Campaign Update A Celebratory and Fruitful Spring! May marked the end of the quiet phase of St. Philip’s historic WE BELIEVE CAMPAIGN. We are ecstatic to announce that $33 million has been raised thus far toward our $50 million goal! The campaign is comprised of a combination of operating, endowment, and capital funds intended to grow and sustain the St. Philip’s ministry. Three significant pledges made this spring enabled the campaign to reach its current milestone: $2 million from the Dallas Stars Foundation – a five-year grant beginning in 2020 to build a new multi-sport athletic complex and provide partial funding for after school and summer programming $2 million from the Perot Family – a challenge gift to endow and name the Aunt Bette's Community Pantry $500,000 from The Landin Family – to partially endow the Reading Specialist staff position Additionally, April and May were filled with appreciation and fundraising events to thank our volunteers, campaign leadership, and to kick-off the capital phase of the WE BELIEVE effort. Thanks to our budding relationship with the Dallas Stars, we even held a bonus event – a special FIELD DAY AT THE COTTON BOWL for our students. God is moving at St. Philip’s!
PRAISE AT THE PEROT COMPANIES St. Philip’s celebrated the tremendous impact of the campaign’s quiet phase leadership and donors at this appreciation event held at The Perot Companies. Outgoing Campaign Co-Chairs – Diana and Todd Maclin, Nancy Perot and Rod Jones, and Tina and Dan Stansbury, Jr. – passed a literal baton to the Co-Chairs of this public phase – Roland Parrish and Bill Lively. Bobby Lyle will serve as Honorary Chair. Ambassador Ron Kirk gave inspiring remarks regarding St. Philip’s exciting growth and influence in South Dallas. Parrish also announced the details for the capital campaign phase of WE BELIEVE – the construction of a new Performing & Fine Arts Pavilion on St. Philip’s campus!
