STEVENS TRANSPORT IS PROUD TO WELCOME BACK

Vylinda, a Missouri native, began her career at Stevens Transport in 2001as a customer service representative, then moved on to managing our team of customer service representatives. After spending several years in that role, Vylinda went on to manage the Kraft Dedicated National Account, playing a vital role in the awardwinning growth of our Kraft Heinz dedicated fleet. Vylinda did an incredible job establishing and nurturing relationships between Stevens Transport and many of the customers that we service to this day.

In 2009, Vylinda had an opportunity to move closer to family, and although we missed her, she was able to gain valuable industry insight while sharpening her skills and experiences in the areas of: multi modal sales, operations management, account management, and B2B diversified initiatives. We are very excited to have Vylinda back to cultivate new relationships and lead the charge towards our quest of being the industry leader and benchmark.

When Vylinda isn’t forging new customer relationships, she can be found spending time with her five children, seven grandchildren, or maybe even riding her brand-new Indian Scout motorcycle!

Please join us in welcoming 2008 Stevens Transport Employee of the Year, Vylinda Walters, who recently returned home to the Stevens Transport family, as our Vice President of Business Development!

STEVENS TRANSPORT TAKES PART IN WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA:

The year was 1992. Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine found themselves with a surplus of wreaths nearing the end of the holiday season. Remembering a fond boyhood experience at Arlington National Cemetery, Morrill Worcester, owner of Worcester Wreath Company, realized he had an opportunity to honor our country’s veterans. With the aid of Maine Senator Olympia Snowe, and a handful of volunteers, arrangements were made for the wreaths to be placed at Arlington National Cemetery in one of the older sections of the cemetery that had been receiving fewer visitors with each passing year.

This annual tribute went on quietly for several years, until 2005, when a photo of the stones at Arlington, adorned with wreaths and covered in snow, circulated around the internet. Suddenly, the project received national attention and received volunteer interest from hundreds of thousands of people from all over the country. In 2007, the Worcester family, along with veterans, and other individuals formed Wreaths Across America, a non-profit organization, to continue and expand this effort, and support other groups around the country who wanted to honor our veterans. The mission of the group is simple:

REMEMBER. HONOR. TEACH.

This year, Stevens Transport was proud to take part in this incredible program for the seventh time.

On December 16th, Stevens Transport drivers Paul Gouker and Mark McCready joined the near 80,000 volunteers at Arlington National Cemetery in placing wreaths on the graves of an estimated 400,000 service members. Mark, a United States Air Force veteran, hauled the wreaths from Harrington, Maine to Washington D.C., where he met Paul, a United States Army Veteran and Transition Trucking Award finalist, and the two proudly represented Stevens Transport,in this incredible program to honor our veterans.

For more than 43 years, Stevens Transport has been supporting our men and women in uniform and we are proud to offer service members an opportunity to become part of the Stevens Family. We look forward to participating in the Wreaths Across America program for many years to come, as well as continuing to always honor the men and women that so bravely served our country.

Congratulations Bob Nelson

Lifetime Achievement Award!

Fifty years ago, Bob H. Nelson began his journey with Steve Aaron. On November 14th, 1972, Bob became the General Manager of Stevens Foods Inc. based in Paris, Texas. For those of you that do not know, Steve Aaron was in the meat processing business prior to expanding to the trucking industry.

Bob’s responsibilities as General Manager at Stevens Foods encompassed full oversight of the entire Meat packing production and processing plants to include operations and supply chain. Bob prided himself on discipline, details, and perfection. Bob’s attention to every line item on the procurement, production and operations side coupled with his tough negotiating skills and leadership made him the perfect partner to Steve.

Fast forward to 1979 when Steve Aaron began his next business venture in transportation founding Stevens Transport Inc. Bob being Steve’s right hand in Paris, was asked to move his family to Dallas to help build a world-class full-service Trucking and Logistics company. Thankfully, Bob accepted the challenge and has played an instrumental part of Stevens Transport’s 42-year history of continued growth and success. Bob says “the early days were extremely challenging as the barriers to entry were difficult to navigate. Having the understanding of moving the meat products to market though outside common carriers at Stevens Foods gave Bob and Steve a jump start when designing the blueprints for a truly exceptional North American Transportation and Logistics Company.”

“Bob is incredibly accomplished and one of the most dependable, respectable, professionals I have ever had the opportunity to work with,” says Steve Aaron. “I feel incredibly fortunate and blessed to have had Bob by my side for 50 years” His passion for success and can-do attitude is second to none”

At this year’s company holiday party, we thanked and honored Bob’s incredible 50 years of dedication, commitment, and tireless efforts by presenting him with the first ever Stevens Transport Lifetime Achievement Award.

As Bob took the stage to accept this award, he was celebrated by a seemingly never-ending round of applause and cheering from the members of the Stevens Transport family. There are countless numbers of men and women that have been able to call this incredible company home, thanks to the contributions and tireless efforts of Mr. Bob Nelson.

As we embark on the 43rd anniversary of Stevens Transport, Steve Aaron and The Aaron Family would like to share their appreciation, love, and gratitude to Bob Nelson for being the best of the best business partner, friend, and family member.

Stevens Transport is proud to have 732 drivers in the Million Mile Club. These drivers are in the top 10% of all drivers, all across the industry, and we are honored to have them as members of our driving force. The level of dedication and attention to safety that goes into the million miles these drivers have run is unmatched. Joining the million mile club is one of the highest achievements that a driver can earn. We are very thankful to have these incredible individuals as members of the Stevens Transport family, and we can’t thank them enough for all that they have done.

TWO MILLION MILES

David Hueckstaedt

David Hueckstaedt has reached a new milestone amongst the million-mile Haul of Fame at Stevens Transport! David, a US Navy Veteran, and member of the Stevens Transport driving force since 2002, attended the Stevens Driving Academy and graduated with his CDL. When asked what led him to this incredible milestone, David said, “Stevens Transport focus on safety has helped me spend two decades on the highway. Their training is the reason that I have been so successful in this industry!” Outside of work, David enjoys spending his free time watching NASCAR and visiting with family and friends.

THREE MILLION MILES CARLOS RODRIGUEZ

Carlos Rodriguez, a San Antonio, Texas native, joined the Stevens Transport driving force in June of 1999, following his graduation from the Stevens Driving Academy with his CDL. Carlos was drawn to a career in trucking by an interest in traveling our country while also creating a better future for his family. Having now been behind the wheel for nearly a quarter century, Carlos has done exactly that. As a three-millionmiler, Carlos is amongst the top drivers in our entire industry when it comes to career mileage, and Stevens Transport is very fortunate to have him as a member of our prestigious driving force. When Carlos isn’t behind the wheel, he enjoys spending his time with his wife, five daughters, and four grandchildren. Carlos is also a huge horse racing fan, that is the proud owner of 12 horses!

ONE MILLION MILES Christopher TURNER

Please join us in welcoming Christopher Turner to the Stevens Transport millionmile Haul of Fame! Chris, a Florida native, joined the Stevens Transport driving force after spending 11 years serving in the United States Army! When asked what it took to get to this milestone, Chris said, “It was really a team effort, I couldn’t have done this without the wonderful support group at Stevens Transport!” Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending his free time reading or watching old western movies!

TWO MILLION MILES

Edward Boechler

Edward Boelchler is a two million miler! Edward, a Michigan native, joined the Stevens Transport driving force in 2009 following his graduation from United States Trucking Driving School with his CDL. As a member of our driving force, Edward has won numerous Driver of the Month awards, yet he now has his eyes set on his next great achievement; three million miles! When he isn’t behind the wheel, Edward enjoys spending his free time watching movies with his family.

DRIVER SPOTLIGHT MEET MARK HARRIS

Mark Harris has been a member of our driving force for 15 years, and just celebrated reaching the two-million-mile mark in his career at Stevens Transport! Mark was drawn to the trucking industry by lay off in his previous line of work, but he is thankful, as it led him to a job where he is both passionate about his work, and very successful.

Mark takes a pro-active approach to driving, ensuring that he is always two steps ahead when it comes to safety, trip planning, communication with driver managers, shippers and receivers. This approach has helped Mark achieve things that he never thought he could as a driver. Mark now has his eyes set on reaching the three-million-mile mark, and with his plan to retire in the next eight years, Mark knows he is going to have to keep up the hard work to reach his next milestone!

When asked what has kept Mark at Stevens Transport for all these years, Mark said, “I’ve met a lot of good people here. I’ve had a lot of great driver managers, and I’ve gotten along very well with all them. I’ve been good to Stevens Transport, and they’ve been very good to me in return! This place is my second, and these people are my family.”

Outside of work, Mark can be found spending time at his cabin at the lake, his RV on the beach, or spending time at the bowling alley! Fun fact, Mark has successfully bowled 300, a perfect game of all strikes, with each hand.

Think that’s impressive? Mark has bowled 300 five times right-handed and fourteen times left-handed!

Kayla Valdez - Driver Billing Assistant December

We are happy to announce that the Paragon Leasing Employee of the month for December is Kayla Valdez. Kayla, the Alliance Billing Assistant, has worked at Paragon Leasing since April 5, 2017. Kayla is a highly organized individual with great time management skills that is known for her team first mindset. Kayla meets all of her deadlines when it comes to the billing of trucks and is always willing to help any department with what is in need. On top of being a great team member, Kayla is known to be a great co-worker who always comes in with a smile on her face, and a positive approach to each day.

Javier Herrera - Truck Body shop

We are happy to announce that the Paragon Leasing Employee of the month for November is Javier Herrera. Javier, a windshield technician in the Truck Body Shop, has worked at Paragon Leasing since September 20, 2011. Javier is the most efficient windshield technician that Paragon has had in years. His quality of work is a step above the rest, and his work ethic is excellent. Javier has a very good rapport with all the technicians and customers he deals with on a daily basis, and we can always count on Javier to step in during times of need.

We are happy to announce that the Paragon Leasing Employee of the month for October is Samuel Hodgdon. Samuel is a tire technician in the Truck Tire Shop and has worked at Paragon Leasing since March 14, 2022.Sam has quickly a leader on his shift, thanks to his great work ethic and ability to assist and train our newer technicians at night, while keeping the work flow moving.

Samuel will be leaving us to join the ranks of the many woman and men who have served to protect our great nation. Hassan is a graduate of The University of Buffalo, with a focus in Supply Chain Management. Prior to coming to Stevens Transport, Hassan spent several years working in brokerage with Total Quality Logistics, an experience that will make him a great asset as our new TL analyst.
