Peyton Coleman and her parents enjoy a special moment at the Marian Foundation’s Annual Dinner.
Providing Personal Care: Peyton’s Story In 2017, Tammy Coleman was admitted to Marian Regional Medical Center at only 21 weeks gestation to hold off labor. As a high risk obstetrics patient, Tammy spent the next four weeks as an inpatient. Just one month later at only 25 weeks gestation, Peyton was brought into the world weighing 1 pound, 11 ounces. After three months in Marian’s NICU and a visit to Valley Children’s Hospital for neonatal heart surgery, Peyton was discharged home. In the words of Tammy, Peyton’s mother, “It has been a long journey and we will be eternally grateful to everyone at Marian Regional Medical Center. Also, it is a blessing to have pediatric specialists here because as a parent, it is so hard to travel long distances with a sick infant.

Neonatologist Rocky Greer, MD, and Peyton Coleman enjoy a sweet reunion at the Marian Foundation’s Annual Dinner. As pictured on the cover, Peyton was recently celebrated alongside other pediatric success stories from Marian. She is one our many Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) graduates.
“My daughter spent a little over three months in Marian’s NICU. When we left, we felt like family; the nurses, the respiratory therapists, and the Born at only 25 weeks gestation, Peyton Coleman weighed 1 pound, 11 ounces. neonatologists were amazing. On some nights we were not there we found out that Dr. Greer would sit at my daughter's incubator and just talk to her. Who couldn’t wish for anything more? I truly believe my daughter survived and is thriving today because of the wonderful team at Marian Regional Medical Center.” Peyton continues to receive pediatric care at Marian from the High Risk Infant Follow Up Program, Pulmonology, and Occupational Therapy, and is an ambassador of joy wherever she goes.
