NEW MEMBER REFERRAL PROGRAM

A Note From Ray

Dear Members,

Summer is off to a fantastic start, and we eagerly anticipate celebrating the Independence Day holiday weekend with you. The festivities kick off at 11:00 am with music and fun around the pool and continue throughout the day. Chef Dicey has prepared a delightful seasonal buffet for your enjoyment, and as always, DJ Paul Cordts will be back to set the perfect summer vibes.

Late last month, we hosted many of you for the complimentary Sundae Funday Member Appreciation Ice Cream Social. It was wonderful to see so many happy children and adults enjoying the cool flavors of summer. Thank you all for your valued membership.

I’m pleased to announce the addition of seven new members in June four Golf members and three Social members A big thank you to everyone who sponsored them Your participation in recruiting new members is crucial to our continued success

As a reminder, please be extra vigilant when driving around our campus during the summer months. Many children are taking advantage of the club’s facilities, and your diligence while driving is greatly appreciated. Let’s all take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of everyone at our club.

Please join me in congratulating Anna Hernandez, our July Employee of the Month. Anna has been a valued member of our housekeeping department for almost 17 years. She takes great pride in keeping our facilities spotless, and her dedication to the club is evident in her daily tasks. We are grateful for her commitment to Starmount. Please take a moment to congratulate her the next time you see her at the club.

As always, I welcome your feedback. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you wish to share your praises or if we have fallen short of your expectations.

Wishing you all a wonderful and memorable summer!

All the best,

President’s Note

To my Fellow Members of Starmount,

Summer is here! I hope you will take advantage of the pool, the Splash Bar, Veranda and Terrace dining, and extra hours of sunlight to play golf or tennis.

Some updates on our capital projects:

Near the end of this month, we should have our new golf simulators up and running. The first step will be taken on our golf course renovation journey. Herbicide will be applied to fairways and roughs on July 22nd (weather permitting) in anticipation of an improved grass variety being sown next year. Our course will remain playable, it just won’t be as green through the rest of the summer. Look for longer grass heights as the agronomy team prepares for the changes. This month, the Contractor and the Engineer for our Pickle Ball courts will meet with Greensboro City Permitting personnel to determine if the submitted plans can move forward An initial review meeting was held in June The July meeting is intended to see if our revised submission passes muster

I continue to be pleased to report that our year-to-date finances are ahead of projections, and our membership numbers are good. We have a total of 675 active Golf and Social members and a good pipeline of potential new members through the rest of the summer.

Speaking of 675 members – if each member household averages three people, it means over 2000 individuals could use our facilities at any given time. With that in mind, I encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with Starmount’s Operating Guidelines. The Guidelines are extensive but cannot address every situation. One simple rule is to enjoy your time at Starmount, be safe, and be respectful so other members can enjoy themselves as well.

Lastly, we are conducting an Open Mic/Music Jam session on Friday, August 2nd. If you can sing or play an instrument, let me know via email: GregBrownNC@gmail.com. There may be some good music or some not-so-good music, but one thing is certain, we’ll have fun!

See you at Starmount.
