Welcome to the 8th Issue of 'United', the official Matchday Programme of Springfield United.
It was great to see our Mini-Roos finally get onto the park for 2023. After reading the coaches match reviews on our C&M's page, it seemed like everyone had a great time. The best part is that the kids get to do it all again this Saturday.
Our Senior Program is ticking over nicely, with teams getting into the thick of the season now.
Last week, some of the SUFC Board visited the Ronald McDonald House is Brisbane, as part of our continued support of the Charity. Read more about this visit in this weeks issue of 'United'.

Since the last Issue of 'United', we have had two victories on the bounce, against AC Carina and a Centenary Derby win against Ripley Valley FC.
Our Game against AC Carina was the benchmark for the rest of the season for us. We fought hard through the whole game, against a team that was 2nd in the league at the time. It was great to see our whole front three from that game on the scoresheet, in Toddy, Joey and a season best performance from Fan Favourite Kristian Samuels
Last weekend we made the short trip to Ironbark Park, to take on Ripley Valley FC in the 1st Centenary Derby for 2023. Throughout the years, Ripley have always risen to the task against us, and we knew we would have to be at our best to come away with three points. After going 1-0 down against the run of play, the lads really knuckled down to the task and slotted 3 unanswered goals past Ripley. The Highlights of the game being the return of 2022 Superstar Rhys Phipps, who scored our first of the night, and the debut goal of Jordan Host. Jordan joined us from Brindabella Blues in the Canberra NPL system. A player with a stack of pace and quality in the final third, we feel he can be a player to watch in the coming games.
This week we welcome The Gap FC to 'The Summit', as we look to continue our good run. We aren't fooled by The Gap's current league position, as we know there isn't an 'Easy' game in FQPL4. In order to build momentum, we know we have to be at out 100% best each week to continue to get results. Make sure to get out and support the lads this weekend, as they thrive on a good support base cheering them on.

We hosted Narangba Eagles on the 8th of April, where the ladies came away 4-0 winners, in a game where we could have scored more. The most promising sign from this game is that we had 4 individual goal scorers, showing our scoring quality across the park.
Our most frustrating result so far this season was our away trip to Wynnum Wolves FC, where we played out a 1-1 draw. In a game where we didn't meet our high standards, a point had to suffice. Young Gun Chloe Butler getting on the scoresheet in that clash.
Last weekend, we made the trip out to Whites Hill Reserve to come up against Holland Park Hawks. With the League being so tight after 6 rounds, this was a game we simply had to win if we wanted to feature at the pointy end of the league in weeks to come. The Ladies really rallied around each other and managed to come away 4-3 winners Another great performance from young star Chloe Butler (x2 Goals) sealed our 3 points
After two 3-1 victories in a row, our FQPL 4 men will be looking to make it 3 in a row on Saturday, as they welcome The Gap FC to 'The Summit'.
The Gap currently sit 2nd last in FQPL4, but this is not to be taken lightly, as there are no easy games this year. They will take some confidence from their last outing, having league leaders Brisbane Knights 1-0 down early in the matchup last weekend.
A huge plus for SUFC is the return of 2022 Golden Boot Rhys Phipps. After his return to the squad last week, he will be looking to kick on this weekend.
Our U23's will be looking to bounce back after a shock 3-0 defeat to Ripley Valley FC last weekend.
Good Luck Lads!

Our FQPL3 Women host Rochedale Rovers this weekend, as we welcome the 2nd FQPL Double Header at 'The Summit' this season
Rochedale currently sit 8th in the league, but only 5 points off of the top 4. After a few weeks of close contests, the league is starting to break into their groups.
Some standouts so far this season has been the goalscoring emergence of Chloe Butler and Danielle White. Butler bagging 5 so far, and White holding the top goal scorer honours with 6.
The U23's continue to dominate, staying unbeaten through 7 rounds, and coming away 6-1 winners last weekend.
This game has the makings of a blockbuster, so make sure to head down to 'The Summit' this Saturday and support the Men and Women!

Coaching staff last week participated in their second workshop for the year which covered, style of play & most importantly our new coach session planner.
This new platform will allow coaches to design & share training sessions & learn off each other. It’s great to see all the coaches committed to their learning.
I would also like to welcome our new under 13 MJL coach Cooper. Coops is a current first team player and it’s great to see a first team player giving something back to the juniors. Thanks Cooper.
I would also like to acknowledge the previous coach Ben’s great work who leaves the club due to work commitments.

Last week we made the drive out to the Ronald McDonald House in Brisbane. It was the first chance we have gotten to see the hard work and dedication that the Staff and Volunteers put into the House.
Here is some more info about RMHC.
The Mission of the House:
RMHC creates, finds and supports programs that directly impact the health and wellbeing of children and their families. RMHC is there for families when they need it most: right in their own communities.
RMHC in Australia:
In 1981 children’s charities were forever changed in Australia when the first Ronald McDonald House opened its doors in NSW. Since then, the charity has grown to 18 Houses across the country as well as 18 Family Rooms, 5 Family Retreats, One Care Mobile and our National Learning Program.
World-first Ronald McDonald Learning Program:
Our Learning Program was launched in 1999 to support seriously ill children who had missed months, or even years, of school. This was a word-first Australian initiative to ensure that seriously ill children weren’t further disadvantaged by also falling behind at school. Providing one-on-one tuition from qualified teachers, this Program has had a significant impact on the confidence and future prospects of children who have battled serious illness.
This weeks Team in focus is the Metro 5 South boys.
Run by Dru “14 cards a season” Blackmore, these boys have been a stand out in the SUFC metro system, with a grand final appearance last year and a premiership in 2020 the boys are placed nicely towards the top of the table.
2nd after 5 rounds, with 22 goals scored (8 of them coming in an 8-2 win earlier this season). When the boys aren’t playing football they’re down at Falvey’s signing blokes up so they’re able to have a bench come season end
Some players include Ben “Fridge” Bridge, and drinking partner Daniel Lake who reward themselves before playing with an undefined amount of Bundy Rum cans.
The lads play bottom place AC Carina this Sunday, hoping to continue their strong start. Other Fixtures:
