FROM THE CORNER OFFICE

Dear Franchisees and The Joint Community,

Happy New Year to you all! As we enter into 2025, I want to reiterate my gratitude for each and every one of you. It’s truly an honor to be part of such an incredible organization and I am very excited for the year ahead.

When we look back on 2024, there is much to celebrate. Here are some highlights:

• Performed 14.7 million patient visits, compared to 13.6 million in 2023.

• Treated 957,000 new patients, compared to 932,000 in 2023.

• Increased system-wide sales 9% and delivered 4% comp sales.

• Grew to 967 total clinics, up from 935 clinics at the end of 2023.

Last year, our clinic teams served more patients than ever before and that is due to the hard work, dedication and passion of our franchisees, incredible doctors and Wellness Coordinators and our trusted partners. By remaining focused on our mission and vision and keeping the patient at the core of everything we do, we will position ourselves well for even more success in 2025.

Earlier this month, we received letters of intent to refranchise the majority of the corporate clinic portfolio, and we are actively evaluating the options to ensure we enter into agreements that meet our sales and franchise license criteria. It is an encouraging step forward in our refranchising initiative.

Step Into Wellness Sale and Flex Plan Price Increase

We are starting the new year with two important strategies: the Step Into Wellness Sale and a price increase for the Flex Plan. More details can be found on page 12

The Joint has been conservative in our pricing approach, but there is a great opportunity to explore thoughtful price increases that will improve unit level economics and profitability while remaining affordable to current and prospective patients. In our discussions, it also became clear that we could enable increased price flow by planning pricing increases and promotions at the same time. This is an approach that we plan to execute throughout the year for greater success for both our promotions and pricing increases.

Welcome New NFAB Representatives!

I am excited to share that two franchisees have begun their first NFAB term: Brad Remington in Zone 1 and Billy Perkins in Zone 2. Both bring invaluable experience, having been franchisees in our system for many years. Congratulations Brad and Billy!

In addition, NFAB recently elected officers for the new term year:

• President: L.S. Carper (re-elected for a second term)

• Vice President: Dr. Daniel Rae, D.C.

• Secretary: Bryan Hurlburt (re-elected for a third term)

I’d also like to thank Teresa DiGiuseppe and Barrett McNabb for their outstanding service and contributions to NFAB. Their insights and expertise have helped me tremendously in my first few months as CEO, and I know their leadership has had a lasting impact on the system.

2025 Field Leadership Meeting

I am looking forward to hosting our RD partners and their teams as well as our FBCs and District Managers in February for the Field Leadership Meeting. I believe it will be a very productive time together and a wonderful opportunity to collaborate on the future of our business.

Save the Date: 2025 Spring Summit

I hope you will all join me, the Executive Leadership Team and senior leadership from the CSC and the field at the 2025 Spring Summit in April in Phoenix. This will be a one-day event in which we will share a more detailed view of the strategic roadmap of the company. This will include not just the strategy but also updates on key priorities and initiatives as well as business insights for our continued growth and success.

The day will conclude with our annual Awards Show, where we will take time to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of 2024. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication that drive our company forward.

"The Joint has been conservative in our pricing approach, but there is a great opportunity to explore thoughtful price increases that will improve unit level economics and profitability while remaining affordable to current and prospective patients."

Please see page 17 for some additional details and please mark your calendars. I look forward to seeing you all there and celebrating together!

Recently, I visited several clinics throughout Texas, and I continue to be very impressed by the care and compassion that our doctors and Wellness Coordinators exhibit every day when interacting with their patients. These visits allow me to learn directly from those on the front lines. The feedback, ideas and patient-focused solutions that come from these interactions help drive our success, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many of you.

Together we serve,

END OF YEAR WELLNESS SALE Outperforms

2023

Across All Metrics

Anew wellness routine is top of mind for many as a new year approaches, and The Joint’s End of Year Wellness Sale helped thousands of patients save on routine chiropractic care. Here are results and some key highlights:

• Total promotional sales exceeded $13.3 million, a 6.9 percent sales increase over 2023.

• The 6.9 percent increase in promotional sales from 2023 to 2024 is lower than the 21 percent year-over-year increase from 2022 to 2023. However, the 2024 End of Year Wellness Sale ran for 8 fewer days than in 2023 - a 15.4 percent reduction in duration.

• Average promotional revenue per clinic was $13,791, a 3.8 percent increase from 2023.

The Joint Begins Testing Kinetisense Motion Capture Technology in Three Clinics

On December 16, The Joint began a limited test of the Kinetisense KAMS Express Technology in three clinics, two franchised locations and one corporate-owned clinic.

Kinetisense uses motion capture technology to provide a real-time analysis of balance, posture, gait and range of motion. The 3D data is used to assist doctors in identifying areas of dysfunction and produces a visually engaging report with benchmarks so patients can track progress and remain committed to their treatment plan.

For several months leading up to the launch of the limited pilot, the Marketing and Operations Teams collaborated to determine opportunities to incorporate the Kinetisense technology within the parameters of the in-clinic process. Then, The Joint and Kinetisense developed a workflow for utilizing the technology that is tailored to our unique clinic environment.

This initial limited test was designed to understand the impact of this new service on our clinic operations, especially the initial visit process, in particular. We are focusing on overall sentiment and how the technology is received by patients, WCs, doctors and franchisees of the test clinics. We also want to gather insights on any benefits to patient education, interactions and conversions.

Innovation remains an exciting and essential opportunity for The Joint to expand in-clinic services and enhance the patient experience with new product offerings. We are excited about this next step forward in evaluating Kinetisense, its technology and the practical application for the benefit of our patients.

Billy Perkins to Serve as Newest NFAB Representative

NFAB is pleased to announce that Billy Perkins is the new representative for Zone 2, Area C (Oklahoma and Texas, except Houston) after Barrett McNabb recently announced his resignation. As per the NFAB Bylaws, Billy will complete the remaining year of Barrett’s original three-year term. Congratulations Billy!

At the age of thirteen, Billy began working alongside his father in the Perkins’ family-owned business in the oilfields of West Texas. He attended college at Texas A&M University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering in 1984. He returned home to work in the same oilfields he grew up in, but the family business was forced to close in 1985 due to the collapse in oil prices.

In 1988, Billy began his own service business at just 27 years old and quickly expanded to provide oilfield services in West Texas, Southeast New Mexico and Colorado. In 2016, the business was sold after 28 years, and Billy began the next chapter of his life: franchising with The Joint.

Billy has proudly partnered with his son, Dr. Drew Perkins, D.C., and Dr. Mike Shaw, D.C. to expand The Joint brand in Central Texas, opening their first clinic in August 2018. In six years, they have opened 15 locations along the Interstate 35 corridor from Waco to San Antonio.

Billy is excited to represent his fellow franchisees as a member of NFAB and use his past experience of owning and operating a business to problem solve and improve The Joint’s business model. He believes his understanding of industry challenges, day-to-day operations and the customer service experience provide him with the knowledge that can help the system succeed.

Barrett McNabb Concludes NFAB Term

The Joint would like to thank Barrett McNabb for his service to NFAB over the past five years. Barrett was first elected to NFAB in 2020 and was named president in 2022 and, again, in 2023. During his NFAB tenure, Barrett’s leadership helped guide The Joint through several new initiatives and we appreciate his dedication and commitment to improving the system.

DC Profile: Dr. Mark Levi, D.C.

The Joint Chiropractic – Indian Trail (NC)

When he was 13 years old, Dr. Mark Levi, D.C. decided he wanted to pursue a career in chiropractic after his own personal experience.

“I had a great experience and wanted to help others,” he says “I was amazed at how my life could change from a debilitating low back accident to walking near normal within minutes.”

Dr. Levi graduated from BYU-Hawaii then received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic in 2018. One year later, he began working for The Joint and helped open The Joint Chiropractic – Indian Trail in Unionville, NC in 2023. He has made an immediate impact on patients throughout the area with some even driving over 40 minutes to visit the Indian Trail location in order to be adjusted by Dr. Levi.

“I love working at The Joint because I get to care for people who have been everywhere else with no results and see their lives change through simple and effective care,” Dr. Levi says. “I love working at this location and practicing how I feel is best for the patient within my scope. I also like leaving work at the door so I can focus on my family at home.”

In between treating patients, Dr. Levi is ready to assist the Wellness Coordinators and additional doctors with anything and everything from taking out the trash to educating the clinic team on the importance of chiropractic care. His positive attitude and teamoriented spirit earned him a nomination as a 2023 DC of the Year.

Dr. Levi and his wife moved to North Carolina from Hawaii and are the proud parents of two daughters. In the past, he has received the great opportunity to teach at Sherman College.
