Joe Thompson's star-studded testimonial match raises funds for The Christie There was an incredible atmosphere at the Crown Oil Arena in July for Joe Thompson’s testimonial match, as the Rochdale Legends took on the All Stars.
Over 1800 Dale fans turned out for the family event, which together with donations, has raised over £6000 for The Christie. Joe Thompson commented that he was “amazed by the turnout” and thanked everyone who had helped make it an “unbelievable day”.

Keith Hill returned to Rochdale to manage the Rochdale Legends with current first team manager Brian Barry-Murphy taking to the field, alongside players such as Gary Jones, Chris Dagnall, Adam Rundle and many others. The All Stars team included Mark Wright, Joleon Lescott, Frank Sinclair, Steven Reid, Ben Ryan Davies and many more famous faces, and was managed by Fabrice Muamba & Brett Issitt.
