Please join us in congratulating Richard Hackl on being named Stevens Transport Independent Contractor of the Year! Richard, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since January of 2015, graduated with his CDL from the Stevens Driving Academy! Over the last seven years, Richard has successfully trained over 40 new drivers to become successful over-theroad truck drivers. Richard originally joined the Stevens Transport driving force as a company driver, but the goal of becoming his own boss led Richard to take the next steps to accelerate his career and join the Stevens Transport Contractor Division! On top of being a committed driver trainer, Richard joined the million-miler Haul of Fame this year, establishing himself as one of the top drivers in the entire industry! Outside of work, Richard can be found spending his free time watching football!

Our Runner Up Independent Contractor Driver of the Year is James Townsend! James, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since December of 2020, graduated with his CDL from Lone Star Community College! James was drawn to a career at Stevens Transport by the executive fleet of trucks that make up our driving force. “When I was going through CDL school, a Stevens Transport driver brought his beautiful black Kenworth to visit, and I knew I needed my own,” said James! 2022 was an outstanding year for James, as he averaged 11,500 miles per month and was able to cross states that he had never visited before off his list! With nearly 300,000 miles under his belt, James has goals of joining the million-mile club and purchasing his own truck in the coming years! Outside of work, James enjoys hunting and spending time outdoors!
