Building agreat team

One of the bestaspects of the Daily Scrumisits potentialas ateam building tool.Consider what typically happens during this event: theteam collaborates to develop aplan forthe day, deciding who will work togetherand on whattasks. Thissetting offers aperfectopportunity forteam members to pair up or even work in groups of three orfour.Team developmenthappens when people work together, and theDaily Scrumisanideal moment to encouragethat. As aScrum Master, try to influence the team to collaborateand support each otherratherthan focusing on taskstheycan completealone. Additionally, encouraging theteam to start at the topofthe Scrum Boardand focus on the mostimportant storycan foster extensivecollaboration. Forinstance, when ateammemberdiscussesthe day’s toppriorityand outlinestheir tasks,it’sanexcellentmoment to inviteotherstojoininonthatstory.Thisapproach notonly promotesteamwork butalso ensures acollectiveownership forthe delivery.
