The Centre for Green Technology (CGT) project at Peterborough College reached another milestone. Clegg Construction have completed the installation of the SFS (building inner cladding system) onto the building. This is the first operation of enclosing the building ready for its fit out.

This state-ofthe-art facility is poised to become a hub for green technology education and skills development, preparing future generations for careers in sustainability.

The construction of the CGT is a true testament to collaborative funding efforts. The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) played a vital role, allocating £2.471 million through the Transforming Cities Fund.

Charlotte further highlighted IEG’s commitment to tackling social issues by outlining the Group’s initiatives, such as the implementation of an Anti-Racism Training programme and a thorough review of policies and procedures to address covert racism, bullying, and harassment. IEG remains dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive environment within its schools and across the wider community.

PETERBOROUGH COLLEGE AND NHS PARTNER TO HOST MOCK INTERVIEWS FOR T LEVEL HEALTH STUDENTS

T Level Health (Adult Nursing) students from Peterborough College recently received a valuable boost in their career preparation thanks to an innovative partnership with Peterborough City Hospital. The NHS offered the students a mock interview experience, giving them a chance to practice their interview skills and gain valuable insights into the world of nursing.

This program wasn’t just about interview practice. Students had the opportunity to meet the hospital’s learning team and tour the wards they might be working on during their upcoming industry placements. This firsthand look at the NHS environment allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the work culture and the diverse range of nursing specialties available.

“This NHS interview experience was an invaluable opportunity for our students,” said Lydia-Jayne Markillie, Assistant Head of Faculty for Health and Social Care. “By participating in mock interviews, they gained the confidence and skills they need to succeed in real-world job interviews. Additionally, touring the wards sparked their interest in different areas of nursing, helping them tailor their career goals for the future”.

By providing students with practical interview experience and real-world exposure, this programme equips them with the knowledge and confidence to hit the ground running upon entering the workforce.

REBRAND LOCAL CRIME-FIGHTING INITIATIVE

In a unique collaboration, Cambridgeshire Constabulary partnered with Peterborough College to develop a new brand identity for their ‘Clear, Hold, Build’ project, an initiative aimed at tackling organised crime within the community. The project resulted in a powerful new name – “Alliance” – and a symbolic logo designed by Max Pogson, a talented second-year Graphic Design student.

“From the beginning, I felt ‘Alliance’ perfectly captured the essence of the Clear, Hold, Build project. It’s more than just a name; it’s a powerful word that embodies the entire spirit of what they’re trying to achieve – a united front against crime within the community. That’s why I focused on building a tagline around that concept. Instead of starting from scratch, I wanted to build upon the existing strength of ‘Alliance’ and create a message that would resonate moving forward. It felt right for the initiative, and I truly believe it carries a lot of weight”.
