Annie Moore, Founder
Q&A
with Hampton House Interiors founder, Annie Moore.
‘Annie Moore, Founder of Cheshire based Interior design studio, Hampton House Interiors gives us an insight into what it’s liketoworkintheindustryandrunasmall designstudiointheheartofCheshire.’
Annie started Hampton House Interiors last year, off the back of years of experience and an obsession with interiors and helping people to fall in love with their homes. She has quickly gained brand awareness with clients and other companies alike and is forging exciting partnerships with some of Cheshire’s finest companies, their latest being with Cheshire Lamont estate agency.
Annie’s client testimonials speak for themselves and it’s clear to see that she gets to know her clients on a personal level. Annie states ‘our mission is to create harmonious environments that
reflect the unique personalities and lifestyles of our client. To make this possible, we have to understand our clients and their families and take the time to learn what they need most from a space. We strive to create timeless interiors that are not only sympathetic to the property and its period but that can be enjoyed for years to come.’
From what we can see on their growing social media pages, Hampton House interiors favours an elegant design style. Their projects, whilst incorporating plenty of colour and eclectic pattern feel sophisticated, considered and most importantly, usable. Annie says ‘I
love working with a variety of colours, textures and pattern, it’s such an interesting way of adding personality and character to a space. I think the days of white walls and ‘50 shades of beige’ are over and people are leaning into colour a little more, which is music to our ears!’
Annie is incredibly passionate about not just the running of her company, but the industry as a whole. ‘I think it’s important to stay up to date with things within the industry, but in all honesty that comes relatively easily these days; an hour or 2 of trawling Instagram in the evening will have you up to date on almost everything! This does of course mean that I never totally switch off. I think as most people who run small companies will tell you, there is no ‘off’ switch, I live and breathe Hampton House Interiors and celebrate every small win. Somebody once told me when setting up HHI, that I would ‘never again use an out of office email setting’, which I think perfectly surmises running a small company. Nothing has proved to be truer; my ‘out of office’ has never been used but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love my job and feel grateful every day for the people I meet and clients I work with. Setting up Hampton House Interiors and having such a successful first year is my biggest achievement and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the company.’
What do you advise doing before starting a project?
- Plan, plan, plan! – Get a pen to paper and start a mood board before you go shopping. Buying a sofa because it’s on sale (that’s not the right size or colour) can end up dictating an entire room that you will eventually end up changing again.
- Decide on the function of your room and how you plan to use it; rooms that ‘can’ be used for lots of different things, often get used for none. Ask yourself key questions such as: How many people do we need to be able to seat? Who is going to use this room; an important consideration when it comes to picking flooring and fabrics where children and pets are involved!
- Create a floor plan – this can be as simple as a sketch on a piece of paper or using newspaper laid on the floor to mark out where you want furniture and the ideal dimensions for each piece. Spacing between your furniture is vitally important to ensure that pieces are usable whilst also making sure you can pass freely through the room. For example, as a general rule of thumb, we want around 40cm between a central footstool/coffee table and your sofas/armchairs.
What
in a room is sat beneath the windows. I personally like to sit a blind outside of the window reveal, nice and high where possible, to avoid losing any light and the addition of a pelmet can help to make roman blinds feel more formal and hide the mechanism beautifully.
of?
is something you know to be an amazing design choice, but most people are scared
Colour drenching! This is when we paint everything in the room the same colour – including the ceiling and woodwork. I get it, it’s scary, especially when using a darker shade but this is a technique that creates wonderful impact and an incredible sense of height and calm within a room. It’s generally quite a contemporary finish, so I would stay away from it in period homes, but we love it in smaller areas of the house like cloakrooms or fun spaces such as cinema or games rooms.
What is something you find fascinating in your job?
The science and psychology of colour! I could bore you to death about how interesting I find colour and what it does to our brains. One of the
reasons I find it such a shame to paint walls a stark white is because of the immense impact the colour in a room can have on people. Let’s take red for example, red is a colour that brings strong emotion and feeling, it evokes conversation but is an ‘uncomfortable’ colour, meaning you don’t always want to be sat in a room that’s painted red for long periods of time. It’s therefore a great option for dining rooms but less so for bedrooms or offices which are going to be used all day. Blue on the other hand is a calmer colour and is associated with cleanliness and rest. Furthermore, Dark blue is the number one colour for concentration, so an amazing choice for home offices!
Do you prefer blinds or curtains?
I couldn’t possibly choose! Both have their place. If I had to get rid of something in the window treatment world, it would be half length/sill height curtains…let’s not go there. Curtains frame a window beautifully and can add formality and interest to a room. Blinds on the other hand, are generally a more cost-effective option, as less fabric is required, and they are a great choice if the furniture
When working with a small budget, where would you advise spending?
It depends on the scale of the project. For example, where structural or building work is required, I would always suggest instructing high quality tradesmen. These are the people that can make or break a project and one of the things I’m proudest of at HHI is having built up a reputable group of trades and craftsmen that we work with on a daily basis. If the project is smaller, I would always advise spending on good quality window treatments and upholstery. These elements are huge parts of the room and by ensuring you choose good quality pieces, they will last for years to come.
NAVIGATING THE HOUSING MARKET WITH CHESHIRE LAMONT
The housing market can be a labyrinth of complexities, making expert knowledge invaluable. That’s why we turned our spotlight on Cheshire Lamont and had a chat with David Cheshire to uncover more about the current landscape.
Resilience in Cheshire’s Market Towns
National and regional differences in house prices are inevitable, yet Cheshire’s villages and market towns have shown remarkable resilience throughout a challenging and uncertain 2024. This resilience is partly due to the unique charm and appeal of this special part of the country.
Stability in Interest Rates
Interest rates have held steady at 5.25% for the past 12 months, bringing much-needed stability and rejuvenating confidence in the market. Coupled with a reduction in inflation, which is now nearing the Bank of England’s target of 2%, these factors have bolstered the housing sector.
Strong Demand and Realistic Pricing
Since the beginning of the year, demand for property within Cheshire has remained strong and continues to pick up. David Cheshire emphasizes the importance of setting appropriate and realistic asking prices from the outset. Such pricing stimulates a positive early response, often attracting the strongest interest and best offers within the initial period.
Looking Ahead
As we move through the rest of 2024, there seems to be no significant changes on the horizon for the market. With continued stability and strong demand, Cheshire’s housing market is set to maintain its resilience.
Expert Guidance
For those navigating the intricacies of buying or selling property in Cheshire, the expert guidance from Cheshire Lamont is crucial. Their local knowledge and market insight ensure that clients make informed decisions, turning the complexities of the housing market into seamless transactions.
At Cheshire Lamont, they’re not just selling houses; they’re helping people find homes.

INDEPENDENT, FAMILY-RUN GARDEN CENTRE CAPTURES MANY HEARTS
GARDEN SPOTLIGHT
DISCOVERING MINSHULL’S GARDEN CENTRE: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE
Don’t just brush past this thinking you know Minshull’s Garden Centre inside out. Trust us, there’s so much more than meets the eye. We spent a gorgeous sunny morning uncovering all the hidden treasures this independent, family-run business has to offer, and we can’t wait to share our finds with you.
A Nostalgic Beginning
Flashback to 1990 – a time of bum bags, Tamagotchis, Nintendo 64s, and mood rings. Feeling nostalgic yet? That’s the year John and Mary Minshull purchased the land that would become Minshull’s Garden Centre. What started as a small plant nursery to complement their many market stalls soon blossomed into a full-fledged garden centre thanks to years of hard work and dedication.
The Heart of the Family
The Minshull family has always been at the heart of the business. John and Mary’s children transitioned from weekend jobs to integral roles within the company. With further developments, including the addition of a farm shop and butchers counter, a coffee shop/restaurant, the garden centre expanded its offerings. In 2019, John and Mary retired, passing the reins to their grown-up children, Karl, Steven, Laura, and Karl’s wife, Charlotte. Recently, Steven’s wife, Emily, joined the team.
It’s Personal
With a team of over 50 dedicated members keeping this place running like a well-oiled machine, Minshull's Garden Centre is open 7 days a week and offers free parking – it’s no wonder it’s always buzzing with activity. As we sat enjoying our "COT" – cheese on toast that was absolutely unreal –we overheard Steve chatting with a regular about music and drums. The team managed café orders effortlessly, remembering names, chatting with regulars, and accommodating new customers with a cheerful “of course, no problem.” Laughter and smiles filled the air, creating an infectious atmosphere that had us grinning from ear to ear.
In a world where personal touch is often lost in the hustle and bustle, Minshull's bucks the trend. Their approach proves that quality and service will always be in fashion, on trend, and undeniably cool.
Quality at Its Best
Minshull’s stays true to their roots, offering an impressive range of products. They champion a load of local talent that you will be more than familiar with – Chatwins bread is used in the café and sold in the farm shop, Mornflake cereal occupies a full rack of shelves, then there are the local dairy products, meat, vegetables, and an impressive range of garden furniture and water features that would be hard to compete with. Their commitment to quality is evident in every corner of the centre. Innovation is seen throughout, with new ranges, trying different types of food products, and being proactive as a business is what will always set them apart.
Looking Ahead
The future is bright for Minshull’s Garden Centre and the family are ambitious to keep on coming up with new ways to draw in the crowds. With exciting plans like “Zoo 2 U,” visiting throughout the summer with a popup mini zoo, seasonal events such as Christmas trees and decorations, and delectable dinners, they continue to maintain high standards, deliver on promises, and uphold the family tradition.
TFM Recommends
We’ve tried most things on the menu, and trust us, the specials are great. A cooked breakfast is a must-try, but then again, COT, and all the other delicious food have had nothing but glowing reports from all the happy customers we spoke to.
10/10 Minshull’s, thanks for showing us around – we will be back very soon!

THE GREEN ROOM NANTWICH: YOUR NEW FAVOURITE CAFÉ
Tucked away in Princes Court, just behind Sainsbury’s in Nantwich, lies a place creating quite the buzz.
This new café has quickly become a favourite among our team and other local businesses, so naturally, we had to shout about it. Let’s dive in…
Meet the Visionary: Sophie Jackson
The Green Room is the brainchild of Sophie Jackson, whose passion for cooking and baking began in her youth. “I’ve always worked in hospitality and loved the fast-paced environment and buzz from it,” Sophie says. Her culinary journey truly took off during her university years, leading her to experiment more in the kitchen. This passion grew into a successful food Instagram page, @sjs.scran, which she particularly focused on during lockdown, gaining a significant following.
The Birth of a Dream
Sophie’s transition from corporate jobs to opening her own café is a story of passion over profit. Feeling unfulfilled in the corporate world, she seized the opportunity to pursue her culinary dreams. The Green Room’s ethos centres on offering healthier options with an ever-changing menu, ensuring no two visits are the same. A major focus of the café is on gut health, a topic Sophie has researched extensively over the past year. “I aim to raise awareness about the importance of food choices for gut health, which significantly impacts overall well-being,” she explains.
A Unique Experience
The Green Room’s charm lies in its quirky, stylish ambiance that wouldn’t feel out of place in Altrincham Market. The café’s inviting atmosphere, combined with Sophie’s passion for healthy, innovative cuisine, makes it a stand-out destination in Nantwich.
Looking Ahead
The future looks bright for The Green Room. Sophie has exciting plans, including hosting evening supper clubs centred around specific cuisines. “We have some exciting ideas in the works, so keep an eye on our social media for updates!” she teases.

NANTWICH CANDLE COMPANY: LIGHTING THE WAY TO WELL-BEING
We’ve had our eye on Nantwich Candle Company for some time now, and for good reason. Their beautifully crafted candles have graced our homes as gifts on several occasions, and each time, they’ve left us more intrigued. It was high time we delved deeper into the story behind these captivating candles and the inspiring woman who creates them.
Meet Janet: The Founder
Past: From High Pressure to Hand-Poured Happiness
Janet, the visionary behind Nantwich Candle Company, started her candlemaking journey in 2020. At the time, she was juggling a high-pressure job, with her workload increasing significantly during the lockdown. Coupled with the onset of menopause, Janet found herself grappling with anxiety, stress, and mood swings. To cope with these challenges, she turned to candle making as a way to de-stress. “I found the process cathartic, and the fragrances helped to balance my moods,” Janet recalls. What began as a personal hobby soon piqued the interest of friends and family, who started requesting her handmade candles. And just like that, a business was born.
Present: Hand-Poured Perfection
Today, Nantwich Candle Company offers an array of candles in various sizes, containers, and scents. Each product is meticulously hand-poured in small batches using natural soy wax, which ensures a cleaner burn. But Janet’s creativity doesn’t stop at candles; she also crafts wax melts, reed diffusers, and recently added ceramic coasters and trays to complement her candle collection.
Janet’s commitment to sustainability is evident in her choice of environmentally friendly and biodegradable packaging. This year marked a significant milestone as she transitioned to working full-time on her business. Janet recently moved into new premises at Princes Court, Nantwich, and her products are now available in several retail outlets across towns like Nantwich, Whitchurch, Tarvin, and Wrenbury. You can also find her creations online at nantwichcandleco.co.uk and at local artisan markets.
CRAFTED CANDLES, DIFFUSERS & WAX MELTS
Future: Glowing Ambitions
Looking ahead, Janet has big plans for Nantwich Candle Company. She aims to expand her online business to include more home décor products and hopes to open a retail area at her current premises. This new space will allow customers to sample her range and have a closer connection with her clientele.
Janet’s ultimate goal is for her candles to help others relax and evoke happy memories through their scents. She also aspires to inspire others to promote a healthy self-care routine, encouraging a better work-life balance.
Why We Love Nantwich Candle Company
Janet’s journey from high-pressure career to full-time candle maker is nothing short of inspiring. Her dedication to quality, sustainability, and customer connection makes Nantwich Candle Company a stand-out in the artisan market. If you’re looking for a way to unwind and bring a little bit of joy and tranquillity into your home, look no further than Nantwich Candle Company.
Check out their full range at nantwichcandleco.co.uk, and be sure to visit their new premises at Princes Court, Nantwich. Trust us, your senses will thank you.

Nantwich: A Culinary Haven for Formal, Informal, and Casual Dining
Nantwich is becoming a hotspot for foodies, with the Nantwich Food Festival peaking over the horizon, more people from out of the area are drawn into our wonderful and mouthwatering market town.
Within our heritage buildings and cobbled streets there can be found marvellous venues to discover some delicious delights. Whether you are seeking formal dining to celebrate a milestone event, a family gathering or an impromptu friendship feast, Nantwich has something for everything.
CROWN HOTEL
Formal dining events the go to place would be The Crown Hotel, Bar & Grill, this is found in the huge Tudor clad building on the corner of the High Street and Crown Mews. The restaurant serves traditional food within a stylish dining room, with comfortable raised booths, buttoned leather chairs and gentleman lodge feel. For an intimate evening you couldn’t go wrong. The food offering is perfect for those who enjoy a hearty and meaty meal, their specialisms come from the Grill where all their produce is from local suppliers, there are lighter offerings that change with the seasons. However you will always come away feeling relaxed and satisfied.
THE BLACK LION
Casual dining, if you enjoy sitting back with a pint with friends, The Black Lion, celebrated venue in the Real Ale Good Beer Guide, should be on your go to list, the oldest pub in Nantwich, located on Welsh Row, offers great food fayre for the Sunday lunch crowd, however they also have a curated wine offering that pared with their seasonal grazing menu that is more than deep fried beige, much of their menu is locally sourced and the owner, Darren Snell, has a background in exclusive hotels having been a Chef for the Dorchester Hotel. So, everything has a meticulous attention to details. The venue itself has a walled court yard garden and inside two floors with an enormous real fireplace, dark wooden floors and low slung beams. This makes intimate winter drinks even more snug and cosy. If you are looking for a friendly venue at the weekend, you can’t go wrong here. We’ve gone in for afternoon drinks and stayed for dinner, your are made to feel like it’s a home from home.
ST MARTHA
Informal dining, my must go to venue is St Martha, on Hospital Street, but I’d recommend booking in advance, as tables are snapped up super quickly. St Martha’s is a splendid independent restaurant, owned by Cheshire local, Kelly Woodnutt and her Greek Chef partner Vasileios Kourtidis, together they have made this modest space a magnificent Greek Taverner and even created a small covered courtyard at the rear, White walls and blue chairs with little tables make a superb backdrop to a range of authentic Greek small plate food, you can have a taste of Greece with every mouthwatering bite. If you are particularly ravenous and want an introduction to what they can create, try the sharing menu, great for casual date. They have vegan options that even a meat eater would enjoy. However, my one recommendation would be their smoked sausage, it’s made locally at Cheerbrooks to their specific recipe, and then smoked on the premises, this is always my go to dish to have, and is accompanies with a honey Dijon mustard. Hmmm, it make me want a sausage real bad, from just writing this!
Where else would you suggest? Please drop me a message with your recommendations, and I will write a review in the next FeedMag issue. Jonathan can be reached at @CheshireGentleman on all social media platforms. Cheshire Gentlemen carry out wine tasting event throughout the year. The diary of events can be located on his website www.CheshireGentlemen.co.uk

OWL FARM: TRADITION MEETS INNOVATION IN SHAVINGTON
When our team got the invite to Owl Farm, we were thrilled. Bacon butties? We were on our way. Nestled in Shavington, Owl Farm embodies passion and dedication. Founded by Mark, an engineer, and Katie, who worked in hair transplants on Harley Street in London, Owl Farm moved to its current location in 2019. What began as a passion project has blossomed into a thriving farm championing heritage breeds and sustainable practices.
A Haven for Heritage Breeds
Walking through the fields, Mark explained their approach with Hebridean sheep. "These sheep thrive off the land," he said. Their philosophy of minimal intervention and natural living is central to Owl Farm. Each weekend, visitors can see the harmony between the animals and their environment.
Beyond Organic: A Commitment to Quality
Owl Farm goes "beyond organic." Mark shared, "We ensure our animals live freely outside, focusing on heritage breeds for exceptional meat quality." This dedication to traditional methods and high welfare standards sets Owl Farm apart from today’s market, often driven by cheaper alternatives.
A Range of Authentic Products
Owl Farm’s products celebrate traditional British fare:
Pies: From hearty pork pies to rich chicken pies. Sausage Rolls: Perfectly seasoned and flaky. Picnic Pies: Great for outdoor feasts. Eggs and New Potatoes: Fresh from the farm. Scotch Pies: A Scottish delicacy. Meat: Featuring heritage breeds at risk of disappearing.
Mark stressed the need to preserve these breeds, highlighting, "We are losing them due to low consumption. Supporting farms like ours is crucial."
Field to Fork: Traditional Methods in Modern Times
Owl Farm uses old-fashioned methods, emphasising sustainability and quality. Laura showed us the Kune Kune pigs. "Working with them is rewarding. We’ve saved pigs that now go to happy homes as pets." The farm also houses large black pigs, Oxford Sandy and Blacks, Hubbard chickens, and Bronze turkeys, using the Label Rouge method for highquality, free-range products.

NANTWICH FOOD FESTIVAL 2024
CELEBRATING FOOD & DRINK THE NANTWICH WAY
Food and drink: we can’t live without them, so why not celebrate them in true Nantwich style?
The UK’s summer food festival scene has come a long way. Not long ago, it was all about quaint gatherings spotlighting single ingredients like oysters or garlic or championing local producers. These modest events, often set in picturesque locations, have evolved into what we now call “boutique” festivals, with a hyper-local focus on produce.
On the flip side, we have the “bumper-pack” festivals, the culinary extravaganzas that draw Glastonbury comparisons with their massive line-ups and endless entertainment. These all-singing, all-dancing events are the rock concerts of the food world.
So, where does the Nantwich Food Festival fit into this culinary hierarchy? It proudly stands apart, carving out a unique identity as one of the largest free-to-enter food festivals in the UK. This year, our three-day feast kicks off at 11 am on Friday, 30th August, offering an early bird chance to explore the town without the usual hustle and bustle.
What Cooking Means to You
Comfort, creativity, or banging out a perfect Sunday dinner – whatever cooking means to you, you’ve probably done a lot of it, experiencing everything from the brilliant to the burnt. Sound familiar? Then you’re probably a fan of cooking shows too, right? We certainly are.
Get Hands-On with the Cookalong
After its successful launch last year, the ‘Cookalong’ is back. This is your chance to get hands-on and learn from the pros. From lobster salad to risotto, coffee tasting to cocktail making, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to book in advance to secure your spot.
We’re especially excited about the coffee sessions. The Crave Coffee Experience, Origin to Cup, and everything in between will have you brewing up three different single-origin coffees from Brazil using the V60 brewing method.
Meet the Celebrity Chefs
And then, there are the celebrity chefs. A standout this year is Cherish Finden. Known for her role as a judge on Bake Off: The Professionals, Cherish combines culinary artistry with patisserie, pushing the boundaries of dessert creation. With over 20 years of experience, she has earned accolades like the Top London Afternoon Tea Award and the Pastry Chef of the Year by the Craft Guild of Chefs.
Shout Out to the Volunteers
We couldn’t talk about the food fest, its impact, and its importance without shouting out the extraordinary team of volunteers that make it happen. Yep, you heard it right – volunteers, doing something for nothing, which is rare these days. Months of planning, organisation, conversations, meetings, hours, and hours of time are given up to make each year’s festival the best it can possibly be. Join us in thanking them all over the festival this year.
It’s not just about the top-notch scran available. The town bursts into life with live music everywhere, events in bars and shops, and the entire community gets behind what has become a legendary weekend.
We’ll be there doing our thing – capturing content, interviewing festivalgoers, eating, drinking, dancing, you name it. Come and say hello if you see the TFM team!

The Nest: a place of rest, retreat, or, in this instance, a haven for gin lovers. Nestled in the heart of Nantwich in the old Chatwins building on Pepper Street, The Nest stands out with its cool blue frontage and sleek, glass-fronted bar, elevating the street’s vibe exponentially. With a style that wouldn’t be out of place in a trendy city, this bar has upped the game for Nantwich nightlife and is off to a “flying” start.
From Wrenbury to Nantwich: A Family Dream
The Nest is the brainchild of Three Wrens, an independent family business founded by Nick Wadeson and his family in 2019 in Wrenbury. Their journey has been nothing short of remarkable, transforming a 1,000 sq ft space into what Nick describes as a “gin lover’s playground.”

A gin school: Learn the art of gin distillation and create your own unique blends.
A gift shop: Discover a range of spirits and hampers perfect for any gin aficionado.

Supporting a Legacy of Excellence
Three Wrens Gin isn’t new to accolades. They’ve garnered 10 gold medals from prestigious competitions such as the World Gin Awards and Global Spirits Masters. In 2022, they were named Cheshire’s Drink Producer of the Year and are among the select few craft distillers to receive the Golden Fork at the Great Taste Awards. Their primary operations will continue at Three Wrens HQ, Juniper House, ensuring the same quality and dedication.
Join the Journey
As The Nest prepares to open its doors, Three Wrens is offering prepurchase experiences to fund the fit-out costs, which can be redeemed once the bar opens. It’s a unique way to be part of this exciting venture from the ground up.

As proud sponsors of the Nantwich Food Festival, Reaseheath’s contributions to local events are well-known, but today, we wanted to delve deeper into what makes this college so special and there is so much we didn’t know.

I FEEL THE NEED, THE NEED FORE GOLF
SPORT SPOTLIGHT
DISCOVERING NEED GOLF CENTRE
When you think of golf, you might picture pristine courses, exclusive clubs, and a certain air of elitism. But James and Sophie Need had a different vision. They wanted to change the narrative and make golf accessible, fun, and inviting for everyone. Their journey began on 5th October 2019, but the roots of NEED GOLF Centre stretch back much further.
James spent his childhood on this very land, which his grandfather had owned for over 30 years. It was here that his dad handed him his first set of golf clubs – an old set of Dunlops. With this deep connection to the land and the sport, James, a professional golfer, saw an opportunity. Nantwich, his hometown, lacked a modern, community-driven golf facility. Meanwhile, Sophie brought her expertise from a career in property development and architecture, enabling them to execute their shared vision flawlessly. “We wanted to bring a family business to the area that was not only brand-aware but also captured our love of golf paired with fun,” Sophie explains. “Whether you’re a serious golfer or just in it for the social experience, we wanted to cover it all.”
A Golfing Haven
Today, NEED GOLF Centre stands as a testament to James and Sophie’s dedication. Their philosophy is simple: offer the very best facilities to help people practice and enjoy golf. And they deliver. From 6 am, the NEED GOLF team, ten strong, braves the elements to set up and keep the range running smoothly.
The centre hosts a variety of events, from collaborations with Bentley and Nantwich Town FC to their famed Pizza & Beer nights, which are always a sell-out. One of the standout events is The NEED CUP, a Ryder Cup-style competition, with the next one planned for September. They also run a Winter League, ensuring the centre is bustling year-round.
Recognition hasn’t eluded them either. NEED GOLF Centre, powered by Toptracer Technology, has been awarded an exclusive Toptracer award within Europe and the Middle East for two consecutive years. It’s recognised as one of the best driving ranges in the country, offering top-class practice facilities and expert golf instruction. Their innovative approach has seen them become one of the UK’s fastest-growing golf academies, attracting students worldwide.
Thousands flock to the centre each month to enjoy its unique blend of serious practice and casual fun. It’s not just for the traditional golfer; NEED GOLF Centre welcomes everybody, including stag and birthday parties, community events, and more. As Mike, a regular, puts it, “The relaxed community-friendly feel has broken down social barriers and changed traditional golf perceptions.”
Exciting Prospects
What does the future hold for NEED GOLF Centre? James and Sophie hinted at some exclusive plans but remained tight-lipped about the details. What they did reveal was thrilling: more trips, including an international one, and significant growth in participation and offerings.
They are the first driving range in the country to be affiliated with England Golf, and James is also backed by prestigious sponsors like Cobra and Puma. This year, he was announced as American Golf’s official online coach. With over 2 million views a month on social media, their audience is expansive and inclusive. “There are no restrictions, age-wise or otherwise,” James says.
Their mission is clear: “Driving ranges get people into golf. We are helping to change the way people look at golf, not only in the local community but in the industry as a whole.”
TFM Review: Why We Love NEED GOLF
So, next time you feel the need – the need fore golf – head over to NEED GOLF Centre. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed.

BUILD STUDENTS' CONFIDENCE & IDEAS THROUGH PERFORMING ARTS
PERFORMING ARTS SPOTLIGHT
EXCITING NEWS: THE PAULINE QUIRKE ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS IS COMING TO NANTWICH!
Picture the scene: our TFM team is settling in at the office, ready to start a new day of planning articles for 3.0, when an email arrives with a "ping" (or whatever an email sounds like). Let’s skip to the good bit. The email read, "I just wanted to touch base with you as I came across your magazine whilst doing some research, and we love what you stand for! I'm emailing today from The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts head office because we're opening a brand-new weekend performing arts academy in Nantwich this September." After the high-fiving had finished and we composed ourselves, it was time to call the team at PQA and find out more.
Lights, Camera, Action! — Nantwich is getting a new performing arts academy!
Why Nantwich?
"I live in Nantwich, and I love the town," says Jenny Berrisford, the Principal behind the new PQA Nantwich. "I think it would be fabulous to have a PQA here. The town’s charm and vibrant community make it the perfect spot for our academy." Jenny is enthusiastic about the performance opportunities that PQA Nantwich will bring, including shows at The Crewe Lyceum and even trips to perform on the West End stage.
Jenny's Journey with PQA
Jenny’s journey with PQA began eight years ago as a Film and TV teacher. "I fell in love with making wild films and helping students tell their stories through cinema," she says. After four years of making exciting films, she was offered the role of Principal of PQA Chester in 2021. Since then, she has produced incredible films, shows, musicals, and plays, providing students with unique performance opportunities and helping them grow in confidence.
Performance Expertise
When not at PQA, Jenny is a professional filmmaker and actress. She has performed nationwide, acted in numerous adverts, and worked behind the camera as a director, camera operator, and producer. With a 1st Class Degree in Media and Performance from the University of Salford and a Masters in Film, TV, and Production from The University of Birmingham, Jenny brings a wealth of experience. She has worked with the BBC, ITV, Into Film, and the British Film Institute, creating award-winning shorts with young people across the UK.
PQA Nantwich's Ethos
"PQA Nantwich will be a warm and welcoming place to support every student," Jenny says. "We aim to build students' confidence and love of themselves and their ideas through performing arts." The academy will be a fun and exciting place for students to develop their creativity, whether they dream of performing on the West End stage, becoming a movie director, or simply making new friends.
The Importance of the Arts
Jenny believes the arts are crucial for humanity and young people's wellbeing. "I love being a Principal; it's the best job in the world. Watching a nervous student gain confidence and participate fully in our sessions is the most rewarding experience," she shares. PQA has changed many lives, helping students believe in themselves and their abilities. Jenny loves making films and producing shows, creating magical memories for PQA students.
What Makes PQA Different?
PQA stands out because it offers more than just Musical Theatre. Alongside singing, dancing, and acting, students engage in Comedy and Drama, learning scripted work, improvisation, and stand-up comedy. In the Film and TV module, they explore screen writing, camera work, lighting, costume, makeup, and more, making a different movie every few weeks. Students see their ideas come to life on the big screen at redcarpet cinema events. "PQA offers so many opportunities and experiences, and I love that!" Jenny exclaims.
What is PQA?
Founded by Pauline Quirke MBE and her husband Steve in 2007, the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts aims to help young people realize their full potential through a diverse spectrum of performing arts. With over 200 academies, this ethos remains central. PQA believes every young person has something unique to offer and strives to bring out the best in each student.
Confidence Boosting and Creativity
Building confidence and developing performance skills are key reasons children join PQA. Performing arts in a safe, encouraging environment helps young people build self-belief and try new things. PQA nurtures their creativity, which positively impacts mental health, boosts self-esteem, and fosters connections with others.
Connecting with Others
The performing arts industry relies heavily on teamwork. PQA students learn to work within groups, share common goals, and form strong bonds with peers. This experience deepens empathy and compassion, benefiting them in all aspects of life.
Find Out for Yourself
PQA offers a monthly fixed cost of £92 (£69 for siblings and £46 for ages 4 & 5), including the first t-shirt for free. Open for 41 weeks of the year, students can enrol at any time and try a full session for free. If you're in Nantwich and have a budding performer at home, check out the new PQA academy. It’s an opportunity you won’t want to miss!

Her journey is one of passion, perseverance, and a relentless drive to empower others through beauty and wellness.
A Journey Rooted in Beauty and Empowerment
From a young age, Wiola knew that beauty and art were more than just interests—they were her calling. A confident and driven individual, she has always been passionate about helping other women embrace their best selves. Her mission? To make everyone feel more beautiful and confident, believing that self-love and acceptance are the keys to unlocking our full potential.
The Beginning of a Dream
Wiola’s journey took her from her home country to England at the age of 19. What was meant to be a brief stay turned into a life-changing adventure. It took her four years to master English, paving the way for her dreams to take flight. In 2012, she embarked on her beauty therapy career, studying full-time at Beauty Therapy College. Armed with her VTCT NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy, Wiola began her professional journey at a spa hotel, all while building her client base in a home beauty room. By 2019, her dedication and passion led her to open her first beauty salon, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
Diving into Aesthetics
Wiola’s fascination with skin health and anti-aging treatments with a holistic approach only deepened. Her quest for knowledge led her to complete over 100 international CPD courses and advanced training with top academies. Education, she believes, is a continuous journey. Currently, she is completing her Level 5 in Aesthetic Practice, with plans to soon enrol in Level 7. Her commitment to learning ensures that Skin Aesthetics by Wiola remains at the forefront of the industry.
The Birth of Skin Aesthetics by Wiola
In 2022, Wiola’s dream became a reality with the launch of Skin Aesthetics by Wiola, a state-of-the-art skin and laser clinic in the heart of Nantwich. Our ethos? ‘Creating the best version of you’.
