to complete tasks, clean and prepare for the patients. She also assists with onboarding new Wellness Coordinators for Bree and Drew Emsweller’s four clinic locations.
As long as the weather permits, Sherry and her book can be found sitting outdoors during her lunch break. She is involved in her church and loves spending time with her family. In particular, she is very excited for her daughter’s upcoming wedding in April!
