SIX TIPS TO MAKE MEDITATING EASY Years ago, when at university, I was in awe of a friend who completed a full-time Masters with honours, while working in a high responsibility full time job. Her secret? She always meditated before studying. Meditation has many known health benefits – improved focus, immunity, sleep, energy. It’s also known to help reduce stress, anxiety and even panic attacks. With all that being said, many people find it challenging to stop their mind’s chatter or find the time to stop and sit still for even a few minutes a day.

Guided meditation – If your mind tends to wander, use guided meditations on YouTube or download a meditation app on your device. Use headphones. Start small – Start at 5 minutes then slowly increase over time. Sit or lie down – Whatever feels right for you. Consistency – Try and stick to your daily goal – even if only for a few minutes at a time. Be kind to yourself - Don’t get annoyed if thoughts keep coming up. They will. Notice them and let them float by like clouds in the sky.
