FIRST PLACE COMPANY DRIVER OF THE Year

Please join us in congratulating John Douglas on being named Stevens Transport Company Driver of the Year! John, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since July of 2011, graduated with his CDL from the Stevens Driving Academy. During his nearly 12-year career with Stevens Transport, John has driven almost 1.5 million miles, placing him in our Million Mile Haul of Fame and earning him the reputation of being one of the most dependable company drivers in our fleet. When asked what helped him get to this point, John said, “If it weren’t for the training that I received from the hard-working instructors at Stevens, none of this would have been possible!” In 2022, John set the bar high, maintaining a perfect service record and running nearly 130,000 miles. When he isn’t behind the wheel, John can be found spending his free time with his family.

RUNNER UP COMPANY DRIVER OF THE Year

Our Runner Up Company Driver of the Year is Joseph White! Joseph, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since November of 2006, graduated with his CDL from Truck Driving Institute in Florida! In 2022, Joseph had an incredible year, covering over 125,000 accident-free miles, and maintaining a perfect service record! Over his 16-year career at Stevens Transport, Joseph has driven nearly 2.5 million miles, making him a member of our million-mile Haul of Fame. Joseph has also won several Driver of the Month awards, but this will be his first Driver of the Year award! “I would like to thank all the people behind the scenes for helping me earn this award,” said Joseph, “Stevens Transports support staff is top-notch.” Outside of work, Joseph enjoys spending his free time playing guitar and watching drag racing!

Please join us in congratulating Richard Hackl on being named Stevens Transport Independent Contractor of the Year! Richard, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since January of 2015, graduated with his CDL from the Stevens Driving Academy! Over the last seven years, Richard has successfully trained over 40 new drivers to become successful over-theroad truck drivers. Richard originally joined the Stevens Transport driving force as a company driver, but the goal of becoming his own boss led Richard to take the next steps to accelerate his career and join the Stevens Transport Contractor Division! On top of being a committed driver trainer, Richard joined the million-miler Haul of Fame this year, establishing himself as one of the top drivers in the entire industry! Outside of work, Richard can be found spending his free time watching football!

Our Runner Up Independent Contractor Driver of the Year is James Townsend! James, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since December of 2020, graduated with his CDL from Lone Star Community College! James was drawn to a career at Stevens Transport by the executive fleet of trucks that make up our driving force. “When I was going through CDL school, a Stevens Transport driver brought his beautiful black Kenworth to visit, and I knew I needed my own,” said James! 2022 was an outstanding year for James, as he averaged 11,500 miles per month and was able to cross states that he had never visited before off his list! With nearly 300,000 miles under his belt, James has goals of joining the million-mile club and purchasing his own truck in the coming years! Outside of work, James enjoys hunting and spending time outdoors!

Please join us in congratulating the Stevens Transport Company Trainer of the Year, Edward Boechler! Edward, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since January of 2009, graduated with his CDL from the United States Truck Driving School in Michigan! In 2022, Edward surpassed lots of great milestones, including reaching the two-million-mile mark and successfully training his 80th new driver! As a driver trainer, Edward focuses on training his students to be the safest drivers on the road, as that is the most important factor of a successful career in trucking. “Safety is the main focus of the Stevens Transport driver training program, and when we operate in a safe manner, we are almost always going to be successful,” said Edward. Outside of work, Edward enjoys spending his free time with his family and their dogs!

Our Runner Up Company Trainer of the Year is Dean Vogan! Dean, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since December of 2001, graduated with his CDL from the Stevens Driving Academy! Over the last two decades, Dean has proudly trained over 170 new drivers to become successful over-the-road truck drivers and driven over three million miles! As one of the most decorated drivers at Steven Transport, we are proud to have Dean training the next generation of our driving force! When he isn’t behind the wheel, Dean enjoys spending his free time visiting family and watching documentaries!

Edward Boechler

Please join us in congratulating Stevens Transport Independent Contractor Trainer of the Year, Gerald Rhoden! Gerald, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since November of 1998, graduated with his CDL from the Stevens Driving Academy! As one of the top trainers in the history of Stevens Transport, Gerald has proudly trained nearly 200 new drivers and driven over 4 million miles! Gerald had another terrific year in 2022, running over 175,000 miles with a perfect safety record and no service failures! Gerald is one of the top drivers in the entire industry, and he has been able to help hundreds of new drivers find a successful career with Stevens Transport! Outside of work, Gerald enjoys traveling and focusing on staying in shape!

Our Runner Up Contractor Trainer of the Year is Kevin Collins! Kevin, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since March of 2011, graduated with his CDL from the Stevens Driving Academy! Over his near decade of training, Kevin has successfully trained 65 new drivers to become successful over-the-road truck drivers! As a member of our million-mile Haul of Fame, Kevin is a highly experienced driver trainer and is widely known for producing some of the safest and most efficient drivers in our fleet! In 2022, Kevin went above and beyond, covering nearly 180,000 miles over our nation’s highways and earning this great honor! Outside of work, Kevin enjoys spending his free time watching sports and visiting his family!

Hector, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since May of 2022, graduated with his CDL from the Stevens Driving Academy! As a new driver, Hector hasn’t been with Stevens Transport for very long, but his footprint is already being made! “The training I received from Stevens Transport gave me the confidence I needed to know that I can be successful in this industry,” said Hector. It has been a dream of Hector’s to become an owner-operator and business owner, so naturally, he was quick to take the next steps and join the Stevens Transport Contractor Division to pursue his goals! Outside of work, Hector can be found relaxing and watching Netflix!

Our Runner Up New Driver of the Year is Daniel Foster! Daniel, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since January of 2022, graduated with his CDL from Diesel Driving Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas! In his first year with the company, Daniel set the bar high for his fellow new drivers! Averaging nearly 9,000 miles a month in his first year as a solo driver, it is apparent that Daniel’s hard work and dedication will lead him to even more success in this industry! When asked what led him to Stevens Transport, Daniel mentioned the track record of DDA graduates that have come to Stevens Transport and become award-winning, successful drivers! Outside of work, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife and watching sports!

Please join us in congratulating the Stevens Transport Owner Operator of the Year, Douglas Barriger! Douglas, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since October of 2013, graduated with his CDL from Roadmaster Driving School in Florida! Douglas, a member of our million-mile Haul of Fame, began his career with Stevens Transport as a company driver before taking the next steps to elevate his career and purchasing a truck through the Stevens Transport Contractor Division! In 2022, Douglas had an incredible year, running an average of 12,000 miles per month while maintaining a perfect safety record! Outside of work, Douglas can be found spending time traveling with his wife or relaxing at home watching movies!

Our Runner Up Owner Operator of the Year is Trung Nguyen! Trung, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since January of 2020, graduated with his CDL from ATDS Driving School. Prior to joining the Stevens Transport driving force, Trung served our country in the United States Army, where he was led to the career of becoming a truck driver. Starting as a company driver, Trunk knew he wanted to become an owner-operator, so he took the next steps to elevate his career and purchased a truck through the Stevens Transport Contractor Division! With goals of joining the million-mile Haul of Fame, look out for Trung to continue this level of success for many years to come!

Please join us in congratulating the Stevens Transport Team of the Year, Tobey Spears and Brent Collins! These two friends made the decision to become drivers together and team up, so in October of 2018, after graduating from Tampa Truck Driving School, this dynamic duo hit the road together as members of the Stevens Transport driving force! This year was a big year for this team, running an average of 23,000 miles per month and nearly reaching the million-mile mark while maintaining a perfect service record! This team has goals in 2023 of joining the million-mile Haul of Fame and hopefully becoming Team of the Year for a second year in a row! Outside of work, you can find Tobey and Brent spending time with their families and friends back home in Florida!

Our Runner Up Team of the Year is Jim and Ann Lewis! This couple has been one of the top teams and success stories in the entire Stevens Transport driving force since joining Stevens in 2010. This dynamic duo has been driving together since as far back as 1999, but since joining Stevens Transport, Jim and Ann Lewis have been nothing but successful. Jim and Ann have continuously taken the steps to advance their careers, first by becoming Independent Contractors, then Owner Operators by purchasing a truck of their own through Stevens Transport. In 2022, these two Haul of Famers had a top-notch year, adding an impressive 225,000 miles to their now 2.5 million career miles! Outside of work, you can find the Lewis family relaxing and spending time on their 26-acre Texas ranch!

Solaman, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since April of 2007, graduated with his CDL from Progressive Driving School in Florida! Solaman, a member of the Stevens Transport million-mile Haul of Fame, is a member of our Texas Rail Dedicated team. In 2022, Solaman was one of the top rail drivers in our fleet, maintaining a perfect safety record and a near-perfect service record. By becoming more familiar with the rail yards that he frequents, and the people that work them, Solaman is able to build lasting relationships and ensure more timely pick-ups and deliveries at the rail yards that send freight all over the country. Outside of work, you can find Solaman spending his free time traveling with his friends and family!

Our Runner Up Dedicated Driver of the Year is Justin Higgs! Justin, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since September of 2013, graduated with his CDL from Careers Worldwide CDL School. This year, Justin had a great year! By becoming an independent contractor, becoming a driver trainer, and averaging nearly 17,000 miles per month, Justin set himself apart and earned this great award. In the coming years, Justin has the plan to purchase a truck and start his own business with the help of Stevens Transport!
