There aren’t any gate sales available - however tickets can be purchased at a ticket outlet, by phone (0800 4TICKET), online and through our website via your smartphone (tickets.womad.co.nz). We advise parents to write your mobile phone number on your child’s wristband or arm so a WOMAD team member can contact you easily in the event your child gets lost. To enquire about lost children, visit the Information Centre. Please arrange with your children at the beginning of the festival to meet at the Information Centre if you are separated.

PROGRAMMES

All three-day ticket holders receive a free WOMAD programme upon entry. Additional programmes can be purchased from the WOStore for $6 – refer to the site map for location (pages 34-35). This is your first point of call for all WOMAD information including lost and found children, lost property, programming information, cash machine and public message board.

RESPECT THE SITE

Please respect this beautiful venue by staying out of the gardens. We aim to leave it in the same condition we found it. WOMAD reserves the right to remove persons from the venue who ignore this request. We ask that you also respect New Plymouth District Council’s smoke free parks, playgrounds and sports grounds policy and refrain from smoking at WOMAD.

LITTER & RECYCLING

This is a beautiful park and we really want to keep it that way. We can’t stress enough how important it is for WOMAD-goers to help us maintain a successful Zero Waste recycling programme. Please dispose of your waste in the correct recycling bins at the Zero Waste stations which are clearly signposted around the site and at the camp ground.

TOILETS

Toilet blocks are located at the racecourse entrance, in the trees next to the food court, adjacent to the Global Village retail area, next to the Information Centre, and in the Kunming Garden next to the Gables stage. Please refer to the site map for locations (pages 34 - 35).

NO GLASS/BOTTLES

Please note that all glass (bottles and drinking glasses) are banned from the site for safety reasons. All bags will be checked upon entry so do not attempt to bring in anything which can break and cause injury. Any bottles removed from the site will not be readmitted. Any wine bottle refunds must be claimed on the day of purchase within bar opening hours.

BYO alcohol is not permitted on site. If alcohol is found, it will be confiscated. Licensed bars with EFTPOS facilities are operating on-site for the duration of the event. Non-alcoholic drinks are however allowed to be brought in, but please remember no glass!

PUKEKURA PARK LIGHT TRAIL

The Pukekura Park light trail will be switched on from Friday 17 March to Sunday 19 March between 8.30pm – 12.30am each night. Take a moment to wander through beautifully illuminated trees and twinkling lights. The light trail encompasses the main lake, band rotunda, Japanese Hillside and children’s play area ACCESSIBILITY INFO

It is important to be aware that half of the WOMAD site is on a hillside, which is why we recommend physically disabled festival-goers enter the festival via the Kaimata St entrance.

VIEWING PLATFORMS

There is a viewing area for wheelchair users at the top of the road that leads to the TSB Bowl Stage. The lawns in front of the Todd Energy Brooklands Stage and the Shell Gables Stage are flat and both stages have viewing platforms for wheelchair users. Please note, the Pinetum area is very difficult for disabled people to access due to a hill with a steep incline.

ACCESSIBLE TOILETS AND SHOWERS

Accessible toilets are located adjacent to the Global Village (retail area), next to the Information Centre and at the racecourse entrance at the bottom of the hill, near the TSB Bowl stage. Please refer to the map for more details.

SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS

A local deaf liaison person and a sign language interpreter are available through the Information Centre on request. For assistance please visit the Information Centre to request their assistance.
