Here we go, Our 2023/24/25 Away Kit Reveal. That's all I have to say. Enjoy this Issue of 'United', the official Matchday Programme of Springfield United Football Club.
Unfortunately our 2023 Australia Cup Campaign came to an end last weekend, as we went down 3-2 to North Brisbane. We started the game with great intent, and found ourselves 2-0 up, but 3 really soft goals gave North Brisbane the match. As much as we would have liked to be sitting here in the fourth round of the cup, this gives us the chance to have two weeks of training before the season starts. Our boys are really looking forward to the challenges that present themselves in 2023, and as we draw closer to round one, I can see their efforts in training start to really lift. Our full focus turns to our opening game against 2022 Rivals Tarragindi Tigers. I'm glad we have a game of this calibre first up, as we know we can't go into this game with any complacently around the camp. I'd just like to end by shedding some light on our U23's team, as they went throughout Pre-Season playing some really attractive football, while also progressing as every game passed. I'm looking forward to their season also getting underway, as there are a number of players in the U23's that can make their impact on the First team season. For now, it's a weekend off and a great opportunity to have a little refresh before Round One.
Our Ladies welcomed Broadbeach United FQPL 1 to 'The Summit' last Sunday, as we put the finishing touches on our 2023 Pre-Season. The game was exactly what I wanted before round one, a physical game against a team that are two leagues above us. Broadbeach play some really nice football and it was great to see the ladies match them throughout the game, as we ended at 2-2. Like the men's team, we now look forward to a weekend off before the season starts, and it gives us the opportunity to host our annual 'Amazing Race' team boding day. The girls have been separated into teams, and will compete against each other in a Race around Springfield. We see this as a great chance for the girls to have that connection outside of Football, while working in a team environment. Souths United are the first visitors to 'The Summit' for the first round of the FQPL 3 Women's season. A club like Souths United are a club we very much respect, and fully expect a tough game, but our ladies have had a great Pre-Season under their belts and will be ready to rock and roll come Saturday 4th March.
Urban Bakehouse have come onboard as proud sponsors for the 2023 season. Operating a chain of Bakeries throughout Brisbane and Toowoomba, the Vo Family have mastered the perfect pie, and the best slice. Pretty much everything in-between those two is worth it's weight in gold as well. Over the last few weeks, we have started to roll out a range of Urban Bakehouse products at 'The Cross Bar' Canteen. The feedback we have received has been amazing, so why not grab an Urban Bakehouse pie next time you are down at the club.
When they aren't baking, Kenny and Johnny Vo are playing for our FQPL 4 Men's teams. Johnny has played at SUFC for a number of years now, while Kenny enters his second season with the club. As we continue to try and provide the best quality food in the Canteen, Urban Bakehouse continue to please our Members.
When creating winning teams, it's easy to focus on individual talents and skills But what about the power of community in supporting winning teams? Andy Nutton and Kristian Samuels believe great communities can significantly support a team's success.
"A strong community is the foundation of a team's achievements, and I believe it's one reason Springfield United is such a successful club – we have an unshakeable community both at the club and across Greater Springfield," Nutton said
Veteran SUFC member, Nutton has been a part of SUFC since 2008 "I've played at a few clubs, and SUFC is by far the standout – I love how friendly and supportive everyone is."
As Director and Principal at Purple Cow Real Estate in Springfield Lakes, Nutton knew it was important for his team to give back to the local community as Springfield United's Premier Partner in 2023. "We saw an opportunity to support our community and invest in the future of our local athletes," Nutton said.
Samuels, who kicks off his second season with SUFC in 2023, is a fan of the family-orientated and diverse community culture enjoyed at the club
"It's like the whole neighbourhood is out together some days, and I find focusing on the game as a team is also the best thing for releasing a busy week," Samuels said
Besides football, Nutton and Samuel's other passion is, of course, real estate You'll find them helping local property owners and investors sell and lease homes with the Purple Cow team when they're not on the pitch
"Purple Cow is a genuinely local team We're not a small 'one man band' or a corporate franchise – so we have the power and flexibility of a strong and experienced team – and we wholeheartedly care about our community, " Nutton states.
"We're also different from other agencies – our focus on quality property marketing can take a good sale price to a wow sale price," Samuels reiterated
Greater Springfield doesn't typically conform to the broader Queensland or national property trends. Our community has so much new infrastructure and amenity development that it essentially creates its own property market. While many other areas are experiencing a downturn, Greater Springfield is bucking the trend. We recommend regularly speaking with our local experts to get correct information about your property and our local market's position at any given time.
There is nothing worse than undervaluing your home. Make sure you choose a local team that knows the area and understands what Greater Springfield has to offer for buyers and tenants. Like football, it's always best to have the home team advantage. Having a knowledgeable local team will also understand the hidden value in your property, the village, and our market, which will translate to a better outcome for you
Talk to the Purple Cow team for a 'health check' on your property You'll learn valuable insights such as a price update, suburb market reports, current demand for your home, and a rental appraisal. Also, discuss simple suggestions that could add value to your home because first impressions count, and this advice can help your property stand out. Also remember to be diligent, do research, ask questions, and have a clear strategy.
We're proud to be a part of SUFC's season and look forward to continuing to support our community. If you're selling or leasing a property in 2023, ask us about Purple Cow's Member's Premium Package to increase your success in the property market.
Collect your 2023 SUFC Members Card at the same time you collect your 2023 Kit Members Cards can also be purchased at the Canteen for $10.

A parent/caregiver role in player development Support plays a critical role in a child’s development and parents and caregivers serve as role models for all types of behaviours and attitudes that children develop. It’s important that Springfield United parents/caregivers encourage their child to improve, learn & participate. I am currently working with all junior coaches to produce training sessions that focus on these 3 key areas. It is only early in the season and I am already seeing a slight drop in training & game attendance. I remind everyone that participation is very important in player development. Please support me, the coaches and players by getting your child to training & games on TIME. I know we are all time poor, but this is so important. Also encourage your child to pack their own bag the night before game day. Players are leaving items at home, including shin pads and boots. Thanks for your support.

Over-35 Springfield Cup pacesetters Springfield Blue (division 2) and Springfield Silver (division 3) are on a collision course in the looming final as the pre-season tournament reaches the business end. Both teams sit top of their group (A and B respectively) with two wins from as many games, and will set up an all-Springfield title decider by avoiding defeat this Friday. Springfield Blue proved too strong for Springfield Gold (division 5) with a 6-1 triumph in Round 2, while Springfield Silver thumped Moggill 8-1. Blue host Moggill at 6.30pm on Friday while Silver tackle Toowong at the same time, with draws enough to see both teams top their group. Springfield Gold will likely secure second spot in Group A with victory over Jimboomba United at 8.30pm. The club’s division 6 over-35s showed more strong form last weekend despite defeat, falling 4-2 to a Bethania outfit comprised largely of division 4 players. An undermanned division 7 side will be better for the run after a 7-0 loss to Bethania, with division 6 and 7 now set for away battles against St Catherine’s over30 (6.30pm) and over-40 teams (8.30pm) respectively this Friday night. In the Over-45 Springfield Cup, Springfield Gold (division 1) remains first in Group B after receiving a 3-0 forfeit from Springfield Silver (division 3), and will book a spot in the final with a win or draw against Moggill at 6.30pm on Friday. Silver sit bottom of the group but are still a mathematical chance of climbing to second if they can beat Taringa at 8.30pm. In Group A, Springfield Blue (division 2) face Toowong at 8.30pm after back-to-back losses, including a 1-0 defeat to Blackstone in Round 2.
