October is filled with cooler weather, pumpkin spice, and autumn leaves. It is also the month dedicated to the millions of women and men who help to raise breast cancer awareness. With tributes and events taking place across the country, we honor breast cancer survivors, support those in their fight, raise funds for research, and share resources.
Breast cancer continues to impact countless lives and families, and we can do our part by understanding the importance of early detection, screenings, and encouraging conversations with medical professionals if the need arises. These initial steps have the potential to allow for interventions and improve outcomes.
The Stevens Transport team, alongside “Pinky” Matthews and her iconic Stevens Transport pink truck, come together at the Susan G. Komen 2024 Komen Dallas North Texas Race for the Cure®, to support this incredible cause and embody the strength of our community and make a meaningful impact, every step of the way.
Stevens Transport proudly supports Susan G. Komen in their mission to find a cure and recognize the many individuals who are bravely fighting breast cancer. We encourage everyone to participate in one of the numerous events and initiatives in North Texas during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Michael Matte VP of Dedicated Contract Services
We are pleased to introduce and welcome Michael Matte, Vice President of Dedicated Contract Services to Stevens Transport. Michael has more than 15 years of experience in sales leadership.
Prior to joining Stevens, Michael served as Vice President of Dedicated Sales at Schneider National where he developed a dedicated sales team responsible for growth in dedicated contract services, securing new customers, and building upon existing business relationships. Michael has a proven track record in establishing seller management programs as well as individual seller strategies focusing on specific target verticals and high priority prospects. With a keen eye for talent and passion for success, Michael was responsible as part of a Dedicated Leadership Team for developing and executing commercial strategies to meet annual sales goals while proactively forecasting dedicated market cycles.
Michael is familiar with all modes of transportation and operations as he built his career at Dupre Logistics, a leading Liquid Bulk Tanker company, where he built his career for twenty years prior to joining Schneider. Learning the transportation industry from the ground up by starting in Operations set the foundation to propel Michael’s success. Serving as Senior Operations Manager and ultimately Senior Director of Business Development and Marketing allowed Michael the opportunity, exposure, and experience to be a driving force at Dupre. Driven through personal and professional goals, we are confident Michael will be successful in launching Stevens further into the Dedicated Contract Services arena.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Louisiana, and currently resides in the Houston metroplex. Michael enjoys spending quality time outdoors with his family and is an avid sports enthusiast.
We are excited to welcome Michael to Stevens Transport!

Wreaths Across America A is committed to teaching all generations about the value of their freedoms, and the importance of honoring those who sacrificed so much to protect those freedoms.

Stevens Transport is proud to announce Cory Troxell has been selected as a Top 5 Finalist for this year’s 2024 Transition Trucking Driving for Excellence Award!
Launched in 2016, the program is part of an overall plan to promote careers in the transportation industry to transitioning military Veterans, National Guard members, and Reservists.
Stevens is honored to have Cory Troxell nominated as a FINALIST in this year's competition. Cory was born into service in Fort Hood, TX. Motivated by a strong sense of family pride, service, and patriotism following the events of 9/11, Cory enlisted into the Army in 2004 immediately following high school. In 2009 while on his second combat tour in Iraq (Mosul), Cory was severely wounded in an enemy IED attack eventually earning him the Purple Heart. Throughout his distinguished career, Cory would serve in many of the Army’s most legendary and travelled armor battalions and cavalry squadrons, both stateside and abroad. His operational assignments include two tours of duty in Iraq, Korea, and Kuwait. Fortunately, and to his credit, he was able to recover from his injuries enough to continue his active-duty career until his retirement in 2024.
Upon retiring from the Army in 2024, the decision to transition into trucking was an obvious one. Drawing similarities to his decision to join the Army, he followed a career path already cut by his family. His father is a current driver for Walmart and his uncle drives for Sigma. To continue the family cycle of service, his son Cory currently serves on active duty with the US Army.
The finalists will gather in Washington DC on December 13th at the US Chamber of Commerce where the Winner will be selected. The grand prize is a fully loaded Kenworth T680 truck. Let's help Cory continue his dream of becoming a proud Business owner and taking the GRAND PRIZE valued at over $160,000!
THE VOTING BEGINS NOVEMBER 1st through NOVEMBER 11th!! Stay tuned for daily voting instructions coming soon.
Stevens Transport is proud to have Cory as a finalist for this prestigious reward! Please join us in congratulating Cory and thanking him for his service to our country and Stevens Transport.

Stevens Transport is proud to always go above and beyond to recognize our incredible drivers each and every day, but especially so during National Driver Appreciation Week. Each year, in September, drivers all over the country are celebrated for their hard work and dedication in keeping our nation moving, through various events and activities during National Driver Appreciation Week.
This year, Driver Appreciation Week took place from September 15th until the 21st, where Stevens Transport was proud to host hundreds of drivers at our headquarters in Dallas, Texas, and give away thousands of dollars in prizes to our prestigious driving force! Our drivers were thrilled to receive gifts such as TVs, headsets, iPads, gift cards, and apparel throughout the week. We also enjoyed various actives, such as conducting a special, on-site edition of the Stevens Transport Roadside Radio Podcast, where many of our drivers were able to gather around and share their amazing stories with Trucker Tim! We also provided lunch for all of our drivers on the yard and took care of our drivers that couldn’t make it in to celebrate with us. In appreciation of our amazing drivers, members of every department, across our entire company, came together to honor and thank our heroes on the road.
Stevens Transport was proud to host our annual office chili cookoff! Our drivers were asked to be the judges, and 21 teams competed to win the title of best overall chili and best team name, plus a year’s worth of bragging rights in the office! Over 100 drivers took part in selecting the best overall chili and team name, and after lots of consideration and eating, our driving force decided on the best of the best!
Drivers were also able to appreciate other events throughout the week, such as our cornhole tournament, daily bingo games with prizes, our driver rodeo competition, and more! Our corporate office was able to show support for our amazing fleet by decorating their doors for Drivers Appreciation Week. Though it led to some fierce competition in voting, the Recruiting Department garnered the most votes to take home first place!
Stevens Transport is proud to celebrate Driver Appreciation Week and honor the hard working and dedicated drivers that go above and beyond each and every day!

Transport proudly recognizes
Meet Julian Gonzalez from West Palm Beach, Florida, an inspiring figure in the trucking industry who exemplifies dedication and ambition. After completing his CDL training at Tampa Truck Driving School, Julian embraced the role of an Independent Contractor, recently achieving a significant milestone: the completion of his first lease. This accomplishment reflects his commitment and perseverance, attributes that resonate deeply with his proud family. Julian's decision to join Stevens Transport stemmed from a desire not only to become a skilled truck driver but also to understand the intricacies of the business. "I chose Stevens for their family-oriented culture and exceptional training program," he explains. "They provided me with a fresh start and the tools to reach my goals."
His objective as a truck driver is clear: to excel in a profession that not many undertake, ensuring he can
provide for his family, especially his son. Over the past two years, Julian has also taken on the role of a driver trainer, mentoring over 23 new drivers. "I find joy in training others; it's fulfilling to be a stepping stone in their journey," he says. "Witnessing their success is a reflection of my own achievements." One of the standout qualities of Stevens Transport, Julian notes, is their welcoming environment for individuals with little to no experience. "The support they offer is invaluable," he remarks. "I’ve made lasting connections and friendships here, enriching my experience on the road."
For Julian, the freedom of the open road is one of the most rewarding aspects of his job. He particularly loves driving along I-70 in Vail, Colorado, during the summer, when the breathtaking mountain views and canyons showcase nature's beauty. "It's a stunning drive that reaffirms my passion for this profession," he shares. His advice for aspiring drivers is rooted in patience and focus. "Everything is a process, and it requires time. As long as you keep your goals in sight, you can achieve anything. Stevens sets you up for success," he encourages.
Transitioning from a conventional job to a career in trucking has also brought significant lifestyle changes for Julian. He now enjoys the autonomy of creating his own schedule and managing his business within the trucking landscape. In his spare time, Julian indulges in bike riding and social gatherings, striking a balance between work and leisure. Julian Gonzalez's journey is a compelling narrative of determination and growth. As he continues to navigate the challenges and rewards of the trucking industry, his story serves as an inspiration for those looking to embark on a similar path.

This past Spring, digital mirror systems were introduced in the Kenworth T680 Next Generation and the Peterbilt Model 579. The digital mirror systems use a single High Dynamic Range (HDR) camera integrated into the driver side mirror head and two HDR cameras integrated into the passenger side mirror head, each featuring hydrophobic lenses to repel water, ice and dust, which ensures visibility during poor conditions.
In the continued effort to remain in the forefront of innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology, Stevens Transport evaluated driver acceptance and feedback to determine if the digital vision systems would be the best fit for our fleet of professional drivers.
Below is the data set and what was learned:
• 150,000 miles driven
• Different drivers assigned to test (length of experience, distance, area, etc.)
• No preventable or non-preventable accidents of any kind
Different drivers assigned to test (length of experience, distance, area, etc.)
Reducing blind spots, providing clear visibility during inclement weather, and reducing headlight glare at night, all contribute to additional improvements for driver safety.
Based on the initial data set and positive outcome, Stevens Transport will be incorporating the digital mirror systems to an additional group of trucks to expand the test.
