LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

PAIGE ZUTAVERN - Omaha/Lincoln - President (402) 730-0096 | Paige@StrictlyBusinessOmaha.com

My Two Cents on Shopping Local for Christmas Embracing the heart of the holiday season in December, my enduring mantra, both for this month and beyond, is simple: SHOP LOCAL! As our shopping increases for Christmas, driven by our desire to find the perfect gifts for loved ones, employees and teammates, it’s all too easy to be lured by the convenience and potential cost savings offered by large online retailers. Yet, I want to highlight the importance of supporting our local community. This holiday season, let’s make a deliberate choice to support the locals and do our Christmas shopping at the small businesses right here in Lincoln.

Business for advertising or have become an important part of my life in some other way. I feel truly grateful when I look around and see these incredible individuals who have made my journey so special. I especially want to thank my staff. You guys are a great team and have made me look good by making the magazine the best it can be. Keep up the good work! As we enter 2024, I’m excited about all the new things coming my way – the good, the not-so-good, new chances and fresh challenges. I’m also looking forward to making new friends and connections, working with new clients and trying out new things. It’s going to be an interesting year, and I can’t wait to see what happens.

In addition to promoting shopping locally for Christmas, Strictly Business wants to thank our amazing clients, readers, staff, family and friends for making 2023 a great one.

To preserve Lincoln as a vibrant and thriving community, each of us has to shop local and support the small businesses of our community, especially during the holiday season – when our support can make a meaningful difference. Showing our support means wholeheartedly embracing the act of shopping locally and throwing our unwavering support behind the small businesses that form the lifeblood of our community. When we choose to buy from these local entrepreneurs, we are not merely making transactions; we are contributing to the livelihoods of our friends and neighbors. It’s a collective effort that fosters a sense of unity, resilience and sustainability that extends beyond Christmas.

In addition to promoting shopping locally for Christmas, Strictly Business wants to thank our amazing clients, readers, staff, family and friends for making 2023 a great one. The new year is almost here, making me reflect back on 2023 and all the laughs and joy it brought. Running a business has its tough moments, but what makes it all worth it are the amazing people who have either partnered with Strictly

Even though the calendar year is changing, one thing will stay the same: our desire here at Strictly Business to paint you as the expert in your industry. We are all about telling stories and building trust for you, both in our print publication and online. When you advertise with us, you’re not just running an ad; you’re joining a team that cares about local businesses and their success. We are not just here to showcase your brand; we are invested in your growth and will do everything we can to help you grow. So, as we celebrate Christmas and enter the new year, let’s do it together as a community. Gather your family and friends, your employees and coworkers, your pets, and let’s make this the best year-end yet! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! – Paige Zutavern

Let Strictly Business help you lock in your status as THE EXPERT in your industry, utilizing print, the internet and social media. Find out how by contacting Paige at (402) 466-3330.

Hallmark Homecare Expands to Nebraska Hallmark Homecare, Inc. is proud to announce its recent expansion to Omaha. The newest office of this rapidly growing recruiting and matchmaking service for senior clients with caregivers will be o p e r a t e d by S h a n e Neuharth, who has recently joined Hallmark Homecare as a Franchise Partner. In addition, Taylor Bopes has joined as Director of Operations and brings extensive experience in the Senior Care Segment. Also joining the group is Johanna Hernandez, who will head up recruiting efforts. Many seniors seeking in-home care are struggling to find affordable, reliable, quality services in order to stay independent at home. With improvements in technology, access to resources and a new cultural mindset, Hallmark Homecare’s consumer-directed model makes it more advantageous in many cases to cut out the agency “middleman” and hire independent caregivers directly. “Our client-directed model of care is becoming increasingly necessary for many due to the escalating cost of in-home care,” states Shane Neuharth. “I am proud to join Hallmark Homecare and provide my community with a powerful option, one in which families can meet and select their perfect independent caregivers to provide services for their loved one. They can remain at home where they want to be at more affordable rates.” To contact your local Hallmark Homecare office, call (402) 289-8200 or email sneuharth@hallmarkhomecare.com. Mapes Industries Unifies Divisions Under New Leadership Family owned and operated for 71 years, Mapes Industries has long been a staple of the Lincoln manufacturing community. Mapes manufactures their Canopy and Panel products for distribution to different segments of the commercial construction industry. The initial intent of the independent operation, separate management of teams and minimal synergy or contact between divisions was to ensure that each division was focused on serving their respective segments of the commercial construction industry. However, upon Marilyn Cintani stepping into the role of CEO, it came to be realized that the company could improve from corporate unity and a team-based approach. This required a reorganization of leadership and a cultural reset. Sharing her vision of a unified Mapes Industries, a new management team was appointed in 2023: Marilyn Cintani, CEO/Chairperson; Matthew Parde, President; Ryan King, Vice President of Corporate Operations; Alex Roschewski, Vice President of Panel Operations; Spencer Sawtelle, Vice President of Canopy Operations; Kendall Frantz, Vice President of Sales and Business Development. This new team has been working closely with one another over the past year and will oversee the next phase of growth and prosperity for Mapes Industries. Under Marilyn’s leadership, the company is stronger than ever with both divisions breaking or nearing sales records in 2023 and showing strength headed into 2024. BUSINESS NEWS Plastilite Corporation Announces Expanded Recycling Capabilities Plastilite Corporation, located in northeast Omaha, is proud to announce their expanded EPS #6 foam recycling capabilities. With a grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust, they have purchased a larger foam densifier and have tripled their drop off capacities. EPS foam (better known as Styrofoam) is the rigid white packaging used to transport goods like televisions, appliances, temperature sensitive medications, those steaks from a local company you may have heard of and even your holiday presents.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS Farris Engineering wishes our clients and their families a happy holiday season. We appreciate your business and wish you great success in the year ahead!

BRINGING YOUR BUILDINGS TO LIFE

“Plastics are being vilified in the press these days by people who don’t see or understand the whole picture,” said CEO Jon Ehly. “Because it is so lightweight, EPS packaging reduces the carbon footprint of everything that it protects during transportation from steaks to produce to refrigerators. Numerous life cycle analysis reports confirm the use of EPS packaging results in less greenhouse gas emissions, pollution, water consumption and waste than alternative materials. We want everyone to know that it’s also completely recyclable.” The majority of the recycled EPS material is densified and then resold to several companies that make insulating board for construction, picture frames and screwdriver handles. In 2022, Plastilite recycled over 99 tons of EPS material. In 2023, with the renewed community outreach, Plastilite has recycled over 133 tons and counting. Please visit www.plastilite.com/recycle for more information related to what is and is not accepted for recycling and check Plastilite Corporation out in the latest edition of Wasteline Omaha at www. wasteline.org.

Just when we think we’ve got something figured out, its time to change gears again. It’s a love/hate relationship. What has been your most important achievement professionally? - I’ve been lucky to have worked with smart business leaders in a wide range of companies. Choosing my path carefully over the past 20 years gave me the experience, knowledge and strength to jump into business ownership. I am grateful for every experience. Tell us a little about your family. - I have a wonderful husband, Drew, who allows me the space to take risks. I was blessed with two bonus kids, one of them, my step-son Colton, is on our team at Clothes Mentor. My seven-year-old son Wyatt also loves to help at our store. How did you get started in the business? - I think most bankers get here by accident. I had a few service-industry jobs before I applied for a part-time teller position back in 1998. I wanted to gain some professional work experience. Here I am, almost 25 years later, still helping clients in the banking industry. I am thankful for all the great mentors I’ve had over the course of my career. These relationships have opened doors that otherwise might not have been opened. What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? - I grew up in consumer banking and managed teams for 20 years across several states. My goal had always been to move into a commercial lending role; that happened at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was transitioning to a new role, navigating how to work remotely and ended up going through two bank acquisitions in two years. It was a challenging stretch, but I learned so much over that time. What has been your most important achievement professionally? - I used to avoid the topic altogether, but going back and getting my college degree in my 40s has been my most important professional achievement. I earned my degree in business administration from Doane University; it has a great program for adult learners. I even stuck around and am now halfway through my MBA. I can find something in every course I took that helped me professionally. Tell us a little about your family. - I moved back to Omaha after 10 years away in Nashville and Kansas City. I met my wife shortly after moving back. Together, we have four girls. The oldest is a sophomore at UNL. We have a senior and a sophomore in high school, and our youngest is a sixth grader. They keep us busy with sports and school activities. What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? - “Sunday Reset” is the most important part of my weekly routine. My wife and I have a list of things like household chores, meal planning/prep, and calendar syncing that ensures we have a successful week. Planning and prioritizing help us to stay focused in life.

Who inspires you? - Each of my parents has always served as an inspiration to me. My dad is a Vietnam Vet and was combat wounded in 1968. He recovered physically and worked hard to provide for his family. I can remember Dad receiving an award for not calling in sick for 25 years in a row! My mom was also a great role model for me and my siblings. She was passionate about her work and never met a stranger. What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? - I know that every Nebraskan’s dad taught them how to grill the perfect steak, including mine. My dad handed down the best method and I will die on that hill! If our readers would like to contact you, how should they do so? - Michael.schommer@ubt.com #PrintProudDigitalSmart

ERIKA Erika Paterson

TOMMY’S EXPRESS CAR WASH Meet Erika Patterson, HR Manager at Tommy’s Express Car Wash. Tell us a little about your business. - Tommy’s Express is more than just a car wash. We take pride in what we do each day, and that’s making sure our guests enjoy every experience. From the window; interacting with our team, through the tunnel; enjoying one of our four washes, exiting through the vacuum lot; receiving help from our Vacuum Concierge or free self service of vacuums, mat washers and air for your tires. In addition to this, the team. Like our guests, we are nothing without our team and their hard work. We have so many talented individuals that provide different skill sets to the table. It’s amazing to watch them grow as we grow more into Omaha. How did you get started in the business? - I was approached with the opportunity of Assistant Manager when our first location opened in October 2018. I was Assistant Manager for another business at that time and I’ll be honest, I had no idea what I was getting myself into working at a car wash. Tommy’s Express provided me with the growth opportunities to get me where I am today, and I couldn’t be more thankful. What has been your most important achievement professionally? - Being given this opportunity without experience. I received handson training and help with furthering my education in this profession. I didn’t realize how much I like being a part of building each site’s team, establish and maintain those relationships, watch the team grow and achieve success. What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? - Oddly enough, cleaning my house and making sure it’s clean. There’s a Zen feeling to it in a sense, for me. I like to multitask on my days off to get as much done as possible – who doesn’t? Running errands, window shopping, sometimes actually shopping and enjoying a nice iced coffee.

Don’t let cleaning fall through the cracks this autumn Stop pushing tiled surfaces to the bottom of your to-do list. Our team of experts will give your tiled spaces a professional clean, giving you the look of a new bathroom without the hassle, mess, and expense of a remodel.

Chris Hill, President of AOI, talks about the importance of giving back, “AOI Gives is an employee-led initiative, whereby individuals from throughout the organization work together to determine how we can help our community; ideally where there are volunteer opportunities that allow us to work side-by-side to make a difference. Our 2023 team explored a variety of organizations, but it was Angels Among Us that resonated the most. The local impact, ways in which families are supported and the opportunities to engage aligned the AOI team in a powerful way. EPIC for Girls and J’s Braintrust Celebrate First Graduates from Girls Ref the World Academy The first group of young women from the Girls Ref the Wo r l d ( G Ro W ) Academy, an EPIC for Girls and J’s Braintrust initiative, graduated in November at the Village Empowerment Center in Omaha. The celebration wasn’t just about their achievement – it marked a huge leap forward in bringing diversity to sports officiating. Following their graduation, these young women are now registered with the Nebraska School Activities Association and are stepping into the world of sports officiating. The success of this first cohort is a positive indicator for future endeavors in fostering inclusive representation in sports administration. This achievement by the GRoW Academy is part of a broader initiative by EPIC for Girls, which aims to empower BIPOC girls in sports, education and mentorship through its community partnerships. EPIC for Girls, in collaboration with J's Braintrust, Lozafina Marketing and Public Relations and EgoFree Golf, is currently offering three unique internship opportunities for young women aged 14-24. Angel Guardians Inc. Recaps Project Project November 13 On Friday, November 13, Angel Guardians Inc. (AGI) opened their show at Project Project and the turnout was amazing. NONPROFIT NEWS NeighborGood Community Pantry Shares USDA’s Household Food Security Report NeighborGood C o m m u n i t y Pa n t y was sad to hear that last month the United States Department of A g r i c u l t u r e ( U S DA ) released its Household Food Security in the United States in 2022 report showing that one in seven people, including one in five children in the United States live in food insecure households – an increase of more than 30% and 40% respectively compared to 2021. That is the highest rate and number since 2014 and the largest one-year increase since 2008, which many will remember as the first year of the Great Recession. While many people are shocked by these numbers, NeighborGood Community Pantry is not. These numbers reflect what they and other area pantries have been seeing first-hand over the past several months: increased need, lines more than doubling in size and record high attendance of new families. The issue of food insecurity in Sarpy County and across the country is persistent and complex. The USDA’s most recent data is merely a symptom of a chronic problem. NeighborGood is so grateful to their partners who work in housing, childcare, education and other community provider sectors across the county to support our neighbors. The need continues to persist and will only be able to continue by working together. NeighborGood serves those in need in the greater Sarpy County and Ralston community. For more information, go to neighborgoodpantry.org or contact Executive Director Melissa Nelson at neighborgoodcommunitypantry@gmail.com.

NONPROFIT NEWS Project Harmony Hosting Annual 26 Days of Kindness Campaign Through December 14

New Cardiovascular Suite Takes Center Stage in Methodist Jennie Edmundson Year-End Campaign

Although 26 Days of Kindness begins November 19, it goes through December 14 – so, there is still plenty of time to get involved. Project Harmony has been recognizing 26 Days of Kindness throughout their campus as well as with random acts of kindness in the community.

Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital (MJE) and the Jennie Edmundson Foundation (JEF) extend heartfelt thanks to donors and employees for their steadfast support throughout the year. In a remarkable show of commitment, 80% of MJE staff have backed vital initiatives like the cardiovascular suite, employee resilience fund, and cancer care in this year's Employee Caring Campaign.

You have probably seen the 26 Days of Kindness campaign pop up on Twitter or Facebook – a national movement to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Social media sites describe the acts of kindness as actions that are directed toward members of the Newton community, as well as to others across the nation and even globally.

As the year-end approaches, MJE and JEF shift their focus to community support, seeking contributions for the construction of advanced cardiovascular suites. These suites, equipped with two catheterization labs, will enhance MJE's capabilities to provide the best care possible, close to home.

It is fair to be upset, or even angry, when terrible things happen to children. It is fair to wish for an end to senseless violence. But each one of us can move towards resilience and healing by taking positive action and sharing kindness. Imagine if everyone could commit to doing one act of kindness for 26 days – communities coming together, pooling their resources and making a difference in the life of a child. As we approach the holiday season, please join Project Harmony in committing to one act of kindness for 26 days (and beyond) – donating time, talent or treasure.

Tara Slevin, President of Jennie Edmundson Foundation, emphasized, "Treating every patient as family is our mission. The transformation to state-of-the-art cardiovascular suites will establish MJE as the leading cardiovascular provider in our southwest and western Iowa region."

Find out more about Project Harmony at www.projectharmony.com or by calling (402) 595-1326.

As the year concludes, the Foundation urges you to consider a gift to support the construction of cardiovascular suites. To donate or for more information, visit jehfoundation.org or call (712) 396-6040. Your continued support is invaluable.

Additional Impact Grant funding supported: the City of Avoca’s “Holidays on Main Street” event that supported live reindeer and a sleigh photo opportunity to more than 500 rural Pottawattamie County residents; the 30th Annual Carson Christmas event showcasing the city’s businesses and volunteer organizations; and the annual Carter Lake Winter Festival where grant funds were used to purchase gifts for nearly 220 children. In today's world, there is a growing emphasis among building owners on creating environmentally responsible working spaces. However, they are increasingly recognizing the importance of optimizing energy usage without compromising the comfort of occupants. Lighting and HVAC systems are two major contributors to a building's energy consumption. They play a crucial role in creating a comfortable and well-lit environment for occupants, but they also represent a significant portion of a building's operational costs. It's estimated that these systems can collectively account for up to 80% of a building's total energy usage. Given the substantial impact of lighting and HVAC on a building's energy footprint, Engineered Controls recognizes the importance of implementing effective energy management strategies. To achieve this, they utilize their Building Automation System, a sophisticated technology that allows for the centralized control and optimization of these critical systems.

Pat Killeen Engineered Controls

To support customers in identifying areas where efficiency can be improved within their buildings, Engineered Controls utilizes Energy Optimization programs. These programs leverage a diverse array of energy-efficient products and solutions and are overseen by their team of knowledgeable professionals. Pat Killeen, the Owner of Engineered Controls, shared the program's objective: "The aim is to provide building owners and managers with real-world data to make informed decisions that not only enhance the comfort of occupants but also reduce energy consumption."

BUSINESS REBATES

Engineered Controls is dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services that establish efficient, safe and comfortable building environments. By collaborating with Engineered Controls, customers can count on achieving optimal results while contributing to energy conservation efforts. Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) also recognizes the important impacts of lighting and HVAC on energy consumption, and has launched rebates to help people consume less energy without sacrificing comfort. OPPD emphasizes the range of energy-efficient solutions available for residential and commercial customers, advocating for LED lighting upgrades and the adoption of smart thermostats with optimized programming to enhance heating and cooling system operations. OPPD offers incentives such as rebates through their Smart Thermostat and Cool Smart programs for homeowners. Additionally, for businesses with more complex HVAC systems, OPPD ensures direct communication channels to prioritize their specific needs, including rebates for new high-efficiency AC or heat pump installations (15 SEER or higher). Additionally, OPPD extends its array of services beyond product incentives, encompassing energy efficiency consulting, Energy Star evaluations, energy monitoring solutions and on-site generation programs covering both traditional and renewable energy sources. Their overarching goal remains centered on reducing utility expenses for customers by employing diverse building optimization strategies, proprietary technologies and offering commercial rebates. Notably, OPPD's consultative approach is meticulously tailored to align with the unique objectives of each customer, ensuring a personalized and effective energy management plan. Omaha's experts specialize in implementing energy-efficient technologies crucial for a sustainable future. Senior Living

The senior care industry confronts significant challenges, including the rapidly growing population of seniors, workforce shortages and the demand for high-quality, individualized care. To address these challenges, a multifaceted approach is essential. This involves investment in workforce development and training to attract and retain caregivers, adopting technology solutions for efficient and personalized care delivery and prioritizing collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure holistic well-being. Person-centered care plans and family involvement play a crucial role in addressing the diverse needs of seniors, promoting their independence and dignity. Meeting these challenges requires a combination of innovation, compassion and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our aging population - something that Omaha businesses do exceptionally well. The process of navigating senior living and care choices is a multifaceted and time-consuming endeavor. As individuals age, or when their loved ones reach an age where senior care is necessary, they are often faced with a myriad of options and decisions to make. This journey typically involves considering various aspects, such as the level of care needed, financial considerations, location preferences and the unique health and lifestyle requirements of the senior in question. The senior care industry itself is also constantly evolving with a diverse range of choices, from independent living communities to assisted living facilities, memory care and skilled nursing facilities, each offering a different set of services and amenities. Striving to find the best fit for their loved ones can be an overwhelming experience for families, and it requires thorough research, careful evaluation and thoughtful decision-making to ensure that the senior's well-being, comfort and quality of life are upheld throughout their senior living journey.

Hallmark Homecare is the perfect solution for seniors in need who aren’t ready to leave their home for an institutional setting, but because of illness or chronic conditions need support to remain at home.

Because finding the right care option can be a very stressful and emotional process, Assisted Living Locators of Greater Omaha goes the extra mile to work with you through the entire decisionmaking process, using expertise to find the appropriate care option for now and the future. When looking at the best decision for now, it is important to consider the upcoming holidays – Christmas and New Year’s. The holiday season is a time for joy, celebration and togetherness. It's also a time when many of us reconnect with our loved ones, including senior family members. While the holidays can be a source of happiness, they can also bring about challenges for seniors. “Our mission is to empower seniors and their families to make informed decisions about senior living,” shared Owner Nikki Wulff. “During the holidays, we encourage families to plan ahead so they can spend quality time with their loved ones. This includes considering their unique needs and preferences, reaching out in advance to make plans and offering assistance with decorating and transportation.” From the first step to the last, no matter where Nikki Wulff you are in your search for the perfect senior care, Nikki and her team is here to provide Assisted Living Locators answers to all your questions and alleviate any concerns. They will ensure that you’re fully at ease with the choices you make. As with any type of senior care, education also plays a pivotal role in memory care for seniors facing cognitive decline, including Alzheimer's and dementia; however, the industry faces challenges such as a lack of awareness and stigma surrounding memory-related conditions, diverse individual needs, limited resources and access and evolving research in the field. Tailoring education to seniors and caregivers while addressing the emotional impact of cognitive decline, ensuring compliance with regulations and staying updated with best practices are critical aspects of overcoming these obstacles and providing effective memory care. Prairie Meadows Alzheimer’s Care Center, in response to the challenges of education in the field, makes a point to provide exceptional, in-depth education for their team members in relation to memory care so that you never have to worry about your loved ones. According to Don Woods, “Our training programs are comprehensive and encompass various dementia types. We cover a lot of ground so that team members have valuable insights and effective strategies to engage with individuals affected by memory care issues.”

Don Woods Prairie Meadows Alzheimer’s Care Center

Additionally, Prairie Meadows places emphasis on remaining up-todate with new research about memory care so they can implement such education into their treatment plans. Their most popular program, SPARK, draws inspiration from the teachings and research of Maria Montessori and Dr. Cameron Camp. SPARK is designed to offer individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease meaningful and life-enriching experiences. This unique program engages residents by implementing well-established rehabilitative strategies aimed at enhancing interaction, optimizing cognitive abilities and instilling a profound sense of purpose and accomplishment. Recognizing the diversity of needs among seniors, it's important to distinguish between long-term care and short-term rehabilitation. While long-term care is necessary for many seniors, short-term rehabilitation is something that cannot be overlooked or mistaken for the need for long-term care. Unique to Brookestone Meadows

is its unwavering emphasis on the discharge process. The facility takes great pride in its dedicated commitment to facilitating a patient's smooth transition back to their home or a retirement community, a commitment exemplified through its robust discharge planning services. "Our dedicated team members are wholeheartedly committed to making a meaningful and positive impact in the lives of the seniors we have the privilege to Katie Van Boshkirk care for," expressed Katie Van Boskirk, Brookestone Meadows Social Services Coordinator. "It's a two-way journey of learning and growth, and we often find that we gain as much wisdom, inspiration and life lessons from our senior residents as they do from us." Brookestone Meadows' approach to rehabilitation is meticulously designed to guarantee the long-term success and well-being of its patients, extending far beyond their stay at the facility. The team at Brookestone Meadows recognizes that the ultimate goal is not only to provide excellent care during the patient's time with them, but also to equip individuals with the tools, support and resources necessary for a successful and sustainable life once they leave the facility. The comprehensive discharge planning ensures that individuals are wellprepared for the next phase of their journey, offering peace of mind to both patients and their families. In the senior care industry, another pressing challenge revolves around the escalating demand for senior care services. This surge in demand is further exacerbated by a shortage of caregivers, a situation that significantly impacts the overall cost of care. Consequently, seniors are facing the daunting task of locating suitable care options that align with their financial constraints. With 2024 right around the corner, many families and seniors are figuring out what the next steps are, taking cost, quality of care and the time they’ll be able to spend together into consideration. To help alleviate some of the strain in the senior care industry, Hallmark Homecare, a Referral Agency specializing in the recruitment and placement of experienced caregivers with seniors on a direct-hire basis, is placing extra emphasis on their value propositions including affordability, client controlled care and creating a larger pool of professional caregivers who make more money with preferable shifts and increased hours.

According to Shane Neuhar th, “The competitive advantage of the Hallmark Model of Care stems from cutting out the middleman, namely the traditional senior care agency. This results in our clients saving money and having a greater voice in decisions concerning their care while also experiencing greater continuity in caregiver relationships. The Hallmark Model's higher caregiver pay and preferable shifts with increased hours significantly increases the pool of qualified caregivers for clients Shane Neuharth to select from. Lastly, our clients are fully Hallmark Homecare protected knowing their caregivers are credentialed, verified, screened and fully insured.” Hallmark Homecare's comprehensive approach focuses on making senior care more accessible, personalized and attractive for both seniors and caregivers, contributing positively to the evolving landscape of the senior care industry. Education in senior care is essential for providing high-quality, safe and tailored support to elderly individuals. It equips caregivers with the knowledge and skills to address the unique needs and challenges of seniors, and equips seniors and their families with the knowledge they need to choose the best care option in the ever-changing senior care industry. #PrintProudDigitalSmart

ere at Creative Hair Design Salon & Spa (CHD), we are constantly working to bring our clients the newest trends when it comes to hair, body or skin care, with the latest trend being self-care and different ways to help improve how we look and feel. Whether it’s renovating our spa or having our annual happy hour education class, we are constantly working hard to ensure our clients have the best experience in a relaxing atmosphere. When you walk through the doors, you become part of the CHD family. John, the Owner, has always said that if you treat your employees with respect and honesty, in return they will take care of the customers by treating them the same. To kick off our holiday season, we have our annual Happy Hour event for our hairstylists and receptionists. There are Our technicians are vendors that come in to educate the staff continuously updating on product knowledge as well as any new their artistic and technical trends they are starting to see with clients. Lisa, our Salon Manager, started this event skills with the latest knowledge after going to a hair show over 15 years ago. She organizes it every year, and in their individual fields every year we have a great turnout. of expertise. The vendors love coming in to teach and always say they can’t wait until the next year to do it again. We have also found that Creative Hair Design is the only salon that offers this type of education for their staff. If you have been following along on our social media platforms, you will see that we are renovating our second floor spa (again), this time on the west side. There is a new Himalayan Salt therapy room that is being built during renovations. When it is completed, clients will be able to sit in the room and enjoy all the benefits of salt therapy. Himalayan salt rooms offer great benefits such as cleansing the respiratory system, improving lung function and boosting your immune system as well as enhancing your mental health. It is also great with aging skin, which is a trend that doesn’t seem to be going away as people have gone to great lengths to keep the wrinkles at bay. We have also brought in new Celluma LED lamps for clients to experience with most of your spa services. This is another device that will aid in wrinkles, acne, muscle and joint pain as well as decrease inflammation. Follow us on Instagram @CHDSALON or Facebook CHDSALONOMAHA to stay up to date on all the renovations and all the new things going on at Creative Hair Design.
