EYES TO THE SKY: STURGEON COUNTY HOME TO ALBERTA INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW
After two years of cancelled events, the Alberta International Airshow was back this year at the Villeneuve Airport. Sturgeon County took an active role in this year’s planning alongside the organizers, the Edmonton International Airport and the City of Edmonton, which helped make this one of the most successful and well-run airshows in Villeneuve Airport’s history. The event was a resounding success, drawing more than 25,000 aviation enthusiasts from near and far to take in the thrilling performances and displays. The event included performances and stunts by nine teams, including the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the CF-18 Demonstration Team and the SkyHawks — the Canadian Forces parachute team. The Villeneuve Airport is a premier destination for innovation and investment. This key regional asset was showcased at the event for all to see.
