SOUTH JORDAN’S OFFICIAL

![]()

The City of South Jordan is proud to be a member of the South Valley Chamber of Commerce, the official chamber serving our city and surrounding communities. This partnership connects South Jordan businesses with resources, networking, and advocacy that help them thrive and, in turn, strengthen our local economy.
Led by President and CEO Jay Francis, the South Valley Chamber is known for its visionary leadership and regional impact. The Chamber represents multiple cities across the valley, giving members access to a larger network of business leaders, educational programs, and opportunities that smaller, single-city chambers can’t always provide.
Being part of the South Valley Chamber offers powerful benefits, including:
• Networking opportunities and increased business credibility.

• High-quality educational programs and professional workshops.
• Advocacy and a unified voice to influence local and regional policy.
• Connections with peers, mentors, and supporters who help each other through challenges.
• Ribbon cuttings, visibility, and engagement with local officials and community leaders.
South Jordan’s membership means we’re actively collaborating to promote a strong, connected business environment. We encourage all local businesses to consider joining the South Valley Chamber to access these resources and be part of something larger, a network committed to growth, innovation, and community success.
And whether you’re a business owner or a resident, remember: shopping local matters. Every dollar spent in South Jordan helps fund vital city

services, supports local jobs, and keeps our community vibrant.
Together, through our partnership with the South Valley Chamber, we’re building a thriving local economy; one that benefits everyone who calls South Jordan home.

WhenLiv Pure Açaí o cially opened its South Jordan location on May 25, 2025, it brought more than nutritious bowls to the Daybreak community, it brought new energy to South Jordan’s growing local economy. A er rst launching as a food truck in 2018 and later opening a Draper storefront, the founder and owner, Kari Jones, chose South Jordan for her second location because of its fast-growing, family-centered community and supportive business climate.
Liv Pure Açaí stands out for its commitment to quality and authenticity. Using 100% organic, wild-harvested acai berries from the Amazon, every bowl is madeto-order, customizable, and packed with clean, nutrient-dense ingredients. Beyond promoting healthy living, the shop also supports sustainability with compostable packaging and eco-conscious sourcing.
But businesses like Liv Pure Açaí do more than serve great food, they strengthen South Jordan’s economy. Each new storefront creates local jobs, generates sales tax revenue that supports city services, and signals to other entrepreneurs that South Jordan is a place where small businesses can thrive. By hosting pop-ups with women-owned companies, partnering at local events, and fostering a sense of connection, Liv Pure Açaí is proof that investing in South Jordan means investing in both people and place.

Last month we shared exciting news that the new South Jordan Senior Center will be built at The District, in the southwest corner that is currently empty. To our seniors, you are the heart of this community. You’ve built the neighborhoods, the schools, the parks, the traditions, and it’s only fitting that we now build something for you.

We have a very active senior community and a wonderful senior committee here in the city. Our South Jordan Community Center has also served as our South Jordan Senior Center for many years, but it was never built with that purpose in mind. Visitors make good use of the space and adapt with creativity to make it work. They also exercise patience when the facility is used for a variety

of other events, but the need for a purpose-built senior center has existed for a very long time. After many hours (over several years) of thoughtful planning, collaboration, and community feedback, I’m thrilled that this vision is becoming a reality.
The new Senior Center, which will be about 17,000 square feet and designed specifically for seniors, will include versatile activity spaces, art and fitness rooms, a commercial-style kitchen for meal programs, and accessible parking. Next door, about 200 senior housing units, the majority meeting affordable housing guidelines, will provide options for residents who wish to remain in South Jordan as their housing needs change.
This project is about more than just a building. It’s about connection and community. It’s about ensuring that those who helped build South Jordan can continue to thrive here, close to friends and family. It’s also about thoughtful city planning, which means creating a development that supports local businesses and keeps our city’s core vibrant throughout the week. When seniors live, gather, and shop at The District, they bring steady, positive energy that strengthens the entire community.
This effort reflects what’s best about South Jordan: vision, commitment, and
partnership. And it’s not being paid for with general fund tax dollars. We have been saving redevelopment money, little by little, for several years in order to do a significant project like this. I’m deeply grateful for the collaboration of our City Council, dedicated staff, and our partners at Ivory Innovations, Call to Action, and The Boyer Company, who share our belief that senior spaces and housing should be both innovative and affordable. We also appreciate the cooperation of The District tenants, including Target and JCPenney, who have worked alongside us to bring this project to life.
Construction could begin as early as 2026, marking a new chapter for South Jordan’s senior community. To every resident who asked, waited, and believed, this is your moment. Together, we’re building more than a senior center. We’re building a legacy of belonging, connection, and care that will serve our city for generations.
