Welcome to the 7th Issue of 'United', the official Matchday Programme of Springfield United.
This week we reflect on our recent Mini-Roos Carnival, that was hosted at 'The Summit'. Another huge event for the club, which has received some awesome feedback.
Our FQPL Men and Women's squads tackle another weekend of fixtures, as our Metro and Overs teams enjoy a week off for Easter.
Enjoy this weeks Issue of 'United'.

After a few tough weeks in FQPL 4, we welcome AC Carina to 'The Summit' this weekend, for what is set to be a massive clash in the context of the 2023 season.
The last few weeks have been tough for our lads, with a 3-3 draw to New Farm United, and a 5-4 loss to Moggill FC.
Both games were very frustrating for myself and the coaching staff, as we feel these are games that we should be taking maximum points from. The effort from the lads however has been good, we just need to stick to our strong points and we can achieve what we want from this season still.
AC Carina have been one of the early benchmarks in the league so far, and we cannot wait to come up against them. A fair few of our lads have played with some of their players at previous clubs, so while the game will be a hot contest, I'm sure there will be some good memories and stories about the past over a few beers after the game.
This weekend also signals the first of many Double Headers for the club in 2023, so head on down and catch 4 cracking games at 'The Summit' on Saturday Night.

With results not going our way, we have sat back and realised that we had become complacent. Knowing we are far better than these results, we have really kicked it up a gear at training and the ladies have proven that they are made of champion material.
This week we have Narangba flying to 'The Summit', but we are not going to hold back as we look to bounce back. The ladies are excited to get on the ball this weekend and score plenty of goals as we put our poor performance from last weekend behind us.
This weekend also sees the first double header with the men, so what a great weekend to get down to the summit and watch us out on a show.
I’d like to also congratulate all the junior teams on their performances at our junior carnival last week. We had a few of the women down cheering the teams on and helping around the grounds and they were impressed with all the teams having fun.
After a few tough results, our FQPL 4 Men host high flying AC Carina.
After a 5-4 loss to Moggill FC, our lads will be looking to bounce back against 2nd place Carina, who themselves are coming off the back of a 6-3 defeat to League Leaders Brisbane Knights. Carina also hosted Redlands United in the 5th round of the Australia Cup on Tuesday, going down 6-2.
After a recovery session in the pool on Tuesday, and a highly competitive session on Thursday, coach Declan will be looking for a 90 minute performance on the weekend.
Our U23's also host AC Carina, in a 1st v 2nd battle at 5:00pm. Both teams have proved to be Finals material so far this season, and I can guarantee this game will be on of the highest quality games of the season.
Make sure to head down to 'The Summit' on Saturday for what is set to be a massive night of Football.

For some context on this FQPL 3 Women's League, we have played 4 games, won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1, and we currently sit 7th That just goes to show how close this League is going to be in 2023, with just 4 points separating 1st and 8th.
Although we sit 7th, the ladies have proved that they have the ability to be right at the top come finals time.
After a 2-1 loss last week to a well structured Samford Rangers outfit, the ladies will be looking to get back into winning form when they welcome League newcomers Narangba Eagles to "The Summit'.
With New Signings Marissa Maitland and Danielle White featuring in the first 'Team of the Month' in FQPL 3, the ladies will be fired up for this one.
Our U23's are absolutely flying, currently sitting joint 1st in the league, with goal difference between Southside Eagles proving the difference so far.
Both Ladies teams are playing some really good Football at the moment, so make sure to get down and show your support.
LAST MATCH: 1-2 BUTLER'

We don't have favourite Partners at the club, but if we did River 94.9 would be one of them.
Whether it be the Saturday Start-up with Dave and Nic, or our very own Spencer jumping on the airwaves to talk all things SUFC, we just love being affiliated with River 94.9.
River 94.9 FM is one of Southeast Queensland's most popular radio stations. 73,300 people across Springfield, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset, listen to River every week.
With their wide outreach and huge lister base, we strongly feel that being aligned with River gives us the opportunity to promote our club to a wider audience than we ever could by ourselves.
It also connects us with other local sporting club and businesses, which drives sponsorship revenue and keeps the costs of running a Football Club down.
We run various promotional campaigns throughout the year through River 94.9, from promoting big games at 'The Summit', to thanking our loyal sponsors for their support throughout the season.
Since our Partnership was announced in 2022, many of the River staff have enrolled their kids into Springfield United, so it's safe to say they are now engrained into the SUFC Community.
So make sure to tune into River 94.9 at anytime to receive the best music mix for Springfield United.
When creating winning teams, it's easy to focus on individual talents and skills But what about the power of community in supporting winning teams? Andy Nutton and Kristian Samuels believe great communities can significantly support a team's success.
"A strong community is the foundation of a team's achievements, and I believe it's one reason Springfield United is such a successful club – we have an unshakeable community both at the club and across Greater Springfield," Nutton said
Veteran SUFC member, Nutton has been a part of SUFC since 2008 "I've played at a few clubs, and SUFC is by far the standout – I love how friendly and supportive everyone is "
As Director and Principal at Purple Cow Real Estate in Springfield Lakes, Nutton knew it was important for his team to give back to the local community as Springfield United's Premier Partner in 2023. "We saw an opportunity to support our community and invest in the future of our local athletes," Nutton said.
Samuels, who kicks off his second season with SUFC in 2023, is a fan of the family-orientated and diverse community culture enjoyed at the club
"It's like the whole neighbourhood is out together some days, and I find focusing on the game as a team is also the best thing for releasing a busy week," Samuels said
Besides football, Nutton and Samuel's other passion is, of course, real estate You'll find them helping local property owners and investors sell and lease homes with the Purple Cow team when they're not on the pitch
"Purple Cow is a genuinely local team We're not a small 'one man band' or a corporate franchise – so we have the power and flexibility of a strong and experienced team – and we wholeheartedly care about our community, " Nutton states.
"We're also different from other agencies – our focus on quality property marketing can take a good sale price to a wow sale price," Samuels reiterated
Greater Springfield doesn't typically conform to the broader Queensland or national property trends. Our community has so much new infrastructure and amenity development that it essentially creates its own property market. While many other areas are experiencing a downturn, Greater Springfield is bucking the trend. We recommend regularly speaking with our local experts to get correct information about your property and our local market's position at any given time.
There is nothing worse than undervaluing your home. Make sure you choose a local team that knows the area and understands what Greater Springfield has to offer for buyers and tenants. Like football, it's always best to have the home team advantage. Having a knowledgeable local team will also understand the hidden value in your property, the village, and our market, which will translate to a better outcome for you
Talk to the Purple Cow team for a 'health check' on your property You'll learn valuable insights such as a price update, suburb market reports, current demand for your home, and a rental appraisal. Also, discuss simple suggestions that could add value to your home because first impressions count, and this advice can help your property stand out. Also remember to be diligent, do research, ask questions, and have a clear strategy.
We're proud to be a part of SUFC's season and look forward to continuing to support our community. If you're selling or leasing a property in 2023, ask us about Purple Cow's Member's Premium Package to increase your success in the property market.
Collect your 2023 SUFC Members Card at the same time you collect your 2023 Kit Members Cards can also be purchased at the Canteen for $10.
Placed on the back of your Members Card is a QR Code Scan this QR Code, and you will be directed to our 'Members Benefits' page where you will come across awesome deals and benefits when you support our Club Sponsors.
I’m happy to advise that the club has passed the Expression of interest stage for our inclusion in the Football Queensland Academy League in 2024.
The club now moves to the document submission stage & both Steve Riddell and myself are working towards collating this information.
My second coach education session will be held in the next 2 weeks where I will be demonstrating to our coaching staff our new session planner.
This session planner software we allow coaches to build training sessions online as well as sharing these with other coaches. Exciting times for the club.
Enjoy your Easter long weekend.

From this week forward, we’ll be taking a look at one of our Metro teams and some of the players who make up those teams. This week Metro 6 Central, the only remaining undefeated SUFC Metro team
After 4 games the boys are tied top of the table with 3 wins and 1 draw for 10 points, coming 2nd to Annerley who are ahead by one goal. After a disappointing 2022 season in Metro 4, the boys have come back together in very exciting fashion. Led by former Mr Metro/current u23’ assistant, Nick Herbert and very popular with the metro men, Aaron Somslao, the boys have shown up game in, game out giving it their all and look to go all the way this season
Players to watch in Metro 6C include: Hayden “Yeah I scored a Hattrick tonight” Yarrow SUFC’s resident tap in merchant, Sam Chadwick, Eryk Legaspi (doesn't have a nickname because he bangs them in for fun).
Other Metro Mens Results
Metro 4C - 4-3 win vs Centenary
Metro 5C - 2-1 Loss vs Annerly
Metro 5S - 5-4 Loss vs Park Ridge
Metro 6C - 4-0 Win vs Souths
Metro 6S - 9-2 Win vs Park Ridge
Metro 7S - 5-0 Loss vs Redlands City
Metro 8S - 7-2 Loss vs Capalaba
