The South Jordan Arts Council was created to act as an advisory body to the City Council on all matters concerning arts and cultural activities in the community.

Round It Up Program

South Jordan utility customers can elect to have their utility bill rounded up to the nearest dollar and the increment will be donated towards funding the Arts in South Jordan City. You can also make a one-time or monthly donation. Call 801-446-HELP and tell us you want to “Round it Up” to support the Arts.

Youth Art Classes by Art Haven

Art Haven has all-new multi-medium experiences with every session. Students will discover principles and elements of design, art history, and culture as they use their imagination to turn ideas into reality. Artist on Display

In a rotating spotlight, artists from around the valley are on display for one month at the Gale Museum and City Hall. Features include mediums such as oil, charcoal, acrylic, pen and ink, watercolor, photography, and 3D art. If you are interested in becoming a featured artist on display in 2025, please fill out the form on the arts page at sjc.utah.gov/arts.

Old Glory Historical Dance

Classes held at the South Jordan Community Center, 10778 S. Redwood Rd. on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month (please check online schedule in advance for any changes).

SoJo Music Festival Commemorative Poster

- Call for Artists January 2025

The South Jordan Arts Council is inviting Salt Lake County artists to submit to the call for illustrative/digital art for the 2025 commemorative poster.

This art should capture the spirit of the city's kick-off to summer event and prominently feature the city's annual SoJo Music Festival.

Applications will be open from January 1–31. For more information and to apply, please visit sjc.utah.gov/arts

Vibrancy Project - Rotating Murals

Check out the amazing artwork under the overpass at 10600 S. and the Jordan River Trail. This program will expand to more trails in spring 2025. Artists that are interested in painting a panel on the Jordan River Trail mural wall please apply at sjc.utah.gov/arts.

SoJo Art in the Park

Each Saturday, May 3–24, from 10–1 p.m.

Bingham Creek Regional Park

Join us each week at the park for all things art! Activities include art demonstrations, activities and crafts for kids, face painting, balloon artists, food trucks, and more!

May 3 and 17 will feature the Children's Entrepreneur Market with over 60 vendors.

May 10 and 24 will feature over 60 vendors specializing in art, crafts, and culinary work from across the valley. We will have something new each week, so don't miss out on the fun!

Candy Windows

The candy windows will be on display in the store fronts on Towne Center Dr. as well as City Hall, the Public Safety Building, the County Library, the South Jordan Community Center, the Gale Museum, and Mulligans. November 27, 2024–January 1, 2025

Gingerbread Night Out

Come join us for a fun night out decorating gingerbread houses. Monday, November 25, 6–8 p.m. All supplies are included (gingerbread, frosting, candy, and instruction). This class is intended for adults, but 12+ are welcome to attend with an adult.

Cost: $35 per person/house. Pre-registration is required by November 11. Register at register.sjc.utah.gov.

Gingerbread House Contest

All Gingerbread Contest participants MUST pre-register at sjc.utah.gov/ arts by November 25.

Registration is free, but space is limited! No day-of drop-offs will be accepted. After registration is complete, you will receive dropoff details.

Entries will be available for public viewing December 4–10 at South Jordan City Hall. People's Choice voting goes from December 4–6.

Online Photo Contest

The South Jordan Arts Council will be hosting the South Jordan Online Photo Contest in January 2025. Submissions will be accepted from January 1–31, 2025. Artists may submit up to 2 photos each for the contest. Photography should reflect South Jordan places, events, and landscapes from the past year. sjc.utah.gov/arts.

The Sock Puppets

South Jordan’s own improv group –Usually hilarious, never any actual sock puppets.

Shows are held the first Friday of each month at 9 p.m. at the Gale Museum.

The Gale Museum will house incredible artwork from talented artists in the community March 17–April 18 during Gale Museum hours. Registration opens November 1, 2024. Open to youth, teen, adult, and professionals. Interested artists should apply at sjc.utah.gov/arts.

UTA Platform - Call for Artist

Artist Call for Qualifications open November–December 2024

The South Jordan Arts Council is inviting artists to submit qualifications for the glass panels on the UTA platform for the Daybreak station. We will be hiring an artist to convey South Jordan's unique identity, history, and community spirit, making it unmistakable that users of the TRAX station and visitors of the nearby stadium service area are welcomed to South Jordan. SoJo Art Swap Gala

February 22, 2025, 4–6 p.m.

The SoJo Art Swap Gala is an event for local artists age 17 and up. Join us for an afternoon of creativity and connection! Come meet other artists and the Arts Council, collaborate, share ideas, enjoy hors d'oeuvres, and exchange beautiful pieces of artwork. Artists can bring two pieces of art for the swap. We welcome paintings, mixed media, 3D, pottery, photography, and more! This event is free to artists and you are welcome to bring a plus one, but registration is required. Parent Pixie Party and Dance

February 8, 2025 | 4:00–8:00 p.m.

Sign up for a 90-minute timeslot at register.sjc. utah.gov. Registration will open December 1.

At the event, Pixies (children) will get a pair of pixie wings and their choice of a pixie-themed hair clip or a flower crown. Activities include story time, dancing, and photo-ops with pixies, find the pixies game, and light refreshments.

Parent Pixie Party and Dance is open to any parentchild combination regardless of gender. There is not an age limit on this activity; if you feel you and your child will enjoy the event, you are welcome to attend. Registration fee is $20/resident couple, $25 per non-resident couple, and $10 for each additional child. (A couple is one parent and one child. An additional guest fee occurs when a parent wants to bring multiple children. One additional parent may attend at no additional charge.)

Our mission is to preserve and celebrate the culture and heritage of South Jordan throughout time. We provide an educational space accessible for visitors of all ages to learn and contribute to the story of South Jordan.

Tours

Call ahead to schedule a free guided tour. We have experience working with lots of groups, including preschool classes, children and teens, senior groups, and sensory sensitive groups. To ensure all our visitors have a good experience, we limit tour sizes to 20 visitors. If your group is larger, reach out about the potential for arranging multiple tour sessions.

A Monthly Craft Kit from the Gale Museum. Each month free kits are provided at the Gale Museum while supplies last. Activities are perfect for Pre-K and K-3 learners. Group leaders are encouraged to bring their group for a visit or tour and pick up kits afterwards if still available.

Grand Re-opening

The Gale Museum re-opened on September 9, 2024 with a fresh new look and new exhibits!

Mulligans Golf and Games offers something for all ages, including two 9-hole courses, a heated and lit driving range, practice areas, miniature golf, batting cages, footgolf, top-notch golf gear, and PGA pros providing group and private lessons. We're continuously making upgrades, so come see all that we have to offer!

Mulligans & First Tee

There is no better way to get out and enjoy the crisp autumn air than on the golf course. Join us for Junior Golf Sessions throughout the fall and winter, offered by Mulligans and First Tee. Keep kids' skills sharp in the cozy warmth of our heated driving range, with expanded schedules, including Homeschool Golf for Life classes. Learn more on our website under "Golf Lessons." Each four-week session is $125.

Driving Range

Our facility offers both artificial and natural grass hitting surfaces. During the cold winter months, just move to our covered, heated hitting areas. Practice is available at Mulligans year-round, no matter what the weather brings. The three large practice chipping and putting greens and one large practice green for bunker play will provide you with all the tools to tune up that all-important short game.

Ladies League

Women ages 40 and over are invited to participate in the Mulligans Ladies League. Join us every Tuesday morning from April to October at 9:30 a.m. for a blend of camaraderie, competition, and enjoyment. The FREE membership comes with perks, including discounted lunches, free clinics, and discounted rates of $15 for 9 holes with a cart or $8 for 9 holes while walking. Throughout the season, we host tournaments and contests with exciting prizes up for grabs.

Spring SoJo Ranger Camp

Archery, fishing, and outdoor skills camp. Every week, learn new outdoor skills while you practice your archery and fishing skills. Learn how to make arrows and tie fishing knots. Test your fishing skills on the final day of camp.

SoJo Winter Fitness Challenge

Need some motivation to get outside and run this winter? The SoJo Winter Fitness Challenge is an 8-week fitness challenge that includes 2 live races (Santa Sprint and Break the Freeze) and 6 virtual races. Set fitness goals and work each week to accomplish those goals. The virtual races are completed on your own time after the routes have been marked and sent out each week. Register through the SoJo Santa Sprint registration by selecting Winter Fitness Challenge. Shirts and medals for the Santa Sprint and Break the Freeze are included in the registration.

Hearing Testing

Come have your hearing tested by the Hearing Ladies! Appointments are available once a month. Check the Senior Programs newsletter for dates. Testing takes approximately 30 minutes. Reservations are required.

AARP Driver Safety Class

This full-day course will provide a review of driving skills and techniques. Check with your insurance company to see if you qualify for a multi-year discount upon completion of this course. There will be a break for lunch. Sign up for lunch or you can bring your own.

AARP Tax-Aide

Certified volunteers help prepare basic income tax returns. This is a free service. Every Thursday from February 6–April 10, 2025, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Sign-ups begin mid-January. Call the

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)

This is a free service for people with low-tomoderate income. Appointment required. Held at the Community Center.
