WHERE AI MEETS PERSONAL HEALTH — STAY HEALTHY & BE STRONG
FITNESS SPOTLIGHT
AI IS TAKING OVER THE WORLD – CAN IT DO EVERYTHING?
The rise of artificial intelligence is everywhere right now. It can sound like a human, look like one, create art, write code, even take over jobs that once felt secure from automation. It’s making its way into every industry, from retail and finance to medicine and customer service. AI is evolving fast—almost too fast—and for some, it’s freaking us out a bit. But the big question is: can AI do everything? Is there any part of human experience it can't infiltrate?
We decided to look under that rock, especially considering the explosive rise of bots and automated tools online. Just how pervasive is AI becoming, and where is it going next? We spoke to industry experts to find out.
“Bots now account for nearly half of all internet traffic globally,” HALF… “with so-called ‘bad bots’ responsible for a third.”
According to the 2024 Imperva Bad Bot Report, the proportion of internet traffic generated by bots hit its highest-level last year, up 2% from the year before. The report also highlights that traffic from human users has dipped to just 50.4%.
“Automated bots will soon surpass the proportion of internet traffic coming from humans, changing the way organisations approach building and protecting their websites and applications,”. “As more AI-enabled tools are introduced, bots will become omnipresent. Organisations must invest in ‘bot’ management and API security tools to manage the threat from malicious, automated traffic.”
AI in Fitness: The Next Frontier?
Alright, AI is basically dominating the internet, but surely there are areas it can’t infiltrate, right? Fitness seems like one of those spaces. After all, it’s about moving, sweating, and getting that physical high. But, as it turns out, even this realm isn’t immune to AI's grasp.
At first glance, fitness might seem like a purely human endeavour, personalised coaching, real-time motivation, and adjusting based on how you feel on any given day. But AI is already seeping in. From the fitness trackers that monitor our heart rates to the algorithms optimising our exercise routines, artificial intelligence is reshaping how we think about health and wellness.
AI-Guided Health: Should We Be Worried?
The truth is, AI isn’t just at the forefront of corporate offices and search engines. It’s in our workouts, in our diets, and it’s making a play to be in every part of how we live well. And it’s not necessarily a bad thing. With the right application, AI can help personalise fitness regimes even further.
“AI is definitely becoming a big player in the health space,” says Joel Dovey, founder of JDF Consultancy Ltd and creator of the Above & Beyond Programme. “With AI, we’re able to offer tailored coaching like never before. But we’re also learning that AI can’t replace human connection—it can only enhance it.”
Joel Dovey’s Above & Beyond Programme is dedicated to helping business owners boost their physical and mental performance through personalized coaching. But he’s also experimenting with AI tools to help clients speed up their results. “I’ve been testing AI as a supplement to our coaching programs, and it’s interesting. It provides efficiency, but at the end of the day, the human connection—the person-to-person support—is what makes all the difference. I see AI as a tool, not the solution.”
The 3-Minute Fitness Test: Where AI Meets Personal Health
Joel Dovey is launching the 3-Minute Fitness Test, powered by deep learning algorithms to assess fitness levels and improve routines. The test reveals:
• How close you are to your ideal physique
• Strengths and weaknesses in your routine
• Nutritional gaps • Ways to accelerate fitness results
• Boosts for sustainable energy • Long-term health improvements
“We’re using AI to fine-tune your fitness, not replace the human touch,” Joel Dovey explains. AI is a tool to enhance, not dominate, the fitness experience. Curious? Try Joel Dovey’s 3-Minute Fitness Test and see how AI can help you level up.
BABY CLUB SPOTLIGHT
BABY CLUB CHESHIRE: A SANCTUARY FOR NEW MUMS AND BABIES
In a world that can often feel overwhelming, especially for new parents, Baby Club Cheshire (BCC) has become much more than a baby class — it's a sanctuary.
Built from the heart and real-life experiences of its founder, Steph McCluckie, this unique community provides a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for new mums, dads, and even grandparents. Whether you're a first-time parent or welcoming your second or third child, Baby Club Cheshire offers a pocket of calm in what can often feel like a lonely and daunting journey.
Winding Road to a Dream
For as long as she can remember, Steph McCluckie always wanted to work with babies and children. But life, as it often does, took her on a winding path before she arrived at her dream. After finishing a law degree that didn’t feel quite right, she ventured into wedding planning. However, after the birth of her two daughters, Steph realised that this path no longer suited her, and she began thinking about a way to build something more personal, more fulfilling.
Having lived in Liverpool for 11 years, where both of her girls were born, Steph’s world shifted when she and her family relocated to Cheshire. Then, the pandemic hit. Lockdowns brought a unique isolation, and like so many new mums, Steph felt the weight of loneliness and uncertainty. It was in this space that the idea for Baby Club Cheshire was born — quite literally on Christmas Day in 2020.
Training during the pandemic was no easy feat. All of Steph's assessments were conducted over Zoom, and in her first classes, mums had to wear face masks and sit three metres apart. “Mad times,” as Steph describes it. But the need for connection and community only grew stronger during this period. What started as a few free baby massage taster sessions in a drafty village hall in Christleton, Chester, soon blossomed into a growing support network for local parents.
A Slice of Calm
Fast forward to today, Baby Club Cheshire has expanded far beyond Steph’s original vision. BCC now offers a variety of baby classes, including
PARENTS CAN FEEL EMPOWERED, CONNECTED AND CELEBRATED

spa-style baby massage and craft sessions, baby yoga, messy play, and story time combined with craft activities. Steph is also a licensed Makaton (baby signing) trainer, bringing another valuable skill set to the community.
These classes have spread beyond Cheshire, reaching Whitchurch in North Shropshire, Wrexham, Knutsford, and Nantwich — with more on the horizon in Wrenbury. The reach of BCC is impressive, drawing mums from as far afield as Shrewsbury, Merseyside, Staffordshire, and Flintshire.
At the heart of every session is a desire to create a gentle and relaxing escape for new parents. It's more than just a baby class; it’s a moment of peace. Parents are welcomed with open arms, reassured that they’re doing a fantastic job, and encouraged to celebrate the tiny victories that come with raising a baby. “I want them to leave feeling empowered, in love with their babies, and cherishing the crafts and memories we make together,” says Steph.
Everything about the BCC experience has been carefully thought out to provide this slice of calm. From the lighting and room scents to the robes and slippers offered during baby massage, every detail is designed to give mums something special to look forward to each week. It’s no wonder that many mums have returned to BCC with their second babies — a testament to the impact Steph’s classes have had.
Leading the Way for New Families
Looking ahead, Steph has big plan. She’s committed to establishing BCC as the leading baby class in the region, differentiating it further from the competition by continuing to innovate and provide unparalleled support to families. One of her most exciting ventures is partnering with Berries Wrenbury and working alongside Kelly, a former BCC mum, to bring the experience to even more parents.
And in the long term? Steph has a simple but heartfelt dream: to stay around long enough for her eldest daughter, Rosie, to one day join her in the business.

TFM review, pop in and make your holiday season tree-mendously magical we’ve already planned our visits, also apologies for all the Christmas quotes in this article, it’s only a bit of pun…
Ah, the dream of a white Christmas—it’s something we all secretly hold on to, even thought we know it's about as likely as seeing Santa knocking back a pint at The Wicky.
But no need for snow when Nantwich has festive charm in spades. This town can turn up the Christmas vibes like nobody’s business. Think cobbled streets, fairy lights twinkling above, and those mock-Tudor buildings looking like they’ve been plucked straight from a Hallmark Christmas movie. Basically, it’s Love Actually, but without the awkward airport sprint.
Now, before you start thinking Christmas is all about squeezing into a packed pub with your workmates, dodging "that one guy" in a light-up jumper who only drinks once a year (and it shows), hold up. Nantwich has so much more to offer than fighting for elbow room at the bar.
This year, we’re dialling up the festive cheer to maximum with the return of St Luke’s Hospice’s Christmas Tree Festival. Last year was merry and bright, but 2024? It’s going to blow the baubles off your tree. Over 50 Christmas trees will be on display at St Mary’s Church, each one decked out to the nines by local businesses and community groups. Picture a festive competition, except instead of duelling swords, they’re battling with tinsel, baubles, and fairy lights. It’s like the Christmas Olympics of tree decorating, and you’re invited.
The big light switch-on is always a festive favourite—packed to the rafters and giving the town square more sparkle than a glitter factory. Then, there’s the Nantwich Farmers' Market on November 30th and December 21st, where you can pick up everything from local produce to last-minute stocking fillers.
But that’s just the start. Here are a couple of festive events you don’t want to miss:
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA –ROYAL OAK, WORLESTON
Meeting Santa isn’t just for the kids—it’s practically a festive obligation. And if you’re going to meet the big man, why not do it in style? Head over to The Royal Oak for a morning of pancakes, presents, and maybe even a cheeky pint (for the grown-ups, naturally). Santa will be there, dishing out belly laughs, holiday wishes, and if you’re lucky, maybe a mimosa or two. Book fast, though—Santa doesn’t wait, and neither should you!
Date: 14th December / Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: The Royal Oak, Worleston
REASEHEATH COLLEGE
CHRISTMAS WREATH WORKSHOP
If you fancy getting a bit crafty this Christmas, then this one’s for you. Join the experts at Reaseheath College and make your very own luxury Christmas wreath—the perfect way to impress the neighbours and avoid awkward small talk about why your door is the only one on the street that looks bare. No experience needed—just bring your holiday spirit and a bit of patience for those fiddly bits. Trust us, it’s well worth it.
Dates: 23rd November 2024 / 30th November 2024 / 7th December 2024 Time: 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM / Fee: £55
So, whether you’re crafting your way to festive glory or just want to chow down on pancakes with Santa, Nantwich has your Christmas plans covered. Now, who needs snow?
TIPI WEDDING & EVENT HIRE BASED IN CHESHIRE
EVENTS SPOTLIGHT
ELEVATING EVENTS: MEET THE DREAM TEAM BEHIND THE TIPIS
We’ve all attended those magical outdoor events where everything from the tipis to the decor feels like a scene from a dream. But who’s behind these flawless setups? Enter Zoe McLellan and her incredible team, the masterminds behind Cheshire Tipi Co., transforming the UK’s outdoor event landscape.
At TFM, we wanted to dive deeper into the story behind the magic. From humble beginnings to becoming industry leaders, Zoe’s team has revolutionized events. Let’s take a look at how they did it.
From One Tipi to Full-Scale Event Mastery
It all started in 2018 when Zoe decided to use her family’s beautiful parkland to host events. “We started small, with just one tipi and a handful of events,” Zoe recalls. But their vision was much bigger. Fast forward to today, and Cheshire Tipi Co. is the go-to company for luxury outdoor setups, providing everything from tipis and stretch tents to elegant, luxury restrooms that leave behind the dreaded "festival loos" experience.
Whether it’s a wedding, corporate gathering, festival, or charity event, Zoe and her team know how to turn ordinary into extraordinary.
Expanding Offerings: Tipis, Tents, and Beyond
As demand grew, Zoe expanded their offerings. The partnership with John Stebbings (who owns Function Event Hire) added stage and lighting setups, as well as stretch tents, to their lineup. This broadened their ability to cater to larger and more diverse events.
Then the pandemic hit, and like man§y, they had to adapt. Zoe's team began selling stretch tents, becoming the North West’s primary reseller of RHI-Nordic stretch tents, and introduced luxury toilet hire, providing premium facilities to guests. Their adaptability meant they didn’t just survive—they thrived.
The All-In-One Event Solution
Today, Cheshire Tipi Co. offers complete event solutions. From tipis and
stretch tents to luxury toilets, dance floors, and generators, they provide everything needed to ensure a seamless event. Their network of trusted partners, including Cheshire Events Co., adds even more flair, with stunning backdrops, balloon displays, bouncy castles, and even bubble houses for that extra special touch.
Charlotte Stebbings leads Cheshire Events Co., specializing in event decor that transforms any space. From soft play setups for children to eyecatching feature walls and balloon arrangements, Charlotte has become a popular choice for clients looking to add unique details to their events.
Together, these companies make event planning a breeze, delivering everything you need for a perfect celebration.
The Business Family Behind the Magic
Behind all this event magic is a close-knit team. John Stebbings runs Function Event Hire, while Liam Rudge manages both Cheshire Tipi Co. and Cheshire Luxury Toilet Hire, ensuring everything runs smoothly. And of course, Charlottebrings the sparkle with her bespoke decor offerings through Cheshire Events Co.
With five full-time team members and 15 regular contractors, Zoe says, “It feels like a little family, and that’s really important to us.”
Luxury Toilets: A Game-Changer
Believe it or not, one of the biggest hits has been their luxury restroom hire. In just seven months, they’ve completed over 40 jobs, and more are lined up for the busy Christmas season. Their success in this area has led them to start manufacturing their own units, with plans to sell them in the future.
Luxury toilets are no longer just a bonus—they’re a must-have for highend outdoor events, and Zoe's team is leading the charge.
Looking to the Future
As they look to the future, the team is already planning to expand their manufacturing capabilities, including custom tents and toilets. Zoe says, “We’ve gone from just tipis to stretch tents, luxury toilets, and now manufacturing. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re excited for what’s next.”
Wrapping It Up
From a single tipi to an all-encompassing event solutions company, Cheshire Tipi Co. and their growing family of businesses are proof that with hard work, innovation, and strong partnerships, you can elevate any event. Whether you're planning an intimate gathering, a large festival, or a corporate affair, Zoe and her team have everything you need to create an unforgettable experience.
So next time you find yourself at an outdoor event marvelling at the stunning setup, know there’s a dream team behind the scenes making it all happen—and they’re just getting started.

CHRISTMAS AT NANTWICH’S FAVOURITE CHILDREN'S STORE
CHILDRENS BOUTIQUE + EVENTS
A TFM EXCLUSIVE: CHRISTMAS MAGIC AT BIZZYBODS
As the festive season begins to sparkle throughout Nantwich, we at TFM took a stroll over to Hospital Street to catch up with Marlee Briscoe, the owner of Bizzybods, and get the low-down on all things Christmas at Nantwich’s favourite children's store. If you haven’t stopped by recently, you’re in for a treat. Bizzybods has transformed into a mini Hamleys right in the heart of town, and we couldn’t wait to find out more about what Marlee has in store this holiday season.
A Wonderland for Little Ones Under 8
Still the go-to spot for top-quality children's clothing and toys for kids under eight, Bizzybods has been completely revamped under Marlee’s expert guidance. The store now offers a wide range of unique and exclusive gifts, so if you're stuck trying to find the perfect present for that child who seems to have everything, fret no more! Marlee and her team have done the hard work for you. The store is now brimming with items from brands like Little Prince and Sister, TryBikes, and Maileg—none of which you’ll find in any other store in Cheshire.
Marlee understands how important it is to give a gift that feels special and is built to last. The products at Bizzybods are hand-picked, made from durable FSC-certified woods, and many are hand-painted to withstand the rigours of imaginative play. "We wanted to focus on toys that can be cherished for years, not just a few weeks," says Marlee. Their robust selection ensures that these toys aren’t just perfect for Christmas morning but are built to become heirlooms passed down to siblings and friends.
Meet Father Christmas – A Grotto Experience Like No Other
One of the highlights of the Christmas season at Bizzybods is their much-loved Father Christmas Grotto. Partnering with the 3rd South West Cheshire Scout Group, Bizzybods is creating a magical experience for little ones who still believe in the big man in red. Each child will receive a personalised gift, and parents are welcome to snap as many pictures as their camera roll can handle.
Best of all? Every penny from the Father Christmas tickets will go directly
to supporting the Scouts' 2025 adventures. "We know how overwhelming some festive events can be for kids, so we’re making sure to offer quieter, low-sensory sessions for children who need a calmer environment," Marlee explains. It’s these thoughtful touches that make Bizzybods stand out.
Sophie W., a local mum, had this to say about last year’s Santa visit: “This was just right for our 3-year-old who is still a bit unsure about Santa. It was a friendly, easy-going environment and we didn’t feel rushed.”
Parent's Late Night Shopping Event
Bizzybods is excited to be part of Nantwich's late-night shopping event—and we know just how tricky it can be to sneak those Christmas gifts into the cart with little eyes watching! That's why Nantwich is hosting a child-free late-night shopping evening on Thursday, 28th November, from 5pm to 9pm.
But it’s not just another shopping trip. Expect free bubbly, live carols from the local brass band in Cocoa Yard, and a chance to browse Bizzybods' gorgeous collection without a little one tugging at your sleeve.
Soak in the festive atmosphere, enjoy the twinkling Christmas lights, and best of all, keep your gifts a secret. Whether you’re hunting for unique presents, planning a magical Santa experience, or just want to shop in peace, Bizzybods is your perfect Christmas destination.
Join us on Hospital Street and get ready to be wowed!

CREATE THE PERFECT FESTIVE DINING TABLE
INTERIOR SPOTLIGHT
HAMPTON HOUSE INTERIORS GUIDE TO CHRISTMAS
As the festive season approaches, there’s an unmistakeable magic in the air—a sense of anticipation that fills our homes with joy and warmth. Here at Hampton House Interiors, we specialise in high-end residential interiors, transforming spaces into reflections of our clients’ unique personalities and lifestyles. As we enter one of our busiest periods of the year, we’re excited to share our insights into recent trends in interior design that can elevate your home this Christmas.
This guide will explore elegant tablescapes that create the perfect festive feel at your dining table, as well as the enchanting scents that can infuse your home with the spirit of the season. Let’s dive into how you can make this Christmas one to remember!
The Art of Tablescapes
The dining table is often the heart of festive gatherings, where friends and family come together to celebrate and create memories. Designing a stunning tablescape is key to setting the tone for your Christmas meals. This year, we’re seeing several trends that will elevate your dining experience.
Embrace Natural Elements
One of the most delightful trends in tablescaping is the incorporation of natural elements. Think fresh greenery, such as eucalyptus or holly, alongside rustic wooden centrepieces. These organic touches not only bring a sense of warmth and comfort but also connect us to the beauty of the season.
Consider creating a centrepiece using a mix of seasonal foliage and flowers. A long runner of greenery can be accented with candles of varying heights, adding both warmth and sophistication to your table. For a more rustic look, incorporate elements like pine cones or branches, which can provide a beautiful contrast against elegant dinnerware.
Colour Palettes That Spark Joy
This season, rich, earthy colour palettes are dominating the design scene. Deep greens, warm reds and rusty burnt oranges are perfect for creating a festive yet sophisticated atmosphere. When planning your tablescape,
consider how these colours can work together to create a harmonious look. Layer your table with a beautiful tablecloth or runner in a rich, festive hue. This will serve as a backdrop for your dinnerware, glassware, and decorative accents. Mixing different textures, such as linen and velvet, adds depth and visual interest.
Personal Touches
Adding personal touches to your tablescape is a wonderful way to make your guests feel special. Consider using personalised place cards or handwritten menus that reflect your family traditions. You can’t go wrong with Granny’s napkin rings or serving your potatoes in the very same dish that was on the table when you were growing up.
At Hampton House Interiors, we believe that every detail matters. Incorporating unique items, like handmade decorations, not only adds character to your table but also tells a story. This festive season, think about how you can create a tablescape that is not only beautiful but also personal to you and whoever you’re sharing the day with.
Setting the Scene with Scent
While visuals play a significant role in festive decor, scent is equally powerful in creating an inviting atmosphere. A well-placed candle on your coffee table can not only provide ambient light but also fill the room with a gentle, inviting scent. The right aromas can evoke memories, stimulate conversation, and enhance the overall mood of your home. Here are some trends to consider when curating scents for your Christmas celebrations.
Seasonal Fragrances
This Christmas, embrace fragrances that reflect the season. Consider using essential oils in diffusers incorporating classic scents like cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg, which can instantly transport you to a festive wonderland.
Candles are another wonderful way to infuse your home with delightful scents. Opt for high-quality, natural candles made with essential oils. Look out for cedar wood, fir, or fresh pine which can create a comforting and nostalgic atmosphere, reminiscent of cold evenings spent cuddled up by the fire and festive gatherings with friends...
Layering Scents
To create a truly immersive experience, consider layering your scents throughout your home. Different rooms call for different scents and whilst we love to incorporate scented candles or diffusers with festive fragrances in living areas, opt for softer scents, like lavender or chamomile, to create a relaxing retreat in bedrooms.
Creating a Festive Atmosphere
The festive season is about more than just decorations and scents; it’s about creating a warm, inviting atmosphere where memories are made with friends and family. For us, it’s the only time of the year our office closes and we spend time away from designing and managing our projects. If like us, you want to make the most of this special time, have a read of our additional tips to enhance the festive spirit in your home:
Lighting Matters — As the days grow shorter, lighting becomes a crucial element in setting the festive mood. Soft, warm lighting can transform any space, creating a cosy and inviting environment. Lamps and candles contribute to a magical atmosphere but don’t forget that a well-placed garland with subtle lighting over your fireplace or framing an archway can elevate a space and provide an ambient glow.
Consider using cordless lamps on your dining and serving tables to create a soft glow during your Christmas meal. This not only enhances the ambiance but also makes for a more intimate setting.
Festive Textiles — Incorporating thicker, textured throws to your beds and living areas can instantly transform your space and add a cosy feel for the dark and cold evenings. Think about adding touches of cashmere or wool if you’re after a more subtle festive vibe than a cushion reading ‘Ho Ho Ho’.
A final Christmas wish from us
As we embrace the festive season, we think it’s worth remembering the importance of creating spaces that bring joy, comfort, and connection to you and your loved ones. Embrace only the trends that resonate with you and let your creativity shine. One of our favourite things about what we create for our clients is the individuality that shines through our designs. Our clients’ personalities and lifestyles are always at the forefront of what we create. We love the idea that you can walk through someone’s front door and instantly get a feel for who they are and what they love. Allow your festive interiors to do the same; trends will come and go but pulling out the same tree decorations that once belonged to your grandparents or your front door being decorated with the wreath that you made with your friends this year is what creates a warm and individual feel to your home. From the Hampton House Interiors studio, we wish you a wonderful festive season filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished moments.
FOOTBALL SPOTLIGHT
WHY ARE PIRATES CALLED PIRATES? WE WENT TO FIND OUT...
Introducing Pirates FC — the Sunday League football team that sails the fields of Cheshire, plundering goals and chasing after those all-important 3 points. But why the name Pirates, you ask? These lads have earned it on and off the pitch. Their battleground? The green fields of Cheshire. Their treasure? Victory. And their beloved watering hole? The Vine Inn in Nantwich, of course.
The Pirate motto sums them up: "A merry life and a short one." Every Sunday, they charge into battle with grit, determination, and — let’s be honest — maybe a slight hangover. No matter the rough seas (or heavy defeats), they sail on with style because that’s just how Pirates roll.
Win, lose, or draw (on the booze responsibly, of course), you’ll find them back at The Vine after the game, pints in hand, swapping stories — more often about their Saturday night escapades than the match itself.
How It All Began
It all started with a parley between Andy "Blackbeard" Truan and Captain Jack Taylor in 2017 after a heavy night involving rum and a spontaneous late-night keyboard session. Tired of the politics at their old team, Talbot FC, they mutinied and formed their own band of misfits. Naturally, the name Nantwich Pirates just felt right.
In 2018, the Pirates officially set sail from the Barony Playing Fields in Nantwich. Like any new crew, they faced a few stormy seasons, but they soon discovered that keeping a Sunday League team afloat took more than just showing up on a Sunday. Respect to all the other teams out there — it’s no small feat to manage facilities, funding, and league regulations.
Treasure and Sponsors
It takes serious loot to run a football team, and Pirates FC has a stellar line-up of sponsors to keep their ship sailing. IGO-LIFE, GMB, Neon Green, and Tek-Lube have all chipped in, ensuring the Pirates have the funds for kits, equipment, and match day costs. And it’s a win-win: the Pirates’ social media game is strong, helping promote their sponsors while getting their name out there.
After a few rocky seasons, Pirates FC hit their stride, winning two successive cup finals and taking home the Division 2 Champions title last year. The crew has grown not just in numbers but in spirit, with the team turning into a family affair. Players like Andy "Blackbeard" Truan, now in his 30th season, have seen it all, including the joy of playing alongside his son, keeping the Pirate legacy alive.
Life as a Pirate
What’s life like as a Pirate? Aside from the weekly training at Reaseheath and Alexandra Soccer Centre, it’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work. Running a club takes a crew of five: Sammy Rogers as the gaffer, Andy as secretary, Michael "The Loot" Truan as treasurer, Rhys "Long Shanks" Wright as the media king, and Michael "Spike" Brown looking after the gear.
Match days are only half the fun. After each game, win or lose, the Pirates head back to The Vine for some well-earned food and drinks, courtesy of Dan and the team. It’s not just football; it’s about community, camaraderie, and keeping the Pirate spirit alive...
What's Next?
Pirates FC is always on the lookout for new recruits and fresh sponsors. Whether you’re a young gun looking to break into adult football, or a veteran with plenty of experience, Pirates FC has a place for you.
You can catch them on match days — 11 a.m. kick-offs at Barony Playing Fields in Nantwich — or follow their adventures online via @NantwichPiratesFC. Their social media is packed with match details, sponsor shout-outs, and plenty of pirate antics.
Final Word: Set Sail!
Pirates FC is more than just a football team — it’s a crew of misfits turned legends, a community of players, supporters, and local businesses coming together for something bigger than football.
So, why are Pirates called Pirates? Because they live by their own rules, embrace the chaos, and always come out stronger — pint in hand.

MULTI AWARD WINNING ENGLISH PUB
PUB SPOTLIGHT
THE NAGS HEAD: NOT YOUR AVERAGE COUNTRYSIDE PUB
Let’s be honest: we all cringe at the term "hidden gem." It’s overused, predictable, and frankly, a bit boring. But that’s the last thing The Nags Head in Haughton is. Just 5.4 miles from Nantwich, this place is no casual dropin spot—you’ve got to put in the effort to get there. And here’s the kicker: that’s exactly what The Nags Head does for you every day. They go the extra mile, making sure your visit is well worth it.
If you’re unfamiliar, The Nags Head isn’t your standard countryside pub. It’s backed by the same team that transformed Altrincham Market into a foodie haven. That market didn’t just raise the bar—it redefined it, setting trends that others can only dream of copying. So, when that level of expertise lands in Haughton, you know something special is brewing.
Imagine this: you’re driving along a picturesque Cheshire country lane, and you arrive at a place that’s much more than just a pub. Yes, it ticks all the usual boxes—great food, brilliant drinks—but what really sets The Nags Head apart is its deep sense of community. And we don’t mean community in the trendy, throwaway sense. It’s real. It’s woven into the very fabric of the place.
The Nags Head supports local businesses and farmers, keeping things authentic by sourcing fresh produce—so local, in fact, that someone literally has to go and collect it. Collaborating with top suppliers like Snugbury’s, they create bespoke dishes that reflect the region. Locals even drop by with bags of fresh fruit, veg, and eggs, all of which go straight from farm to table.
Stepping into The Nags Head feels like walking into a quintessential English pub, the kind you see in holiday films. Think The Holiday with Kate Winslet and Jude Law—rustic charm, cosy vibes, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home.
Now, let’s talk about the food. It’s not just good—it’s outstanding. The menu has something for everyone, but the Sunday roasts are the real show stoppers. These roasts are so good, they could challenge even the most stubborn "Dad’s the roast king" household. Picture melt-in-your-mouth meats, indulgent sides, and all the trimmings. It’s the kind of next-level comfort food that’s bound to become a family favourite.
A few roast highlights: the Cauliflower Cheese, made with the delicious Drunken Burt cheese from Knutsford’s Claire Burt; and a potato dish that rivals any Dauphinoise, crafted with Peckforton Dairy Cream. These are just a few of the many local delights you’ll find on the menu this season.
Beyond the incredible food, The Nags Head is all about sustainability and the 'field to fork' movement. By sourcing locally, they reduce their carbon footprint—less packaging, less transportation, and less processing means fresher, better-tasting food that supports the local economy. It’s about more than just a great meal; it’s about making meaningful connections— with your food, the people who produce it, and the community around you.
The Nags Head is open Wednesday to Sunday, starting at noon on weekdays and from 9 a.m. on weekends for the breakfast crowd. There’s plenty of parking, making it as easy to visit as it is rewarding.
Find them at: Long Lane, Haughton, Moss, Cheshire, CW6 9RN. So yes, it may take a bit of effort to get there, but trust us—once you’ve made the trip, you’ll be wondering why you didn’t do it sooner. The Nags Head is absolutely worth every extra mile.

In the heart of Nantwich, there’s a family-run business that has been quietly transforming homes, one stunning room at a time. For four years, Griggs Boutique Interiors (GBI) has been a cornerstone of quality, craftsmanship, and innovation in home design. Whether it’s a bespoke kitchen, a luxurious bathroom, or a complete home transformation, GBI provides their clients with something special.
A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Passion
The story of GBI started long before the showroom on Hospital Street opened its doors. Danny Griggs, the founder, grew up in the world of home renovations, working alongside his father on small projects and learning the value of hard work, attention to detail, and integrity. These early experiences laid the foundation for what would later become Griggs Boutique Interiors.
"Design has always been the heart of what we do," says Danny. "We’ve always taken pride in creating spaces that people fall in love with. It’s more than just providing a service; it’s about building a relationship with our clients and working together to bring their vision to life."
What Sets GBI Apart
Over the past four years, GBI has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, designed interiors with a personal touch. As a family-run business, Danny, along with his wife Pauline and their daughters, have worked closely with every client — creating bespoke designs that reflect individual personalities, tastes, and lifestyles.
"We treat every project as if it were our own home," Danny explains. "Attention to detail is crucial, and while not everything always runs smoothly in life or design, we ensure that we put everything into every project — from the very first consultation to the final clean-down and handover day."
What really sets GBI apart is their dedication to both style and functionality. Their design process isn’t just about creating something beautiful; it’s about making sure that each room serves its purpose and enhances the homeowner’s everyday life. From the choice of materials to the flow of the space, every detail is carefully considered to provide the ultimate design solution.
STEP INTO THE FUTURE WITH GRIGGS BOUTIQUE INTERIORS!
Thank You to Our Community
As GBI marks its fourth anniversary, Danny and his team are taking a moment to reflect on their journey and express their heartfelt thanks to the community that has supported them.
"We wouldn’t be here without our customers," says Danny. "From day one, we’ve been fortunate to work with some incredible people. Nantwich has been our home, and we’re so grateful for the trust and support we’ve received from our clients. We’ve built something special here, and it’s all thanks to the community that believed in us."
Looking Ahead: The Future of GBI
But this is just the beginning for Griggs Boutique Interiors. With an eye firmly on the future, GBI is planning exciting new ventures in both design and service.

With the festive season upon us, we thought we would ask our friends at Cheshire Gentleman for some ideas, over you guys.
First off: Create yourself a festive cocktail to entertain friends, family, or just to cosy up with while watching your favourite Christmas movie. My favourites are The Holiday with Die Hard a close second, and, yes, Die Hard is a Christmas movie!
You could naturally go for a Mulled Wine option, it smells delicious, however I find, after the first mouthful I want to abandon it for something nicer. These are my 3 go to options.

Make This Christmas Extra Special and Unforgettable
To make this Christmas unforgettable, it’s all about embracing the little things that bring joy.
Here are a few ideas to make your Christmas extra magical:
1. Personalised Advent Calendar
Instead of buying a chocolate-filled calendar, create your own by filling each day with handwritten notes, small gifts, or festive activities for your family. It's a lovely way to spread excitement throughout December.
2. Christmas Eve Traditions
Start a Christmas Eve box tradition, filled with cosy pyjamas, a festive movie, hot chocolate sachets, and a book. It’s a wonderful way to wind down and get ready for the big day.
3. Handwritten Cards
In an age of digital messages, sending handwritten Christmas cards is a thoughtful gesture. Write personal messages to your friends and family, reflecting on the past year and sharing your hopes for the next.
4. Festive Playlist
Music is the heartbeat of Christmas, so curate your own playlist of favourite carols and festive songs. Whether it’s playing softly in the background during dinner or during a full-on kitchen dance party, the right soundtrack can lift everyone’s spirits.
5. Thoughtful Gifts
This year, focus on thoughtful and meaningful gifts. Whether it’s something homemade, a beautifully wrapped book, or an experience you can share together, meaningful gifts resonate far more than expensive ones.
6. Christmas Games Night
Gather your family or friends for a festive games night. From charades to Christmas quizzes, it’s a great way to keep everyone entertained and laughing together.
The festive season, to me, is about treating yourself. Indulging in some calorific delights and settling down in a warm cosy home. Sipping something tasty and reflecting on all the good things that have happened during this year and what adventures can be had in the upcoming year. Merry Christmas folks.

THE STORY BEHIND MEN WALKING AND TALKING
As our readers know, we don’t do conventional. When everyone else goes left, we go right. We shine a spotlight on the trailblazers, the changemakers, the people who refuse to settle. So, when we came across Dave Carter’s story on social media, we knew we had to reach out—and thankfully, he said yes.
Dave’s story is about more than just letting life happen to him. It’s about rewriting the narrative and taking control, making real changes, and inspiring others along the way. After an injury cut his promising military career short, Dave found himself navigating a string of jobs, eventually landing a role at Bentley Motors. While it provided stability, something was missing. The spark that once fuelled him had dimmed. When redundancy hit in 2023, Dave made a choice that not many would: he turned his attention inward, pursuing personal training and strength coaching, with a clear goal in mind—to help others discover their best selves.
Dave’s journey is all too relatable. Many men find themselves driven by family, burdened by financial stress, and trying to find meaning in a world that moves too fast. Instead of just accepting that “that’s life,” Dave reached out for support. He joined a men’s walking and talking group, and it made all the difference. The simple act of walking and talking with others gave him clarity, strength, and resilience.
Men Walking and Talking began in 2021, started by Dan Reid in Telford with just one attendee on the first walk. It has now blossomed into 23 walks across 14 counties, offering a safe, welcoming space where men can connect, share their experiences, and support each other. In 2022, Men Walking and Talking became a Community Interest Corporation (CIC), and in 2023, they gained membership with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). This simple yet powerful concept is helping to break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.
“This is for every man,” Dave says, and after hearing his story, we couldn’t agree more. Sometimes, all it takes is a walk, a talk, and the right people around you to change your life’s direction.
In a world that often demands more from us than we can give, Dave Carter and Men Walking and Talking are ensuring men aren’t left behind. They’re showing us that community, conversation, and support can make all the difference. Like Dave, we’re not here to settle for less.
They say, “that’s just life”—but Dave’s not having that, and neither are we.
A Word from Dan Reid, Founder of Men Walking and Talking:
"My name is Dan Reid, and I founded Men Walking and Talking in mid-2021. After years of battling anxiety and depression, I finally sought help and began therapy. It wasn’t easy, but through months of working on myself, I started to regain my self-esteem and self-worth. I reached out to a life coach, and with their help, I continued to grow.
This personal journey gave me the courage to open up about my mental health struggles to other men, and from that vulnerability, Men Walking and Talking was born. My goal was simple: to create a safe space for men to share, connect, and support each other. Now, we’ve grown into a movement that’s making real change, one step at a time.
YXRK ISN’T JUST ABOUT FASHION — IT’S ABOUT WEARING YOUR JOURNEY ON YOUR SLEEVE
FASHION SPOTLIGHT
THE CHESHIRE NATIVE REDEFINING INDIE FASHION
There’s something electric about the rise of indie fashion, especially in an era when mainstream trends dominate our feeds. Yet, amidst the flood of fast fashion giants, a handful of indie brands are breaking through the noise, capturing the attention of style enthusiasts worldwide. Enter Matt York, a 27-year-old entrepreneur from Cheshire whose brand, YXRK, has sky-rocketed from a local streetwear label to an international phenomenon — all in just a few years. We headed over to catch up with Matt hear the story behind YXRK, its ethos, and what makes it stand out in a world over saturated with trends.
YXRK: More Than Just a Brand
Let's cut straight to it — YXRK isn’t just a cool brand name. Sure, it’s a cheeky play on his surname (York), but it’s the deeper meaning behind it that sets it apart. YXRK stands for “Why Ex’s Are OK” — a bold mantra rooted in acceptance, growth, and resilience. "We all have moments in life that shape who we are," Matt explains. "Starting YXRK was about embracing my journey. It’s not just a brand; it’s a way to inspire people to move forward without letting the past define them." In other words, YXRK isn’t just about fashion — it’s about wearing your journey on your sleeve, literally.
From Sketches to a Global Movement
Flashback to 2019: Matt York, working full-time as a bar manager, spends his late nights sketching designs that fuse minimalist aesthetics with powerful, unfiltered messages. He saw a gap in the market, a lack of streetwear brands that didn’t just focus on appearance but also spoke to people's experiences and future ambitions. YXRK was born to fill that void, marrying modern streetwear with raw, personal storytelling.
Then, the pandemic hit. While most fledgling businesses struggled to stay afloat, Matt’s vision thrived. In early 2020, he launched YXRK with just a handful of designs, and social media did the rest. “Launching during the pandemic was wild, but it also gave me the chance to really connect with people. They weren’t just buying clothes, they were buying into something bigger,” Matt says. And he was right — people wanted more than just another hoodie. They wanted to feel something. YXRK delivered.
Matt didn’t just stop at releasing new designs. He let his customers become part of the process, offering customisable pieces, from tie-dye patterns to specific prints — allowing them to put their personal twist on YXRK's vibe.
Indie Fashion with a Global Reach
Fast forward to now, and YXRK has fans across continents. What started as a side hustle has grown into a global indie label, with customers from the UK to the US, all drawn to Matt’s fearless approach to style and authenticity. "From Cheshire to the world," he grins, "My goal was always to create something real. And now that I’ve built this foundation, I want to grow even more." He’s got his sights set on big dreams, think pop-up stores, collaborations with artists, and even branching into footwear.
But Matt’s not just gunning for your typical fashion milestones. He wants YXRK to evolve as the people wearing it evolve. It’s not just about the clothes, it’s about the message behind them: empowerment, identity, acceptance.
The AW24 Collection Launch: A Roaring Success
On October 5th, Matt hosted his first-ever YXRK event in Leeds to showcase his new AW24 collection. Think indie fashion show meets underground rave. Friends, family, and customers from across the UK flocked to the event to support YXRK's latest drop. The night wasn’t just a launch, it was a celebration of how far YXRK had come and a sneak peek at where it’s headed next.
What’s Next for YXRK?
Matt's vision for YXRK is only getting bigger. Limited-edition collections are on the horizon, along with exclusive events and a move into new product lines. And he’s got his eye on the big leagues Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Flannels the type of stores where he hopes YXRK will one day make its home. But no matter how high YXRK soars, it’s clear that Matt’s feet are still firmly planted in the grassroots movement that made his brand a success. "I want YXRK to be a brand that evolves with people,” he says. “It’s more than just clothing it’s about identity, empowerment, and acceptance."
So, if you’re on the lookout for a brand that’s truly about something, not just trying to sell you the next trend, check out YXRK. It’s more than just indie fashion it’s a movement. And trust us, you’ll want to be part of it.

PROVIDING SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS FOR ALL APPLE PRODUCTS
SUSTAINABLE TECH SPOTLIGHT
MAC GROUP SOLUTIONS: LEADING THE CHARGE IN SUSTAINABLE TECH
At TFM, we’re always on the lookout for smart, sustainable solutions that help us do things better while challenging the status quo.
When it comes to tech, one company that's caught our attention is Mac Group Solutions. Founded by entrepreneur Stephen Smith in Nantwich, Mac Group is a game-changer in the world of refurbished Apple products. They’re not just reducing e-waste—they’re proving that buying refurbished tech is a win-win for both the planet and your wallet.
Why Buying Refurbished Tech Matters
It’s no secret that electronic waste (e-waste) is a growing problem. The UK alone is one of the largest contributors to e-waste globally, and yet, in Europe, sales of refurbished tech are already outpacing new products. It’s clear that our continent is ahead of the game when it comes to sustainable tech choices, and companies like Mac Group Solutions are leading the charge. Here’s why buying refurbished technology makes a real difference:
Reduces e-waste — By giving pre-owned devices a second life, fewer gadgets end up in landfills, reducing harmful waste.
Conserves resources — Manufacturing new devices uses finite resources like water and energy. Buying refurbished conserves these essential resources.
Lowers carbon footprint — Producing and shipping new tech leaves a significant carbon footprint. Refurbished tech skips the production cycle, making it an eco-friendlier option.
Mitigates environmental risks — E-waste contains hazardous materials like lead, mercury, and cadmium, which can leach into the environment. Extending the life of devices reduces the need for improper disposal of these dangerous materials.
Keeps devices in the game — Refurbished tech is often just a generation or two old, still boasting high performance and modern features at a fraction of the cost.

At MGS, they’re not just about selling refurbished Apple products—they’re about creating a sustainable tech ecosystem. Whether you’re a business or a consumer, they have the tools and services to help you get high-quality, ‘like-new’ tech while making environmentally responsible choices.
Stephen and his team refurbish anything with an Apple logo to an incredibly high standard. Whether it’s MacBook Airs, iMacs, iPads, or AirPods, they ensure every product is up to spec with original parts, providing top-tier performance at a much lower price point.
And it doesn’t stop there. They offer a B2B (business-to-business) service that works with schools, universities, and corporations to upgrade their tech while offsetting the costs through their trade-in program. Their IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) services ensure that any old tech is either refurbished or securely recycled, meeting ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) guidelines.

"YOU DON’T HAVE TO FACE IT ALONE"
MENTAL HEALTH SPOTLIGHT
MENTAL HEALTH AND SUPPORT: WHY IT MATTERS MORE THAN EVER
At TFM, we believe mental health is just as crucial as physical well-being, and it’s more important than ever to shed light on this essential topic. Whether it’s through community initiatives, professional support, or simply having open conversations, supporting mental health is key to a happier, more balanced life. This is especially true during the festive season, a time that, while joyful for many, can bring challenges like financial strain, loneliness, and the pressure to be merry.
In Cheshire East, Stable Minds CIC is working tirelessly to offer the support many need during such times. Led by founder Amelia Peel, the organisation is dedicated to providing mental health support to children, young people, and adults. We recently caught up with Amelia to talk about the important work her team is doing, especially as we enter the festive season.
Amelia Peel: Founder of Stable Minds CIC
Amelia’s journey in mental health began during the pandemic when she launched community projects like My Umbrella Me and PTSD on the Moor Park in Knutsford. These initiatives led to the creation of Stable Minds CIC, a notfor-profit organisation offering mental health services across Cheshire East. With a background as a psychotherapist and as the Head Psychotherapist at Altrincham FC, Amelia now leads a team of 14 dedicated professionals working to create safe, supportive environments for those in need.
Navigating Mental Health During the Festive Season
While the festive season is often portrayed as joyful, it can be overwhelming for many. “The holidays can amplify existing stressors—whether it’s financial pressure, strained family relationships, or reminders of loss,” says Amelia. “It’s a time when expectations feel sky-high, leaving people anxious or isolated.”
Stable Minds offers a simple yet powerful message: you don’t have to face it alone. Their team provides tailored therapies to meet the individual needs of everyone who reaches out.
Practical Advice for Holiday Stress
Amelia stresses the importance of self-compassion during the holidays. “It’s easy to get caught up in creating the ‘perfect’ holiday, but it’s crucial to focus on what you need for your well-being. Whether it’s a quiet walk or simply stepping away from social obligations, self-care is essential.”
She also recommends setting realistic expectations: “You don’t have to attend every event or find the perfect gift. Sometimes, saying ‘no’ is the best thing you can do for your mental health.”
Mindfulness and Finding Peace
Amelia advocates for mindfulness as a helpful tool for navigating holiday stress. “Staying present can help break the cycle of stress. Whether it’s enjoying a hot drink or taking in the beauty of festive lights, grounding yourself in the moment can bring a sense of calm.”
For those feeling isolated, Amelia encourages seeking support—from friends, community groups, or professionals. “Therapy provides a non-judgemental space to explore your feelings. Just sharing what you’re going through can provide immense relief.”
The Gift of Support
At Stable Minds, the festive season is an opportunity to remind people that reaching out for help is not only okay, but encouraged. “Mental health doesn’t take a holiday,” Amelia notes. “If you’re struggling, we’re here for you.”
As we head into the new year, Amelia offers a final reminder: “You don’t have to meet every expectation or have everything figured out by New Year’s Eve. Take care of yourself and move through this season at your own pace.”
