Cheersto25 Years!
Please join us in extending a big congratulations to Sanja Vujinovic and Tonia Vaughn as they celebrate 25 years at Starmount Forest Country Club. We are grateful for your excellent service, loyalty, and dedication. Thank you for all you do, and Happy Anniversary!
EmployeeoftheMonth: JacobGordon
A Greensboro native, Jacob Gordon first joined the club in 2014. He attended the culinary program at GTCC, where he excelled in all areas of study and earned the respect of his peers and professors alike. He has risen through the ranks of the kitchen staff and is currently the Executive Sous Chef, assisting in managing all aspects of food service across our operation. Jacob’s culinary talent is only complimented by his reliability, dedication, and professionalism; we are fortunate to have him on our staff. Outside of work, Jacob enjoys collecting shark teeth at the beach, beekeeping, and spending time with his family, his new puppy, and his long-time girlfriend, Rebecca. Congratulations, Jacob and thank for all you do!

A Note From Ray
Dear Members,
Summer is wrapping up… which means my favorite season is upon us. Yes, it is football season again! We hope you will join us at the club as we kick off the season with in-game specials. The new Veranda and Bistro bar is the perfect place to watch your favorite college or professional team.
As Michael Corbett shared with you in his communication, we are pleased to share some great news for our Tennis community. The replacement LED lighting for all the outdoor tennis courts has arrived, and a licensed electrical contractor will install them on the week of September 11th. We do not expect to close any of the courts during the day for this project. I appreciate your patience as we make these much-needed upgrades to your tennis courts.
Some of you may have noticed the biometric entry system being installed at the fitness center entrance As background, the Board and I have had serious concerns about the fitness center’s security, safety, and access by non-members The lobby desk is not always staffed, and your safety and security are paramount
The biometric entry system is designed to unlock the front doors for members who have registered to use the system As an added benefit, members will be able to gain access to the fitness center outside of regular business hours. I will follow up with more details once testing is complete and we are ready to begin registration.
Brooks Turner and his team have done an admirable job of providing you with a magnificent golf course this summer. I have received many compliments from our golfing community that our fairways and greens are immaculate. It is important to note he has had success despite spending the first part of the season focusing on improving our bunkers by adding over 420 tons of bunker sand. Additionally, over the past couple of months, he has been handicapped by a broken pump motor and pump that severely limits his ability to irrigate our golf course in a timely fashion. We are truly fortunate to have him on our team!
It is my pleasure to announce our September Employee of the Month. Jacob Gordon currently serves as the Executive Sous Chef. He has been a member of the culinary team since October 2014. Most of the weekly specials you enjoy each week at Bistro 59 are his creations. He is a talented culinary professional. Please help me to congratulate him on this well-deserved award.
Lastly, with the holidays right around the corner, are you planning a celebration or corporate meeting? Our clubhouse and experienced culinary team will set the perfect backdrop for your special event From large-scale milestone moments to intimate affairs, we will make your event one to remember Plus, one of your many membership perks at Starmount Forest is 50% off the facility rental fee Let our knowledgeable staff handle the details while you make the memories Please contact our Catering Director, Emily Frazier, at 336-358-3949 to learn more
As always, I appreciate your valued feedback Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you wish to share your praises or if we have fallen short of your expectations. I look forward to seeing you around the club.
All the best!
Ray Armini
