Dear Franchisees and The Joint Community,

Thank you to our franchisees, doctors, regional developers, operators, managers and other team members from across the country who attended our Pulse Summit here in Phoenix! I hope you all enjoyed our time together as much as I did. As my first franchise system event as The Joint’s President and CEO, it was a great milestone for me personally, and speaking with many of you in person and hearing your passion was a wonderful reminder of exactly why I joined this company.

The way people are approaching their health is changing, and we are in position to shape the future of care. Our Pulse Summit was an opportunity to align on a consistent, sustainable and unified path to success so that we can care for more patients more effectively.

My commitment to you is to continue strengthening The Joint so that we are better equipped to deliver on our mission and support stronger, more sustainable growth. The new initiatives, programs and resources that were presented at the Pulse Summit is what will bring the foundation of our business back into a healthy rhythm. With these strategies in place, we are moving forward with intention, purpose and a clear vision for the future.

We also took the time to recognize and celebrate over 200 clinics and individual contributors at our Awards Show. It was an absolute joy to recognize the outstanding teams and people who truly define our brand. Congratulations to all the winners!

We are conducting a short survey about the event which attendees received via email on April 23. Please make sure that you take the time to complete the survey and provide your feedback so that we can continue providing an excellent event setting and experience for everyone. All responses are due by May 2.

I am also very excited about another major milestone for our brand – the launch of the MVP mobile app. Beta testing has been a success thus far, and we have entered into our Friends & Family testing, which is approximately 50 clinics across the country.

Our mobile app is a big step forward in enhancing our patient’s experience in the clinic, but we must be prepared to provide the best possible product. I encourage everyone to review the actions and best practices listed on pages 16-17 and begin executing these foundational elements now for a successful launch later in Q2 and Q3.

At the Pulse Summit, I announced that I will begin hosting ongoing franchisee roundtable forums so that we can continue to discuss the issues that are most important to you and keep aligning on how we move forward together.

These will be smaller virtual sessions so that we can more effectively engage with each other, listen to one another and exchange ideas, and I am very much looking forward to keeping our dialogue going. Details on how you can sign up for one of these roundtable sessions will be shared in our next Monthly Pulse virtual meeting on June 5.

On April 16, nearly 300 members of our franchise system gathered in Phoenix for the 2025 Pulse Summit. This one-day event featured presentations from Executive Leadership, panel discussions with franchisees and chiropractors and a Vendor Fair with some of The Joint’s trusted supplier partners.

Franchisees, regional developers, clinic management teams, field operators, CSC associates and other guests came together to build upon our culture, bring our values to life and set the pulse for the future of our business.

The 2025 Pulse Summit concluded with The Joint’s annual Awards Show. Nearly 230 awards were presented to the standout individuals and clinic teams from across our system. Then, attendees gathered for a celebratory cocktail reception!

HONORING CLINIC EXCELLENCE

The first half of the program celebrated the topperforming clinics of 2024.

Last year, 17 new clinics achieved GO Elite with at least 400 New Patients and $30,000 in sales combined in the first 60 days of opening.

Dr. Daniel and Mary Rae, D.C. received the award for Top 1st Year Sales for The Joint Chiropractic – Visalia (CA). The clinic opened on May 1, 2023 and had over $764,000 in sales in its first year of operation.

196 clinics were honored for sales excellence in 2024.

76 clinics attained Bronze status with sales from $750,000 to $849,999

67 clinics reached Silver status with sales from $850,000 to $999,999

51 clinics achieved Gold status with sales from $1 million to $1,499,999

MARKETING EXCELLENCE AWARD

The winner of the Individual Recognition Award for Marketing Excellence is chosen by The Joint’s Marketing Department for exhibiting all around excellence in marketing their clinics and the brand to their local community in 2024.

Dan and Dorit are committed to executing strong, brand-aligned marketing programs and are active participants in the Atlanta coop. Their proactive event coordination has strengthened current patient relationships while also consistently bringing in new patients to their clinics.

The Presidential Awards symbolize the pinnacle of achievement within The Joint Chiropractic community and spotlight individuals who embody excellence in every aspect of our organization. The selection process is extremely rigorous with extensive discussion and careful weighing of the merits, performance metrics and contributions of each candidate.

Wellness Coordinator of the Year

The 2024 Wellness Coordinator of the Year is Christi Shannon of The Joint Chiropractic –Lexington (SC)!

Christi is described as the heart and soul of her clinic and cares deeply about the success of her team and the wellbeing of her patients. In 2024, she achieved an impressive 76% total conversion percentage and a 79% New Patient conversion rate. Christi represents the brand with pride and professionalism and creates a welcoming atmosphere for every patient who walks through our doors.

“After more than nine years of unwavering service, Christi continues to be an indispensable asset, not just to my clinics but to The Joint brand as a whole,” said franchisee Bob Keen who nominated Christi for the award.

Chiropractor of the Year

The 2024 DC of the Year is Dr. Ronald Crouse, D.C. from The Joint Chiropractic – Laveen (AZ)!

PC of the Year

Dr. Crouse averaged over 900 adjustments per month with an incredible 84% conversion rate and saw about 77 new patients per month. Since Laveen opened in January 2022, it has quickly grown to over 900 active members thanks to Dr. Crouse’s commitment to providing an excellent experience to both new and returning patients. He connects with every patient and keeps the entire clinic team focused on both clinic goals and the broader impact the clinic has on the local community.

“Dr. Crouse is originally from the city of Laveen, and now he gets to take care of its citizens by providing the best chiropractic care in town,” said franchisee Erica Berl in her nomination.

“His passion for helping people has brought him to this full circle moment, and I know all of his patients can sense how genuinely he cares about their treatment.”

The 2024 PC of the Year is Colorado’s Dr. Ryan Baack, D.C.!

Dr. Baack not only excels in his technical skills, but he also takes the time to mentor and teach others, creating an environment of collaboration and continuous growth. He took on the PC role for Denver in May 2024 and, in less than a year, his leadership has led to significant improvements in all metrics.

“Dr. Baack’s ability to balance tough decision-making with compassion and respect for others has earned him the admiration of both peers and leadership,” said Alex Hanson, Chief Operating Officer for franchisees Phil and Erin Davis. “His influence has undoubtedly raised the bar for everyone involved.”

Regional Developer of the Year

The 2024 Regional Developer of the Year is Shane Weber from the greater Florida region!

Shane and his team are passionate advocates of The Joint’s initiatives and strong partners in driving new processes. His region was an early adopter of the Path to Profitability Program and he hosts monthly calls for franchisees to share best practices. He is also committed to developing The Joint’s DCs and his regional effort to leverage top chiropractors in the system to mentor doctors in his region has grown into a national program. From helping to plan a new clinic launch or supporting a patient appreciation event, Shane is always ready and willing to step in and lend a helping hand.

The 2024 Franchisees of the Year are Bob and Janet Keen!

Bob and Janet are passionate advocates for The Joint and believe in the power of the system working together to drive collective success. They are always ready to support neighboring clinics, share best practices and ideas or participate in new initiatives. Bob often serves as a coach and mentor to many franchisees throughout the system, offering guidance and encouragement.

Rookie Franchisee of the Year

The 2024 Rookie Franchisee of the Year is Jacki Walker!

Jacki’s two clinics are the first The Joint Chiropractic locations in San Francisco and her Daly City location achieved GO Elite honors. She is a highly engaged partner who embraces The Joint’s model and shares her expertise and insight with others who are beginning their journey with The Joint. Jacki maintains a strong presence in her clinic and motivates her doctors and Wellness Coordinators to continue evolving their career paths.

In addition to delivering exceptional care, the clinic also achieved among the highest overall scores in all three key patient experience metrics: New Patients, Total Conversion Percentage and Attrition.

Local Clinics Support Wellness Event for Area Public Schools

On March 22, Keyonna Starks, a Wellness Chiropractor at The Joint Chiropractic – Suffolk (VA) and Natasha Harper, a Wellness Coordinator at The Joint Chiropractic – Newport News (VA), represented the brand at the NNPS Wellness Expo.

This event is held annually at a local high school in Newport News, VA to support area public schools and introduce families to the tools and resources they need to improve and maintain healthy living. Keyonna and Natasha spent time engaging with the community and educating them about the benefits of routine chiropractic care at The joint. They interacted with around 400 attendees and generated a lot of interest from new patients in the area.

Ready, Set, Launch: Preparing

for the

Rollout of the MVP Mobile App

On April 21, beta testing for The Joint’s new MVP mobile app expanded to include select clinics around the system. There are nearly 50 clinics participating in this “Friends and Family” beta test in anticipation of our upcoming systemwide “soft launch” later in Q2. A full promotional launch of the MVP mobile app is on track for the beginning of Q3.

Our patients should be at the heart of everything we do at The Joint, and the MVP mobile app will provide patients with the features and capabilities they find the most important to their in-clinic experience.

We’ve compiled a series of actions that franchisees and clinic teams can do now that will make the mobile app launch seamless for patients. Taking care of these details before launch means fewer barriers, smoother experiences and more confidence for patients as they begin using the app.

Steps to Take Now for a Successful App Launch

1. Franchisees: Confirm clinic coordinates for “Patient Check-In” feature. We are requesting that all franchisees input accurate GPS coordinates for each of your clinic locations by May 1 . This will ensure that patients can check in via the mobile app correctly CLICK HERE to watch a video that demonstrates the process for providing clinic coordinates. CLICK HERE to access the submission form and input clinic details.

2. Ensure patient names are accurate in AXIS. Patients will be connecting their apps to their patient record using their legal first and last name. Additionally, patient names will autopopulate in the mobile app. It is crucial that any clinic notes, nicknames or other extra language is removed so that only the first and last names are displayed. As part of daily clinic activity, when you come across a name field with extra verbiage, please take the time to update accordingly.

3. Begin collecting patient phone numbers and email addresses when creating patient records in AXIS . Mobile app functionality will be tied to these fields and collecting this information now will create less work when the app is available for all patients. This information should be collected with all New Patients going forward. Teams may also start collecting this information for their long-standing patients who may be utilizing the app in the future.

Did You Know?

One of the top inquiries that clinics receive is from patients wanting to know which doctor is in the

clinic on a particular day. With the MVP mobile app, patients will be able to check if their favorite doctor is currently working in their local clinic prior to arriving.

Here’s more about how doctors and Wellness Coordinators can begin accurately using this feature now:

• DCs: Make sure “In Clinic” or “Out of Clinic” is accurately selected as part of your AXIS log in routine. At the time of log-in and when using the system, you can select “In Clinic” or “Out of Clinic.” An “In Clinic” selection will be displayed to patients using the mobile app so that they know which doctor(s) are seeing patients at any given location. Ensure you are accurately using this feature now so that you are in the habit when patients are regularly using the mobile app.

• WCs: Review the “In-Clinic Doctors” dashlet in AXIS Front Office throughout the day. The dashlet gives you visibility into the doctors that are being displayed as “In Clinic” on the mobile app. Check the dashlet throughout the day so that you can notify a DC if they are listed incorrectly and avoid displaying inaccurate information on the mobile app.

More information, including training resources, will be communicated as we move towards our systemwide launch of the MVP mobile app, but each of these actions plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth app rollout and delivering a high-quality, patient-focused experience. Clinic Health Report Now Available in MicroStrategy

The Clinic Health Report may now be accessed digitally in MicroStrategy and manual reports will no longer be distributed. Please follow the steps outlined below to access the report in MicroStrategy:

1. Log in to MicroStrategy 

2. After logging in, type Clinic Health Report into the search bar in the top right corner.

3. The report should appear in the search results. Click the report to open it and begin using it.

The Joint Establishes Endowed Scholarship with Northwestern Health Sciences University

Last month, The Joint and Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU) announced the creation of The Joint Chiropractic Scholarship endowment.

The Joint Chiropractic Scholarship endowment will generate more than $6,000 per year for scholarships to assist NWHSU in recruiting and retaining qualified students for a degree in chiropractic medicine. The first award is expected to be made in the winter of 2026.

This scholarship is part of The Joint’s ongoing investment in the future of chiropractic the next generation of doctors. Since 2018, The Joint has donated over one million dollars to support the chiropractic community.

Honoring the Life of Jimmy Knight

T he Joint is saddened by the news of the recent passing of Jimmy Knight, a long-standing and beloved operations leader in our franchise community. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his partner, Rob, his family, his organization and clinic teams and his colleagues throughout the system and at the CSC.

To know Jimmy was to love him. His warmth, humor, and unwavering kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was a bright light, a source of strength, and a true example of grace and generosity.

Lakeland Doctor Recognized as Top 3 Best Chiropractor

Dr. Brent Crumpton, D.C. of The Joint Chiropractic – Lakeland South was recently named one of the three best chiropractors in Lakeland, FL by Three Best Rated.

Three Best Rated finds the top 3 local businesses, professionals, health care providers and other services in key cities across the U.S. Each selection is chosen based on experience, business reputation, ratings, reviews, general excellence and other criteria. The evaluation process focuses on quality to help consumers find trustworthy services in their local area.

Dr. Crumpton earned his Doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida in 2014. He has worked at the Lakeland South clinic since December 2023. He is passionate about treating athletes and enjoys educating patients on the importance of routine chiropractic care in achieving fitness goals.

Chiropractic Connections: Building the Brand Across the Country

The Joint was a proud sponsor of the New Mexico Chiropractic Association’s (NMCA) Convention. The event brought in close to 300 doctors from throughout the state and our team was able to support the chiropractic profession and the association and facilitate recruiting efforts across New Mexico. The Joint was incredibly well received at the convention and the NMCA leadership team expressed sincere gratitude for our financial contribution and onsite presence. They even encouraged us to return next year with a speaking sponsorship role from the main stage!

We had great conversations with doctors who were curious about The Joint. Many asked thoughtful questions about employment opportunities, as well as franchise ownership.

The Joint Ventures team represented the brand at career fairs at the University of Western States and Life Chiropractic College West. We connected with over 75 students across both events, sharing insights about career opportunities with The Joint, opportunities to be a preceptor, associate and clinic director roles, and what sets our patient-focused model apart. We emphasized that The Joint Chiropractic isn't just a place to gain hands-on experience but a career destination!

Students were eager to learn more about practicing in high-volume settings, if there is a path to ownership through our franchise model, and the wide variety of locations available across the country. Several asked to schedule opportunities to shadow. We spoke to a variety of students as well, including some just entering the program and some preparing for graduation and heading into the workforce.

A special highlight of the UWS fair was when some returning students stopped by our booth just to say how impactful last year’s conversations were. These interactions served as a great reminder of the importance of The Joint’s presence at these events. The next generation of chiropractors is passionate and curious and supporting professional chiropractic events in turn supports them as they step into their careers.

NEW! Community and Review Management Guidelines

Effective April 22, The Joint is implementing new Community and Review Management Guidelines for social media and review response management.

All clinic staff, managers within a franchise organization and any third-party partners (outside of OTT or Coegi) that assist in local social media management are required to utilize these guidelines for all interactions across all social media and review platforms.

Interested in leveraging a social media influencer from your local market? The Joint has developed resource guides to help franchisees and co-ops source and evaluate a local influencer.

• Social Media Influencer Guide: Includes guidelines for reaching out to local influencers, best practices for compensating influencers and sample messaging and collaboration ideas.

• Working With The Joint Chiropractic: A guide that can be provided to influencers upon entering into a partnership. It covers partnership expectations, including best practices for authentically portraying their in-clinic experience to their followers.

Stroke Awareness eLearning Course

As previously communicated, The Joint has partnered with ChiroSecure to produce an informational video on stroke awareness. The video may be viewed as part of the Stroke Awareness elearning course now available in The Learning Center. All chiropractors have been auto-enrolled in this mandatory course. DCs are required to complete the elearning by June 1. To access the course, please follow the steps outlined below:

• Log into The Learning Center.

• Open the catalog and navigate to Chiropractic Care (Doctors Only).

• Locate “Stroke Awareness” and click Enroll.

Chiropractic 101 Curriculum

Chiropractic 101 is designed for WCs and non-doctor team members to gain a foundational understanding of what chiropractic is, the impact it has and how to communicate the basics to others. The three courses in the curriculum include Introduction to Chiropractic, Anatomy & Adjustments and Patient Communication Strategies.

To self-enroll, log into The Learning Center, open the Catalog and navigate to Business, Marketing, Operations > Operations > Front Office. Locate the course and click enroll.

WCs and non-doctors should work with their manager to determine if and when to take this training.

WC Sales Series

The WC Sales Series is designed to support Wellness Coordinators as they work to develop their sales skills. Each course focuses on a specific piece of the sales process and includes best practices and tips on how to improve in that area. There are two courses: Asking for the Sale and Handling Objections.

The courses are optional and learners will find value based on their level of experience.
