Pink Round is upon us for 2023, and we open our doors to Brisbane Knights for our game this weekend.
The lads have been in fine form in the last month, collect maximum points from their last 4 games. Coming up into FQPL4, I feel we took a few weeks to adjust to the pace of the league, which is a few levels quicker than FQPL5. Since adjusting, we have played some really nice Football, but we are yet to put in a 90 minute performance.
This weekend will be our toughest test of the year, as Brisbane Knights haven't dropped a point in their first 9 matches. Having dispatched every team so far, they will be coming into this game full of confidence which I love, as our lads thrive off of big games and occasions.
As we celebrate our annual 'Pink Round' for 2023, It would be amazing to see our supporters and families dressed up in Pink for our Double Header with the Women's Team.
Another round gone and another spot we climb up the table. We move into 3rd on the table, 2 points off first after our dominant performance against Bethania.
The ladies have been very focused at training and this has shown in our performances over recent weeks. As we head into pink round at the summit, we look to continue our winning way’s against North Star who have seen some decent results over the past month.
We know they will come into the game wanting to give us a battle but we plan to take control early while continuing to play our very exciting style of play.
This girls are all keen to get another 3 points, as we aim to stay within distance of first place. Another double header at the summit as the men take on Brisbane knights, we wish them the best with their game and hope SUFC can celebrate with maximum points from the weekend.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone down at the summit dressed in pink showing support for our teams and helping to raise funds for breast cancer.
Let’s do this SUFC!!!
The last month for our FQPL4 Men has been nothing short of perfect.
4 wins on the bounce, including an 8-1 demolition of last year's Grand Final opponents Brighton Bulldogs.
The return of Rhys Phipps, and the consistent form of Jordan Host, Todd Norris and Kristian Samuels has gone a long way to turning our fortunes around in the past 4 weeks.
The partnership of Tyson Walpole and Rhys Webster at the back has been a revelation, significantly reducing the amount of goals we are conceding.
This week the lads take on unbeaten side Brisbane Knights, and they are under no illusion about how big of a task it is going to be if they want to make it 5 from their last 5.
Our U23's are also flying, sitting joint 1st, after rescuing all 3 points on the weekend.
LAST MATCH: 8-1 FIRST TEAM: 4-3 U23'S:
Our FQPL3 Women host North Star this weekend at 'The Summit'.
The ladies have climbed into the Top 3, only 2 points off of Top Spot. As usual, this league is really close, so points are at a premium.
North Start have found some form in recent weeks, so the Ladies will have to be on their A Game if they want to come away with another 3 points.
Our U23's will also be looking to add another 3 points to their season tally, as they look to consolidate themselves in the Top 2 of their league.
LAST MATCH: 3-0 FIRST TEAM: 3-1 U23'S:
We don't have favourite Partners at the club, but if we did River 94.9 would be one of them.
Whether it be the Saturday Start-up with Dave and Nic, or our very own Spencer jumping on the airwaves to talk all things SUFC, we just love being affiliated with River 94.9.
River 94.9 FM is one of Southeast Queensland's most popular radio stations. 73,300 people across Springfield, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset, listen to River every week.
With their wide outreach and huge lister base, we strongly feel that being aligned with River gives us the opportunity to promote our club to a wider audience than we ever could by ourselves.
It also connects us with other local sporting club and businesses, which drives sponsorship revenue and keeps the costs of running a Football Club down.
We run various promotional campaigns throughout the year through River 94.9, from promoting big games at 'The Summit', to thanking our loyal sponsors for their support throughout the season.
Since our Partnership was announced in 2022, many of the River staff have enrolled their kids into Springfield United, so it's safe to say they are now engrained into the SUFC Community.
So make sure to tune into River 94.9 at anytime to receive the best music mix for Springfield United.
Local Springfield Lakes business, Purple Cow Real Estate, was crowned among the best in the country at the prestigious Real Estate Business Awards on Thursday, 4 May
Announced as the national winner of the Boutique Independent Agency of the Year award (3 or less offices) at a star-studded event in Sydney, the honour recognises Purple Cow’s dedication to providing exceptional service and remarkable results across Greater Springfield
The coveted REB Awards distinguish the nation’s top-performing real estate professionals and businesses, year after year, by highlighting their achievements and honouring their contributions to their community and the industry.
Andy Nutton, Director and Principal of Purple Cow Real Estate, said that as a local, values-led business, Purple Cow takes immense pride in serving the many homeowners, investors and tenants across our Greater Springfield community.
“We’re thrilled and humbled to have been named the Boutique Independent Agency of the Year and for setting a benchmark for excellence. But importantly, the accolade supports us in showcasing the many impressive benefits the Greater Springfield community has to offer to our peers and the rest of the country
“I’m very proud of the team, and we’re just really excited to continue helping our customers achieve their goals for their properties and homes,” Nutton says. Purple Cow’s Investment Growth Advisor, Allen Lyngkuist, was also named among the top ten nationally as a finalist in the BDM of the Year – Property Management, along with Sales Administrator Tasha Hodson as a top ten finalist in Office Administrator of the Year
Allen Lyngkuist said that Purple Cow is not just another face in the real estate industry herd – the team believe in helping properties stand out like a purple cow and fostering life-long relationships with customers and the community. “We’re delighted that our dedication to providing quality and creative property marketing not only helps our customers achieve dream results but has also been recognised as an award-worthy service,” Lyngkuist says
This year’s REB Awards featured 310 high-achieving finalists across 35 categories who battled it out for 20 individual, nine group, and five corporate awards, with the highest-scoring individual winner walking away with the prestigious Excellence Award.
Over the past decade, this awards program has served as a platform for driven and enthusiastic professionals in all areas of real estate to be acknowledged for their exceptional accomplishments.
REB Editor, Grace Ormsby, has praised this year’s winners, noting the tough competition field and outstanding calibre of all finalists.
“Our 2023 award recipients join a select group of industry professionals who are operating at the top of the real estate game. It’s been an interesting 12 months for the industry, and it is wonderful to be able to recognise those professionals who are going above and beyond in the call of duty to their clients
“On behalf of the entire team at REB, I’d like to extend my sincerest congratulations,” Ormsby said. The award comes at a time when despite seeing aggressive interest rate rises from the Reserve Bank of Australia, the local market is still showing solid signs.
“Purple Cow Real Estate is seeing record numbers of groups and potential buyers through open homes across Greater Springfield,” Nutton says.
Andy Nutton has been connected with the property and development industry in the Greater Springfield area for over 17 years and started Purple Cow Real Estate with joint Director Anita Creevey in 2014 after seeing a need for a local agency dedicated to supporting the growing region.
As the current Platinum Sponsor of the Springfield United Football Club, Purple Cow Real Estate continues its dedication to strengthening the local community and powering the spirit and pride of Greater Springfield’s winning teams.

Over the last couple of weeks all teams have starting using an app to monitor player game times.
Adequate player game time is very important in a child’s development and all coaches from 13-18 years have been asked to share this equally amongst their players to give every player the opportunity to improve and develop their game.
Big shout out to all the Mums this weekend and thank you for all the commitment you have shown towards your sons and daughters football.

This weekend, our club tu nal Breast Cancer Foundation.
Here is some more information about the great work the National Breast Cancer Foundation do.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisation funding world-class breast cancer research towards our vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.
Since our inception in 1994, NBCF has invested around $200M into more than 600 world-class research projects across Australia.
In this time, death rates from breast cancer in Australia have improved by 43%. We’ve seen remarkable results, but the job’s not done.
At NBCF, we’re determined to create a better tomorrow. We know research matters, and it is central and critical to improving breast cancer outcomes.
That’s why we fund the very best breast cancer research in Australia by awarding grants via an open national, competitive and rigorouspeer review process.
Our team in focus this week is the mighty Metro 5 Central boys, headed up by Club President Mark Gill. These boys have been on a roll as of late, with two wins against teams in the top 4 in their last two games. Sitting midtable 8 games in, with 3 wins the lads are still a great chance to make finals with the form they’ve found, including a win in their Grand Final rematch from the weekend. With 17 goals scored (7 of them coming in the last two games), the lads have found form at the right time of the season Players to watch out for: A range of senior SUFC players and some new younger players, the 5’s are team you should never bet against. Starting with the back, Club President Mark “Sparky” Gill who is good for 4 goals from corners a year and 500 emails a day. “What are you doing” Kian Gronenmeyer who can’t be missed with his yellow crocs and wild cross. Former top team player and current FQPL3 Women’s coach Lucas Torrisi, who when not carrying a niggle, is a work horse in the middle. Tim “Dad” Malysiak, the Metro Dad to any of the boys under the age of 22. And one of the star recruits, another former top team player, Kevin Barraclough, who has been scoring goals for fun in both Metro and U23’s when filling in for them The boys travel to UQ this saturday hoping to make it 3 on the trot as they push for the top 4.

Every now and then, we are reminded that football is, at the end of the day, just a game. Unfortunately, that reminder arrived in the worst possible way this week with gut-wrenching news for Dingoes (over-35 division 5) striker Matt Campbell and his family. On Sunday, Matt and wife Natasha were told by doctors that their six-year-old son, Fletcher, had a tumour on his brain. A mad rugby league fan like his father, Fletcher has spent the week in hospital undergoing multiple surgeries but was treated to a special visit from ‘The King’ Wally Lewis to help lift his spirits. Early indications are positive but the battle is not over yet. To Matt, Fletcher, Natasha and Peyton: the Dingoes and entire club are right behind you. While the news has certainly put the Dingoes’ Round 6 clash with Lions at Richlands at 7pm on Friday into perspective, we’ll be doing everything we can to get a win for Matt. New to the club this season, Matt (two) and Fletcher’s uncle Chris (three) starred with all five goals in a 5-1 thrashing of Mt Gravatt last week that lifted us into third place.
In division 1, fourth-placed Springfield will also play away to Lions at 7pm after downing Taringa 4-2 last week. Coming off a 2-0 loss to Centenary, the club’s division 3 outfit will be desperate to snap a fourgame losing streak when they travel to Jimboomba at 7pm. Despite having played two less games than all division 6 rivals, Springfield sit fourth with three wins from three – including last week’s 4-2 defeat of Holland Park – ahead of tonight’s 7pm home clash with Western Spirit. It’s a different story in division 7, where winless Springfield will be hoping to end a five-game losing run and climb off the bottom of the ladder with victory at home to Sunshine Lions at 8.30pm. Meanwhile, the club’s two over-45 division 3 sides will be looking to return to the winners’ circle following defeats in Round 5. The seventh-placed Hunters will face Acacia Ridge at The Summit at 7pm, with the ninth-placed Foxes to tackle Logan Village at the same time. Coming off a 5-1 win over Souths United, Springfield sits sixth in division 2 and hosts Redlands at 8.30pm.
