Goshawk successfully performed the inspections and repairs and corrected the specified deficiencies in compliance with American Petroleum Institute (API) 653, including replacing the tank bottom, replacing the internal floating roof with a floating pan, and removing contaminated soil from under the tank bottom. The scope also included converting the geodesic dome to a fixed cone roof, installing leak detection and cathodic protection systems, modifying tank issue and receipt piping, and modifying level controls/tank alarms. The repairs completed were critical to providing a long service life and safe operating facility to the end user.

Phase I of this project encompassed performing site investigations, including engineering evaluations and constructability reviews at 33 locations in the United States, Japan, and South Korea, to ascertain fuel system filtration modification requirements. Phase II addressed removing and replacing vessels, filter separator control valves, and pump control valves and installing concrete vessel support pads, carbon steel and stainless steel flanges, pipe, tubing, valves, sampler connections, and coatings.

This project involved civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, and coatings repairs to correct facility deficiencies. We installed new canopies, demolished and installed 30,000 square feet (SF) of new concrete in the refueler parking area, and abandoned in place and replaced 400 linear feet of aviation fuel underground piping with new above-ground aviation piping. We installed new containment areas, including a central retainage basin for bulk storage fill stand, removed 35,000 SF abandoned tank berms and restored the area, and installed new emergency fuel shutoffs and tempered emergency eyewash/showers.
