About Marian Regional Medical Center
Marian’s history began in 1940 when, in response to a call for health care services in the community of Santa Maria, the Sisters of St. Francis founded Our Lady of Perpetual Help Hospital. With an unwavering mission to further the healing ministry of Jesus, the Sisters guided the hospital. In 1967, the new Marian Hospital at 1400 East Church Street was completed and dedicated. Through the ensuing years, many additional services, including a heart Center, were added. In 2012 , we opened our new hospital and cancer center and became known as Marian Regional Medical Center.

About Marian Regional Medical Center Foundation
The Marian Regional Medical Center Foundation was established in 1982 for the sole purpose of securing philanthropic support for the healing mission of the Sisters of Saint Francis of Penance and Christian Charity in their health care ministry at Marian Regional Medical Center.
Throughout Marian’s legacy of health and healing, philanthropy has remained essential to the medical center’s growth and development. And it is your meaningful philanthropic gifts that continue to drive the hospital’s healing work— allowing Marian to fulfill its promise to provide patients and families with unparalleled care.
Why is philanthropy important?
As a nonprofit hospital, Marian relies on private support and contributions to meet the evolving health care needs of its growing community. While we do generate some
revenue through billed patient services, only a small portion can be reinvested back into the hospital. In contrast, 100% of donations received through our fundraising efforts directly support our mission and funding priorities. While both revenue sources are important, philanthropic contributions have a far greater impact on the hospital’s future. They enable expansion, repairs, and the provision of essential care for the community’s most vulnerable during their greatest time of need.
Without philanthropy, the hospital would have to fund all improvements through its operating budget, potentially delaying urgently needed programs, services, technology, equipment, and capital improvements. Donations empower Marian to continue its healing mission and bring state-of-the-art equipment and advancements to our hospital, ensuring the highest quality of care for all.

Donations stay local.
One hundred percent of every donation to the Foundation stays local and benefits our community.
