ARTISTS WORKSHOPS

THE NEW ZEALAND DANCE COMPANY DANCE WORKSHOP Join The New Zealand Dance Company in an interactive workshop for all ages! Following a fun warm up with awesome music led by the dancers, participants will learn from Artistic Director Shona McCullagh how to move while defying gravity with the magic of balancing, just like the NZDC dancers in Lumina.that’s been incorporated in our own compositions.

THE EAST POINTERS - WORKSHOP Tim, Jake and Koady of The East Pointers will talk about the traditional music and dance from Prince Edward Island, Canada, and how they have blended these traditions with modern influences. The trio will demonstrate various types of tunes, both traditional and original, and discuss the close relationship between the music and dance.

WARSAW VILLAGE BAND - WORKSHOP Join members of the Warsaw Village Band for an explanation of how they use their vocal techniques and instrumentation to give a modern context to Polish folk music. Warsaw Village Band are renowned for taking traditional folk and combining it with modern elements. This workshop will give you a firsthand account of how they do this.
